  1. No, just about every Bronco fan will tell you that Mike McCoy was terrible and his playcalling was ultra predictable. And it was, I remember reading threads where people were calling every playcall before the play. He had a relatively small impact on how good our offense was last year. McCoy got the job because of Tebow plain and simple. Putting him in a read option offense was the best decision he made, but even then, he was still incredibly predictable and I think it made Tebow look worse than he actually is. Do you remember the Steelers game? He ran it on every single first down in regulation. It wasn't until OT that he decided the playaction pass had finally been set up even though the Steelers weren't worried about Tebow's passing ability at all.

You mean you actually think Tebow throwing on first down is a good idea? That's really only something you do two or three times a game. A run heavy team will almost always run the ball on first down. But that's beside the point. McCoy is the HC now, Wisenhunt will be calling the plays.

  2. If we are going to say the Chargers have a shot at beating the donkeys then we have to give the Chiefs a good shot at beating them at Arrowhead (the toughest place to play in the NFL IMO). The thing with both SD and KC is that I feel a lot of good has to go their way if they want to be competitive with Denver in the division.

  3. :Chargers:

    Tier One

-Eric Weddle: Best safety in the game; missing in 2012 was a joke.

-Corey Liuget: Good enough to go in 2012 and should be better this year.

    Tier Two

-Philip Rivers: If new scheme/personnel are enough for him to return to 2008-10 form.

-Antonio Gates: He needs to stay healthy, but if he does he ought to have the TD's to get a spot.

-Kendall Reyes: Great rookie season, so projected progress could get him there.

-Donald Butler: Should post some very good numbers.

    Tier Three

-Ryan Mathews: Always that outside chance he stays healthy, and the run blocking will be better.

-D.J. Fluker: If his pass pro is adequate, his run blocking might be enough to get him the nod.

-Vincent Brown: I expect big things.

-Derek Cox: Health is an issue often with him, but the talent is there.

-Manti Te'o: Could well be leading tackler and he's already a popular name.

I'd go ahead and throw Danario Alexander in tier 3, other then that agree 100%.

  4. Have you went through and watched Sherman play? Not just one or two games. Revis was better 2 years ago but I can't honestly say revis is guaranteed to be better this year. I can say that Sherman is the more physical corner who makes every wr fight for every yard while revis is a more fluid athlete who doesn't have to be physical to be in the right position in man coverage

No one can except Revis, really. Who knows if hes the same player coming off that injury.

  5. He doesn't. He placed Bradshaw near the bottom of the list...he was 4-0 in the SB. Unfortunately, performance in the playoffs DOES define QB's to some extent. Marino and Peyton could put Eli to shame in the regular season, but both have mediocre records in the post-season. Trust me, as a Phins fan it's a hard pill to swallow.

Yeah but once again..dig deeper than the record and it will show that Peyton is generally pretty good himself in the playoffs.

    Eli's postseason stats

Funny how no one speaks of 05, 06, and 08...what about missing the playoffs in 09, 10, and 12? IMO he is just too inconsistent to be above or even paralel with his brother.

Have to say though....2011 dynamite postseason for Eli.

  6. So you'd rather have either of the two QBs that look great during the season, but crush your heart during the playoffs year after year over the guy that stamps out the competition in the playoffs and has won two rings thanks to his own performance?

Obviously.....they are the better quarterbacks. Good, clutch QB no doubt but unless you think rings define a quarterback...Eli < Marino, Peyton.

  7. After this Twitter confrontation, Sherman went on ESPN's First Take and here's what he had to say..

So that leads me to ask.. who do you think is better? Or is it even a question at all? And what do you guys think of Sherman's interview?

Skip should've been like "Richard, I don't need stats to tell me Revis is better, I have eyes."

  8. So... What you're saying is that if we ignore all the ways Brady is better that he and Manning are pretty equal? Yeah, great logic.

Brady plays much better when it counts. He has an obscenely better playoff record. Not to mention 3 rings to Peyton's 1 ring that he wasn't even really responsible for winning. Manning played like ass that entire postseason. He was lucky to have a defense that was good enough to keep pulling his nuts out of the fire.

I really don't understand how this is even a discussion. Brady blows the overhyped schmuck that is Peyton Manning completely out of the water. Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who DESPISES Tom Brady and the Patriots in general. It's just that obvious.

At the end of the day, in a discussion about individual players I prefer to look at INDIVIDUAL stats rather than team stats. Even with that said, I gave the edge to Brady!!!! If its Colts vs Patriots, I take the Patriots 10/10 times. Overall, I think Manning is the better QB.

  9. Manning is 9-11 in the playoffs, while Brady is 17-6. While it's not entirely Manning's fault in all of those games, he does deserve to shoulder a good chunk of the blame. He chokes in the playoffs with boneheaded pick-sixes, fumbles, etc. that has earned himself a losing postseason record.

His lone Super Bowl win came from a surge from the defense, running game, and going up against lolRexGrossman. Anybody who thinks Peyton Manning is better than Tom Brady is just being delusional.

Individually, despite the playoff record, they are pretty much even with Brady being slightly better. So I don't think I'm being delusional by any stretch.

  10. Peyton is the best and smartest on field offensive conductor the game has ever seen. He changed the game with his on field audibles changing to plays and picked defenses apart. Also his fake gimmicking audible calls to throw the defense off their game. Phins brought up a great point about Peyton. Peyton was successful with the Colts and easily transitioned to the Broncos.

Wow am I the only one taking Peyton?

He has had a successful career when it comes to the postseason...one bad year and it was his third year in the league.

    Postseason Stats

Dutch's first line says it all IMO. I also think Brady benefited from the Pats being a great team when they won their rings just like Peyton did when the Colts finally put it all together.

  11. I actually think RG3 will be just as good next year, special talent with a coach who knows how to use him. Sure the read option may go away but he has all of the tools IMO to be a good pocket passer, oh and RG3 WILL always have Morris to fake to (barring injuries). Deadly in play action.

  12. 1. Peyton Manning

    2. Von Miller

    3. Jamaal Charles

    4. Demaryius Thomas

    5. Eric Weddle

    6. Ryan Clady

    7. Philip Rivers

    8. Brandon Flowers

    9. Champ Bailey

    10. Corey Luiget

    11. Tamba Hali

    12. Derrick Johnson

    13. Wes Welker

    14. Justin Houston

    15. Branden Albert

    16. Donald Butler

    17. Eric Berry

    18. Dwayne Bowe

    19. Darren McFadden

    20. Orlando Franklin

On the cusp: Alex Smith, Ryan Mathews, Kendall Reyes, Lamarr Houston, Eric Decker

    Hope I didn't forget anyone.

  13. Curious as to why you have Sam Bradford as your #1? Not that I disagree because they have a lot of potential on offense on that team. But just to spark a conversation/curiosity.

I expect everyone to disagree lol. Statistically, everything points to RG3 or Wilson. Oh and Luck (very much like Bradford) entered a bad situation and took his team to the playoffs. But I was big on Bradford coming out of college, a very accurate pocket passer. With the Rams finally rounding out overall, I expect Bradford to take the next step.

  14. LaRoy Reynolds, LB, Virginia: Rangy quick LB, just like Gus Bradley likes. He'll likely have to earn a spot on the team via Special Teams. I think he's got a solid shot as the Jags are light at OLB (though that may change after teams make cuts, since the Jags might pick up guys on waivers that'll jump ahead of him.)

Think Reynolds could surprise...was a safety turned LB at UVA. Not the greatest tackler but is pretty good in coverage.

  15. 1. Aaron Rodgers

    2. Peyton Manning

    3. Drew Brees

    4. Tom Brady

    5. Matt Ryan

    6. Big Ben

    7. Romo

    8. Rivers

    9. Eli

    10. Flacco

Honestly, 5-10 is interchangeable in my eyes. I can't for the life of me see why anyone would pick Stafford or Schuab over the likes of Romo or Rivers.

  16. A little harsh to leave off Dez Bryant, but then again I feel guilty for leaving Reggie Wayne off my list.

    1. Calvin Johnson

    2. Andre Johnson

    3. AJ Green

    4. Brandon Marshall

    5. Dez Bryant

    6. Demarius Thomas

    7. Fitzgerald

    8. Roddy White

    9. VJax

    10. Julio Jones

  17. I actually would have agreed with you (though I would freely admit my anti-Dallas bias) but then I looked at their stats (both have played ten seasons):

Witten: 8948 yards and 44 TDs on 806 receptions

Gates: 8321 yards and 83 TDs on 632 receptions

Witten's TD numbers leave a bit to be desired, but other than that he's way above Gates, and for a decent look at where they're headed, here are their totals over the last six seasons:

Witten: 6110 yards and 30 TDs on 554 receptions

Gates: 4943 yards and 49 TDs on 377 receptions

between those two you've gotta take Witten hands down

Gates has slowed down most definitely (foot injury has killed him) while Witten is definitely more durable but TD wise and ypc wise Gates is better. And if anything it shows Gates does more with less. 180 less receptions yet he is only trailing by 600 yards?

  18. oochymp, can't disagree with you. Tony G is a first ballot HOFer in my eyes. Gates, I think will get in but probably not the first time around. I tend to think the committee is more kind towards TE but that may change now.

Obviously, I'm biased but I'd take Gates over Witten any day of the week. And I'm not sure how Witten would get in and Gates wouldn't?

  19. Cowboys are getting massively underrated imo. No way I'd take the Falcons over the Cowboys.

It's probably about even between ATL and DAL but I would probably pick ATL because they have the best receiving duo in the league with White and Jones.

Denver is probably number 1....Welker, Thomas, and Decker were all top 20 in receiving yards last year.
