....sort of. He is not taking any action, more like just trying sweep these issues under the rug.

What action could he possibly take? He can't just up and change what the Church thinks or there'll be massive uproar.

People just assume that progress is a giant step, in situations like this, but the truth is that it's small steps, and you should be applauding Pope Francis for trying to get the ball rolling.

It's a breath of fresh air, I'll give him that.

I'll take some flack for this but I thought the Ravens were very lucky at times last season but that is beside the point of this thread.

I'm really beginning to think Rex Ryan is regaining some credibility with the way his defense is playing (so far). Sure the offense is a mess but I really do think its a talent issue, not a coaching issue. I guess the whole "New York needs success" type of thing will always have him on the hot seat though.

Ron Rivera is definitely on the way to being fired, a bit disappointing for me as I loved him when he was with the Chargers. I actually wanted him to replace Norv lol.

You have to be good and lucky to win a superbowl, but 5 straight seasons with a postseason win isn't all luck.

    Agreed

  4. Alex Smith is a game manager...its what he is. It's not even an insult, he is a great game manager but he really doesn't offer much more then that other than the odd scramble/run. It works with good teams like KC and SF. I rarely saw him complete a pass longer than 5 yards last night, not including YAC. With Charles and that defense, its all KC really needs as long as he doesn't turn it over like Cassel.

  5. Fantastic game, a little disappointed with our defense, can't believe we gave up a bomb to Jackson after they were close to hitting him 3 or 4 times. think we would've adjusted. McCoy is my new favorite running back. This guy is immense!!!!!! Made so many guys miss on what could've been 1 or 2 yards gains but instead were 7 or 8 yard gains. And yeah, Rivers is looking really good. It feels good after defending the guy for the past two years of disaster.

  6. The Good:

    Phillip Rivers

    The Bad:

The run game wasn't very effective, especially in the second half.

    The Ugly:

The Texans WANTED it more. They stepped up, we couldn't match them. Kind of expected given the Texans are a better team but we had a 21 point lead/headstart.

Bront Bird, he was torched three times in the redzone. (silver lining, he had 15 tackles)

O-line was shocking in the second half. Free runner at Rivers on the interception.

Defense couldn't get off the field on easy third downs.

Dropped passes! Royal dropped a easy first down off of a great throw by Rivers. (the dagger?)

Conclusion: I may be more of a Rivers fan than most but to me its blatantly clear he needs help on offense. Other people need to step up. He can't do everything. Our defense did good but missed multiple opportunities to halt the Texans rally.

  7. Fair result IMO. Scoreline at halftime was deceiving as I thought the game was close and the Texans were playing well. People are going to say Rivers choked but it really comes down to him having no help when it counts. Our run game was shocking, receivers dropped passes and didn't get open. At the end of the day, I can confidently say that w/o Rivers we wouldn't have been in that game. And IMO, his pick six wasn't helped by the terrible play call which left him completely exposed on an obvious blitzing down. Great play by Cushing too.

Lastly, its a tough call to swallow on the field goal but from the explanation it seemed like the right call by rule. Thomas went right over the center from what I saw.

  8. Good read, minor disagreements but other than that pretty reasonable.

I'm big on the Saints and the Broncos both of which should be higher on your list IMO. Really comes down to the Saints having some form of defense if they want to win. I think you were way too low on your Broncos (avoiding a jinx?), that offense should be legen.......wait for it.....dary.

  9. I don't quite get putting the Falcons on the top tier. I think they could have real problems on defense and that OL looks questionable, especially in the running game. The skill positions on offense are nothing short of elite, but there are some issues.

Defense is good enough to win IMO, they probably have the best safety duo in the league in DeCoud and Moore.
