How Did You Become a Fan Of Your Team?

Was born in Indiana. The first season that really caught my eye and got me obsessed with the Colts at times was in 1995 when Jim Harbaugh took over and we made it to the AFC Championship game in my favorite postseason run ever. Fun fact: Ray Lewis had his first sack vs. Jim Harbaugh.

How many games do the Broncos win in 2013?

Honestly it doesn't truly matter how many regular season games they win. Whether they win 9 or they win 15...it's all about the playoffs for this team. Elway didn't assemble this group and bring Manning aboard just to win the AFC West. And actually I do think either the Chargers/Chiefs will bring some heat this year. I don't think the Broncos will sweep the division in back to back seasons either and there is bound to be some improvements all around that we cannot predict in the AFC West yet or the AFC in general. But, time is ticking too and this teams window could be so short that I hope they don't buy green bananas.

    Jaws QB Countdown

I just read on another forum that Wilson came in at #12 after RGIII at #13. And Kaepernick is #11. http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2013/07/2013-jaws-qb-countdown/ You know what this means? A certain rookie QB from last year has yet to be ranked. Be prepared. Be prepared.

Yep you got it. Pretty much a lock now. And your favorites, Luck and Peyton will meet up in the AFC title game. And hug when the game is over and Peyton will declare international Andrew Luck day to celebrate. Of course the Colts will win. Since Manning is a secret government agent we sent to ruin Denver in the playoffs. Everyone in the Colts organization is in on it and everyone knows in Indiana that in 2011 Manning officially gave up football and was recruited by the shadow government. He just goes through the motions now of football working for the Denver Broncos collecting an extra pay check. As for Luck? He was created in a lab by Archie Manning and Oliver Luck in Germany back in the day. The secret was to have him have a modestly successful statistical rookie season in order not to set off too many alarm bells. Although the 11 wins might have been an accident. It was supposed to be 10 but the Lions blew it too much. When Luck went to Berlin recently it was to recharge him for next season and the latest plan. I heard he even skipped over to Russia and visited Putin and Snowden for a night on the town and he tried on Krafts Super Bowl ring.

    Manning or Brady

Take your pick. I am sick of talking about the young QBs tonight. Manning or Brady. Which one have you always preferred/think is better? These debates have been endless on Colts forums for so many years!! I am curious to see what various fans of other teams have to say in it. Either one is fine with me btw!

I agree. But, lets keep this in mind KempBolt. Fouts is just an epic choker who can't compare to the current greats such as Eli and Big Ben.

Zack's top 21 QBs of All Time

I still have a tough time comparing the great classic retired QBs to the current ones still playing. The game has changed so much and as time goes on I think we fear defenses less and less due to the wussification of the NFL. I am a huge fan of most of the classic QBs. I have a tough time ranking them. Growing up though Unitas was pretty much the Jesus of football according to my dad....and other old school Colts fans. And the game is different now then even in 1998 when Peyton Manning was a rookie or back when Favre was in his prime years. You can nitpick QBs and any player all day freaking long....something will always come up. I have absolutely no issues with placing Montana as #1 of all time either. I think he is far better then Brady who many compare him to and it's not even close to me. Montana was the ultimate overall winner in my book but even he had luck too. Like when the Bengals player dropped his interception in the Super Bowl...I think it was Montana's third SB. And the records that are being broken these days can sometimes bug me. Brees broke that Unitas TD record. It's EASIER these days to break them.....QBs are setting/breaking records all the time....and I feel some teams run up the score too and GO for the records blatantly. And I have no way of proving this but it's my hunch that Marino wins a ring today with a good team with the way the league favors the passing game. JMO of course.

  10. Honestly have to admit I have not been following this case as closely as I would like lately so I am enjoying all your posts. Keep them coming.
  11. And we all know what Pagano told the team after they beat the Dolphins last year in an emotional speech: "I've got circumstances. You guys understand it, I understand it," Pagano said. "It's already beat. It's already beat. My vision is that I'm living to see two more daughters get married, dance at their weddings and then lift the Lombardi Trophy several times.'' Overall though, I hope Pagano stays cancer free more then anything that involves football. Besides, to compare...another tragedy happened to the Colts in 2005. Tony Dungy's son took his life near the end of the regular season. The team was so shook up by it I felt they never truly got their emotional groove back despite being such a talented squad who was the Super Bowl favorite. And I understood too, James Dungy was often at practices and Dungy was our leader. It hit them all pretty hard to see a young man they knew well suddenly end it all... I think an awful event on a team can work in either way in the end. I feel as if Arians (even if I sometimes hated his play calling) did a terrific job guiding this young team to keep their minds on football as well as team leaders such as Reggie Wayne. 2012 really started in 2011 with 2-14 and the eventual and inevitable release of the legend Peyton Manning, several veterans and the Polian era. Many fans were distraught at the changes. During the course of last season I felt this Colts team really BONDED as a TEAM. It was a joy to watch...forget stats. I was truly in awe at times just seeing these guys come together as a group and learning to win games in the clutch with so much youth. Perhaps the Pagano story was inspiring but even if it was. And it should have been....they learned a lot in the 2012 season..and hopefully these lessons carry over. This team had FUN last year. Sometimes I miss the element of fun in sports. I had more fun watching the 2012 Colts then I do some of the perfect robotic powerhouses we sometimes see in this league. You can't just be talented and put up good numbers. You have to learn how to WIN too. Sometimes just a few things in a game are the difference between a win and a loss. Sometimes just ONE PLAY. Talent and stats alone do not win games. But, have to understand. Pagano was also inspiring this team from the second he got here. He was making rousing speeches going back to camps in the offseason....I heard one that made me want to play football even lol. Win or lose I found the Colts last year to be almost inspiring as a fan and I know not everyone feels the same who is not a Colts fan. I was pretty proud of them so at times I do get over protective...like a mother almost lol. The ride they gave me as a fan was beyond anything I can truly nitpick....cause I can't criticize anything. The Colts last year were that damn exciting to me as a lifelong fan of the team. The comebacks fit us perfectly too....we were a team THAT NEVER QUIT. It will change now though. Now a more fundamentally sound football team is going to have to start developing in Indy to become serious. And the magical ride of unexpected wins is over now that there is more of a target on us. But, win or lose I hope this team maintains it's heart and never gives up and maintains the lessons/intangibles they developed last season.

How many games do the Broncos win in 2013?

Interesting.... And I will take it a step further too. Twice before last season a Manning led team went 13-3. 1999 Colts: 13-3 (Playoffs one and done) 2000 Colts: 10-6 (WC team, Playoffs one and done) 2007 Colts: 13-3 (Playoffs one and done) 2008 Colts: 12-4 (WC team, Manning MVP, playoffs one and done) 2012 Broncos: 13-3 (Playoffs one and done) 2013: ?

There are a lot of females who found the Boston Bombers hot too, especially the 19 year old. Read this: http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/girls_lovesick_twisted_OLK6eLVJM5U6618gAVXT0O

I am well aware of this. Heck for all I know a lot of people had money on the Colts and panicked...... But, even if we got the break we would still blow it. From start to finish that was a huge choke job by the Colts as a whole. Not just Peyton...the ENTIRE TEAM. It was sad. Dungy got outcoached by Cowher too. I vividly remember in my mind seeing Cowher almost trick us and starting the game out passing instead of running. It's as if Dungy expected the run. Ben passed early on and they built a lead with the Steelers. We never came back until later and it was too late. We got into panic mode. And we did not run the ball enough. Edge was often to me too under utilized in big games. And again in the SB loss to the Saints, we never ran the ball enough even when Addai was killing it. Peyton Manning was Dan Marino too often in big games. Often so is Drew Brees. When the Saints lost to the 49ers in the playoffs a few years ago in SF all Brees did was throw the ball......there was NO RUN GAME. I often feel too many of today's offenses are too pass heavy and it bites them in the playoffs. If you want the glory as the QB in the end and to shed the choker label then build a balanced team......run the freaking ball too. Of course to be fair to Brees the 49ers were shutting down the run so he often did not have a choice in the matter. And when a QB gets too freaking pass happy the interceptions are going to pop out at the worst times.... JMO

Marino threw the ball too much. So do many of todays QBs but the rules favor the QB today. Marino was ahead of his time actually and was basically Peyton Manning in a different era. In Marino's second season in the league at 23 years old he had 14 wins, 48 tds 17 ints and 5000 yards. In an era when the passer did not get the breaks they do today!!! IMO Marino's record setting season was MORE impressive then either of Manning or Brady's when they broke the record. They lost the SB that year to the 49ers but those 49ers teams were just....better too. All around. Even in that SB loss Marino threw the ball 50 times. Montana only threw it 35 times. That's why today I often say "the Dan Marino style of offense" when I see QBs chuck it up to 40 to 50 times in a playoff loss...... Marino gets heavily underrated due to his playoff let downs. But, that man was possibly the best pure passer of all time.....before the league was as into passing.

Some People Just Ought to Be Executed

I see your point and it's understandable. But, in the end we are probably too technology driven as is at times. People can remain anonymous and say all the crap they want without suffering the repurcussions face to face. Not to mention in this day and age everyone gets offended by everything. You don't know what you are supposed to say. A man can tell a woman at work she looks nice on a particular day and get sued for sexual harassment. Then again are we really all anonymous on the internet anyway? They probably know everything everyone says. Facebook for one is one of the sneakiest things around for the government to use to spy on people. I NEVER use it, I deleted my account years ago. I was totally freaked out by it and the amount of knowledge about personal lives people were sharing. Oh there I go.....I gotta get to bed soon so I don't go off on a rant about the government and privacy. Oh wait, I was already on a rant...night night all! Take care.

That goes with the game though. The refs. You have to overcome it but sometimes yes it IS blatant. Look at the Steelers in 2005 too.... Oh and people might forget but way back in 2001 a team with a nobody 6th round draft pick in his second year called Tom Brady got the benefit of one of the biggest BS calls of all the time when the refs called the Tuck Rule vs. the Oakland Raiders. They don't call that then the Pats don't win the game and likely no dynasty and Joe Montana 2.0 is not in development.

The Giants need to make the playoffs more consistently for me. I know we all want the big postseason moments. Hell I do too, as a Colts fan we have sometimes been starved of them. But, you still have to get there..... It says something to me as well if a QB can consistently help his team get to the postseason every single year.

Zack's top 21 QBs of All Time

Eli Manning is the luckiest mofo in the playoffs. For real. A miracle helmet catch vs. the Pats and he is some sort of postseason legend now when in reality the Giants ride their defense in any postseason they are in anyway. I was honestly more impressed by Flacco and his postseason run last year then I was in either of Eli's SB runs. Seriously. Flacco was tearing shit up for 4 games straight luck or not IMO this guy is underrated at times. And the Ravens D IMO was pretty overrated at times last year and was living on reputation. And Flacco teams make the playoffs EVERY SEASON. I have no idea why I am talking about Flacco. Shit. I am such a closet Flacco fan.

I feel as if Unitas is getting more and more underrated as time goes on. My father is in his 60's and was a Baltimore Colts fan actually. He always has told me Unitas is the best he ever saw play the game.

    Manning or Brady

21-3 so far in favor of Brady. WOW I did think it would be closer though. I fully admit Peyton has had some playoff struggles and sometimes I can't even figure out why either. Bad shit just sometimes happens to him and his teams in the playoffs and it happened in Denver again. Of course I consider him an odd rival now in a way being in the AFC and a rival to the Colts in standings if we should make the playoffs again, so I don't take it to heart if he loses now but if he is not standing in the Colts way I would not mind seeing him make a playoff run again either.
