How Chip Kelly Can Spark 'Moneyball' Revolution In NFL
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in General NFL Talk
Eh, I think you guys are missing the point of the article. You're pointing to college results to dismiss the premise, when the entire premise is about the NFL, not college. The entire article is based on NFL teams not going for it on 4th down, and using that extra down afforded to you. How statistically it's not that bad if you fail to convert, and if you do convert, your chances rise exponentially. There's a reason Belicheck seeked out Chip Kelly for inspiration. The guy has a fresh spin on the game. Call his offense gimmicky, in which you're probably right. But I personally think he'd make a great NFL Head Coach. Offensive Coordinator? I'd say that's iffy. But Head Coach? Absolutely. That's what this entire article is about — decision making, management, and being a smart Head Coach. The article brings up great points about the scared conservatism rampant in the NFL, as well as it's copycat nature (although that's been regurgitated ad nauseum.) Although I had a problem with the article having a blatant grammatical error in the same sentence in which they call someone a moron. Not a good look, but I'll let it slide because the premise is interesting for sure. I found it funny that he didn't even recommend Chip Kelly for the Jags, after bringing up what the Jags should do (another beef I had — recommending trading for Tebow just to sell tickets.) Jags are reportedly getting Oregon inspired Nike uniforms next year, should the Ducks win the title (I doubt it, but if they do), he'd likely be a candidate for the Jags job after they hire their new GM once Gene Smith is fired (a certainty after Shad Khan's recent comments regarding results.) -
A victory for libertarianism

Check out this batshit insane woman going on a rant about how us Libertarians cost Romney the election and how stupid we are. This video is hilarious. -
Colt killer MJD not playing, Colts win.

Trick question because my Jags would never be in the Super Bowl.

Which Rookie Would You Want to Build Your Franchise Around?
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to ATL_Predator's topic in General NFL Talk
On the subject of middle round QBs — I think Zac Dysert in the middle rounds of the draft this year can turn out to be a dark horse franchise starting QB in the future. -

Which Rookie Would You Want to Build Your Franchise Around?
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to ATL_Predator's topic in General NFL Talk
Or a LB for that matter? Kuechly is gonna be a stud and everything, but unless that LB is Lawrence Taylor or a young Ray Lewis what are you thinking? Franchise QB, always. serviceable HBs, and LBs can be had way easier. -
Rookie QB Power Rankings
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to AllYouNeedIsLovie's topic in General NFL Talk
I'm sticking with my #1 guy obviously, because I was right all along. I'd make these changes as of now though: 1) Luck 2) RGIII 3) Wilson 4) Tannehill 5) Weeden As you can see, career wise I have Tannehill and Wilson jumping RGIII when it's all said and done. Tannehill has a bunch of guys to throw to, wait til that kid gets real weapons. He's also #1 in the NFL—yes, the entire league—in QB rating against the blitz. Not Peyton Manning, Not Tom Brady, nor Drew Brees, nor Aaron Rodgers, it's Ryan Tannehill. But so far I've been pretty dead on about the QBs, I keep telling people I know QBs. I know lots of coaches, I've been around the game my entire life and played QB as a kid. I got into partying and traveling too much in high school and threw away sports for a few years like an idiot, but I'm 26 now and I still have the knowledge. -

Luck easily, and it's not even close IMO. I've ranked Luck as the #1 rookie QB all year even when RGIII had better stats and wins. People called me stupid then, and how could I possibly rank Luck ahead of RGIII with their stats and the way the beginning of the season went, and now—well now, they've shut up. Luck's been making all the hard plays, throws down field and threatens/puts pressure on the defense way more than RGIII. I still like RGIII as a prospect, I just like Luck that much more. -
One of the Hurricanes that hit my area in 2004 split an island in half here. Another one ripped our porch off and sent it three blocks down into someone's living room. Another one snapped concrete pillars like twigs. Hurricanes are so routine to me, that I've even been outside in one before, being a drunken idiot. They're very annoying, but everyone here uses it as an excuse to cook out and party way too hard. But then you wake up and there's no A/C and it's insanely humid and hot everywhere and the party seems like a bad idea.

Pretty sure Thanatos wins over me via tiebreaker AGAIN...

Why Ngata hates John Harbaugh.
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to Omerta's topic in General NFL Talk
Yep, pretty much. Still jealous of your GM and front office though. If the Ravens had a top notch coaching staff they'd be a monster. -
There's still one constant left from the JDR era, guess who?

They lost any semblance of interest of mine when they turned bitch and changed the invading country from China to North Korea for political reasons. If you're gonna change it, at least change it back to Russia again. North Korea? Like you said, that's a joke, those guys can't even fire off a test missile without screwing it up. Complete bullshit. Not to mention there's no history of North Korea being referred to as "Red" hence the Red Dawn title. Russia? Yes. China? Yes. Peoples Republic of Korea? Nope. And that fat kid from Nickelodeon is in it shooting guns and what not? Fail.

Hmmm, looks like it's gonna be a close one riding on this MNF game. Good luck fellas. SIKE.

10-3 so far, damn you RGIII (for losing) and Luck (for winning.)
-
I'm too embarrassed to.

He can be a solid possession guy if he buys in and focuses. But that's it, he's never been a big play guy at all.

Aqib Talib traded to the Patriots
CampinWithaMissingPerson replied to CampinWithaMissingPerson's topic in General NFL Talk
Reports are the Bucs sent Talib AND a 7th round pick to the Pats for their 4th round pick. Makes a little more sense now.
