  1. I'm going to remake all these topics because we got too much shit in the others. This is for going into 2016, who are your top-10 players at each position? Rookies need not apply. (At least for me, not a hard and fast rule, you really love Zeke, then go for it.) First up: Quarterbacks. I want discussion, I want something more than just the list. Make Favre angry and leave A-Rod off entirely if you want. We need something to talk about. 1. Aaron Rodgers : Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood wasn't as happy a place to be last year as the years before. Most people attribute this to Jordy Nelson's year-long visit to the infirmary. Eddie Lacy went to visit Jordy one too many times and ate too many of the snacks over there as well. A-Rod didn't look like himself, that's for sure, but he still had a fantastic TD-INT ratio of 31:8. He posted his first sub-100 QB rating since 2008, (and that was still 92.7). When someone can put up those numbers and the season is considered a disappointment, well. I don't think I need to add anything else to that. 2. Tom Brady : Brady had O-linemen playing for him that came in out of the stands in his final game, (and his center was telegraphing the snap count), and was without a ton of starters. Yet he still lit up the league and probably goes to the Super Bowl if they don't lose to the Dolphins. Or the Eagles. Ugggghhh. Or if Gronk doesn't choke like a weenie in the thin air up in Mile High. Father Time has got to catch this guy at some point, right? 3. Cam Newton : Newton was the best QB in the league last year even without his #1, and this year he's getting back KB. If #CalvinBenjamin returns to form, the Panthers offense could be even more dangerous than last year's #11 ranking. (Don't give me this #1 offense crap, scoring offense is misleading.) The threat he brings to his offense is second-to-none, and only rivaled by Wilson. He's almost unstoppable inside the 2 and last year he took his game to another level, with only one turnover inside the redzone the whole season, including playoffs- and that turnover was an INT that bounced off his receiver's hands. If he continues to play like he did last year, there's really nothing more the Panthers can ask for. 4. Ben Roethlisberger : Big Ben looked set to have one of the most prolific passing offenses in the league in 2016. Martavis Bryant's suspension ended that certainty, but its still a good possibility. When you have the best wideout in the league, (spoilers!) in Antonio Brown to throw to, and the best running back in the league (more spoilers!), to take the pressure off your passing game, you can easily make the case that the Steelers offense is going to score a lot of points this year. Oh, and the fact that their defense looks kinda sucky. They might get involved in quite a few shootouts. 5. Russell Wilson : Man I hate this guy, but man is he good at football. He tore the league up in the second half of 2015, and if he plays like that the whole year in 2016, well he'd be very hard to beat for the MVP. His only real main concern is the Hawks ground game possibly not being all that great. If Rawls' injury has healed up, and he returns to what we saw in limited action in 2015, then that won't be an issue. Of course, there is the glaring failure of the O-line to protect Russ last year, but the Hawks kinda sorta addressed that need in the draft. Let's say the strength of their offensive line is TBD. 6. Drew Brees : Breesy is on the downswing for sure, but he's still putting up eye-popping numbers. Even without Jimmy last year, he still put up a few yards (4,870) and a couple TDs, (32 vs 11 INTs). His cap hit is huge for an aging vet, and the Saints defense just is too bad for Brees to reliably carry this team in ballgames like New Orleans apparently is banking on. 7. Carson Palmer : If you take out his last three games, Palmer had an MVP-like year. The season ending slate against Seattle, Green Bay, and then Carolina made him look like a below average QB- and that's being generous. So what to make of Mr. Palmer? Frankly, I have no idea. If he plays like he did last year, this spot is probably not high enough. But he could also be ranked in the 20s if he regresses. 8. Andy Dalton : Speaking of people who changed the way they played last year... Mr. Dalton used to be considered the "prime meridian" of QBs. If your QB was worse than Dalton, you needed a new one. If he was better, you had a franchise QB. Dalton himself was a major question mark. Except last year he was legitimately in the MVP race until he got injured. I need some more consistency from him to place him higher on the list. 9. Eli Manning : His big brother tied him in rings last year, clearly now Elisha needs to go get his third. Eli actually had a great year last year, with a 62.6 CP, 4436 yards, and 35 TDs against 14 INTs, (needs to cut down on the INTs a bit there). If Victor Cruz can get back in the lineup, and with Sterling Shepard looking good in training camp, the Giants look to have a pretty explosive passing game for Eli to throw to. 10. Blake Bortles : Bortles threw a lot of TDs last year, which is a great thing. He also threw the ball to the wrong team a lot and made some completely boneheaded throws. He's well on his way to joining the ranks of the very good if he can cut back on some of those dumb decisions and I like his chances to do that in 2016. Just missed: Andrew Luck, Tony Romo, Derek Carr.
  2. Yall know the drill by now. 1. Antonio Brown : No one else is close save for #2 on this list. AB is the best receiver in the league and has a good shot at taking the record, both for most catches and for most yards. It helps that he has a top-5 QB throwing him the ball. 2. Julio Jones : This guy is a nightmare to cover. He is the closest threat to take the crown from AB, though #3 is charging like a freight train. He does all this with Matty Slush throwing him the ball, a significant downgrade from AB's QB. 3. Odell Beckham JR : Only two years in the league and already the 3rd best WR in the NFL. Talk about a rise up the ranks. OBJ has ridiculous hands and great speed and route running to complement it. All he really needs is a bonafide #2 to really take off. 4. DeAndre Hopkins : DeAndre had some of the best stats in the league last year despite the hodgepodge of QBs that were throwing him the football. He's one of the best WRs in the league- and he's deservedly gotten that reputation with essentially no one across from him and no one throwing him the ball. 5. AJ Green : Green is one of the best at the deep ball and probably the closest guy we have to Megatron's skillset. If Dalton continues to get better, it will only mean more and better things for Green. 6. Jordy Nelson : Nelson is a far better WR than most people think. For some reason, he has a reputation of only being a slot guy, when in reality he's one of the best all around WRs in the NFL. A-Rod's numbers going down last year show just how good Nelson really was. 7. Dez Bryant : 88 was hurt last year, and still played through it as best he could so long as Dallas was in the hunt. With his QB coming back and hopefully his injury healing up, Dez can hopefully return to form. 8. Brandon Marshall : Marshall had an explosive 2015, one of his best years in a long time. He is perennially underrated by many, but given who's been throwing him the ball much of his career, it's past time to acknowledge him as a top WR. 9. Larry Fitzgerald : Fitzy had a resurgent year last year under Carson Palmer, showing he still has gas left in the tank. If Carson can continue playing well, Fitz may rocket back up this list next year. 10. Keenan Allen : Allen was on pace for a terrific year prior to his injury. He's got a decent QB throwing him the ball, and I look for him to continue his tear to start next season. Just missed: Allen Robinson, Steve Smith, Doug Baldwin, Jarvis Landry, Sammy Watkins
  3. Yall know the drill. Give me discussion, give me something besides just a rankings. 1. Le'Veon Bell : This guy can do it all. Passing, blocking, running, he's the most dynamic threat in the league from the RB position. His single issue is health. If Bell can remain healthy, he has a chance to be the best we've seen in a long long time. 2. Adrian Peterson : AP is still All-Day. He's still the best pure runner in the league, and the Vikings offense runs through him, which makes his job a bit harder than the #1 on this list. AP doesn't have a bunch of threats to take attention off of him and he still gets it done. 3. Jamaal Charles : Charles issue is the same as Bell's: remaining on the field. When he's healthy, he's one of the most dynamic threats in the league. As Captain Check-Down's go-to guy, he also racks up a lot of yards in the passing game. 4. LeSean McCoy : Shady didn't have that great of a year last year, but another year in the Bills offense may smooth things over for him. Having a dual-threat at QB does tend to open up things in the running game. 5. Eddie Lacy : Last year was a bit of an aberration. At least, so the Packers hope. Lacy is a fantastic threat out of the backfield when he's in shape. Just cut back a bit on the chunky soup. 6. Todd Gurley : I completely forgot about Gurley when I originally made this list. Todd Gurley is a force of nature running the ball and will be in the top-3 in short order. Just need to see a bit more out of him first. 7. Matt Forte : Forte is still one of the best dual threats in the game at the RB position, and instantly gives the Jets a reliable veteran in the backfield. He's on the back-9 of his career, but still a great back. 8. Doug Martin : Muscle Hamster is a bruising power back that I think gets buried in these lists because the team he's on is not very good. But Martin is a top-10 back in the league and has fantastic vision. And when he is caught, he is hard to bring down. 9. Lamar Miller : This is more of a projection, but Miller has a rather high YPC, he simply wasn't given the ball much in Miami. With DeAndre Hopkins taking the pressure off the run-game if Brock is at all serviceable, look for Miller to have the best year he's ever had running the ball. 10. David Johnson : Again, more of a projection, but I really liked what I saw out of this guy. He was about the only Cardinal to have a good NFCCG and through the year, when he got touches, he made the most of them. Arians simply wouldn't use him as much as he should have. This year, that changes, and so does Johnson's production. Just missed: Jeremy Hill, Thomas Rawls, Jonathan Stewart, DeMarco Murray
