Welcome back, for however long you decide to stick around. Hopefully a while, Satan spelled backwards.

Believe what you want. I have no reason to lie when I say the vast majority of people work hard but are only barely getting by. -
Crosby's point total.

I don't know anyone like this. Nobody can afford to call off with a hangover. I think most people actually do want to work... but wages are shit. Nothing motivates more than money. I don't blame people for not wanting to bust their asses for 7.15 an hour. That is a slave wage with modern cost of living, I don't care what anyone says. You can't make the argument that raising minimum wage would cause inflation to get out of control either. Inflation goes up whether the wages do or not. People are drowning and they don't see a way out. -
Pens won 7-0 and Crosby had a hatty. LolFlyers sean shook.

This is the year Jameson Taillon is going to break out. He has nasty 95mph heat and a true hammering 12-6 curveball... not to mention an above average changeup. It's been a long road for him, but he's made it.

I think phones give us a tool to evaluate how disciplined someone is. It's one of the tools I use when I'm on a date. If she's all over her phone during the first date, there won't be a second date. Cell phones are just like anything else... it's up to us to say when enough is enough... just like with food, booze, weed, charging your credit card, whatever. We already knew that the vast majority of people had very little self-control. Cell phones are just the newest proof of that.

Better to just hit ignore and move on... Some very interesting posts in this thread otherwise.

That's just the thing though... if a police officer with extensive training and experience is ineffective (as was the case at Columbine as well), are teachers going to fare better? Who will pay for their guns and tbeir training? How liable will they be when something goes down? Will they really be effective if needed? What happens if a kid steals the gun and kills everyone? Way too many questions without answers and problems without solutions here.
-
That AND think about all the work a teacher already does. If they're going to double as security guards, they would need to make a hell of a lot more money than they do now. It'll never happen anyway. I just wish people would forget it and look at this from other angles.
-
I don't know what the solution to all of this is... but I know what it isn't. There is an alarming number of people who think arming teachers is a good idea. Please stop that.

Exactly. Your perception of your own intelligence is just a mirage. Good for you for finding the courage to admit it.

The thing with Ben is more mental than physical. After all he was easily one of the top QB's in the NFL after about week 6 or so. Usually quarterbacks who have passed their physical primes get worse as the season wears on, but The Ben got better. Also he absolutely demolished the vaunted Jags defense to then tune of 42 points in 3 quarters, proving that the regular season game against them was indeed a fluke. That's my quarterback.

LeBron led every player in that 7 game series in points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals. He's the only player ever to do that. Oh yea and he topped it off with a Triple Double in Game 7, the 3rd player ever to do that. And Magic is not one of those players. He did all this against the team that put up the best regular season record of all time, and was supposed to defeat LeBron's Cavs easily. Meanwhile Magic's Lakers were heavily favored to win that series in 1980 anyway. I love Magic, but LeBron is a better player than him, overall. And it was proven in those Finals. I am a bit sad that you are surprised at me for having an open mind. I understand that LeBron has rubbed people the wrong way over the years, but using that to deny or downplay his accomplishments on the court is weak.

LeBron had the greatest Finals performance EVER just a few short years ago against the "greatest team ever." I realize Kyrie was pretty damn good in those Finals as well, but cmon, man!

Dude, I am a bigger Duncan stan than you and everyone else on this board combined. LeBron is the best basketball player I have ever seen in my life. It's LeBron.
