  1. Mike Thomas - WR - Lions

    Oct 30 - 7:08 PM

The Lions were reportedly "highly interested" in Mike Thomas coming out of Arizona in the 2009 draft.

They ended up drafting Derrick Williams instead, only to turn around and dump him last season. Thomas is expected to fill a wide variety of roles in Detroit, including the occasional backfield snap "in a Jahvid Best-type role." We suspect his biggest on-field impact will come on returns, as Stefan Logan has come under fire for a trio of recent fumbles.

  2. Mike Thomas - WR - Lions

    Oct 30 - 4:30 PM

Lions acquired WR/PR Mike Thomas from the Jaguars in exchange for an undisclosed mid-round draft pick.

It's an understandable trade from Jacksonville's point of view. Thomas failed to endear himself to Mike Mularkey's coaching staff, wasn't worthy of his $4.95 million in salary and bonuses, and had fallen far behind emerging go-to receiver Cecil Shorts. Although Thomas will provide depth in Detroit at wide receiver and punt returner, he doesn't figure to be a threat to Ryan Broyles' slot receiver role. Broyles has impressed since Nate Burleson went down two weeks ago. With an average of 11 targets, six receptions and 97.5 yards the past two weeks, Shorts should be added in 12-team leagues.

  3. Charles Woodson - DB - Packers

    Oct 23 - 8:37 PM

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel's Tom Silverstein believes "this is probably (Packers FS Charles) Woodson's last year with the team."

Silverstein rightfully reasons that Woodson's scheduled 2013 salary of $9 million will be too odious for the Packers to pay a 36-year-old corner coming off a broken collarbone. Woodson's play has slipped, but not to the point that he shouldn't be counted on to contribute in 2013. If he's cut loose by Green Bay, he'll draw interest on the open market.

  4. :yep:

On a side note, it pissed me off that we kept trying to pass on first and second down in the fourth quarter when AP was destroying today.

That ticked me off too. We were killing them on the ground all game and then when we are supposed to run the clock down by running the ball we pass. Musgraves play calling was very suspect.

  5. A guy just offered me this trade and I am on the fence about it: DeMarco Murray for Larry Fitzgerald. It is in a standard scoring league with 2 starting WRs, 2 starting RBs and a flex.

My WRs and RBs look like this:

    Steve Smith, Car

    Mike Wallace, Pit

    Steve Johnson, Buf

    Willis McGahee, Den

    Rashard Mendenhall, Pit

    Mikel Leshoure, Det

    DeMarco Murray, Dal

    Chris Johnson, Ten

    Cedric Benson*, GB (Out)

    Should I pull the trigger?

  6. No, I can't.

When you have a QB who quite literally can't throw over 5 yards accurately, it's not hard to stop the offense.

The Vikings defense may be good. But it doesn't matter against Hasselbeck, he's bad enough by himself.

This pass looks to be pretty accurate....

  7. Rashard Mendenhall - RB - Steelers

    Oct 5 - 1:00 PM

Citing team sources, ESPN's Ed Werder indicated that Rashard Mendenhall (probable, knee) will be eased back into the lineup in Week 5 before carrying the mail in Pittsburgh's backfield the rest of the season.

Mendenhall practiced fully all week and is listed as probable to play against the Eagles. Per Werder, "They're gonna acclimate him to the game, and then they're gonna ride him the rest of the season." Mendenhall would be a dicey Week 5 flex against Philly's stout run defense, but owners who plucked him off the early-season scrap heap may be looking savvy by the end of the month.

  8. I think the playoffs are in the realm of possibility. Its still very early and I am kind of on the fence on whether or not they actually make it but voted yes.

Adrian Peterson is breaking tackles and appears to be back to the beast he was prior to last years injury. The coaches have started to finally trust Percy Harvin and he is rewarding them by putting up solid numbers. The return of Simpson should help stretch the field and open up opportunities for both AP and Harvin. If Ponder can limit the turnovers as he has and play smart football for the rest of the season we have a chance. Also the defense has been playing lights out this season. The weakest link of the Vikings for the last eight years or so has been without a doubt the secondary. The recent additions through the draft and free agency appear to have changed that. The front four have also stepped it up and have gotten eight sacks after their meeting with the coaches prior to the loss against the Colts. There are plenty of positives to look at so far this season. Hope it stays that way.

  9. Very pleased to see the defense play lights out for the second straight week. The offense left quite a bit to be desired besides AP who looked the best he has since the injury. Feels good to match last years total of wins in the fourth week.

  10. I haven't felt this good about a win in along time. The team looked great on both sides of the ball (besides Gerharts three fumbles). Ponder made very smart decisions and the Oline actually gave him time to make reads. The defense finally created some turnovers and even got an INT. Hope this carries over to next Sunday.

  11. Have to agree, vikes won't move up until they lift up there skirt and try to throw the ball more then 12 yards down the field. Oh..and is a turnover too much to ask for?

I feel like I haven't seen the Vikings get an interception since we had Darren Sharper.

  12. I listened to the Colts game on the radio with PA calling, and I can't remember the name of the second guy. Either way, the second guy was going on and on about how AP didn't have the same burst this week, and yet every time they gave him the ball he seemed to go for 5 or 6 yards.

Teams have learned how to contain his long TD runs. I don't know what that guy expected, but AP hasn't consistently broken long TD runs for a few years, but he still runs all over people. He just doesn't do the Beast Mode run at least once every few games anymore, but that's defensive adjustment.

He's back, alright. As we all knew he would be.

Yeah. Teams have completely stacked the box ever since Favre left. The QBs we have had since Brett don't scare defenses so teams over commit to the run leaving AP almost no space. Hopefully our coaches will stop this dink and dunk offensive play calling and let Ponder loose to see if he can strike some fear in opposing defenses.
