The last New York win over Indianapolis came in 2002, two seasons prior to Eli Manning's arrival. The last meeting in 2014 was the only time Andrew Luck has faced Manning, and the two combined for 700+ yards, 6 TD and 0 INT in Indy's 40-24 road win. Pat Shurmur's first season in charge of the Giants got off to a rocky start at 1-7, but New York has won four of its last six. The Giants were shut out last week after scoring 40 points the prior week. They are the first team to score 40+ points and get shut out the following game since the Giants themselves did it six years prior on exactly the same weeks (14 and 15) and same days (December 9 and 16). After starting 1-5, the Colts have reeled off seven wins in eight tries to get in the playoff hunt. If they were to qualify, they would be the third team in NFL history to start 1-5 and make the postseason. They would join the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals and the 2015 Kansas City Chiefs. Through Week 6, Indianapolis allowed 30.0 points per game, 30th in the NFL, but since Week 7, the Colts have allowed just 15.0 points per game, No. 1 in the NFL. Rookie Saquon Barkley has rushed for 1155 yards and caught 82 passes. He is the first rookie in NFL history to rush for 1000+ yards and catch 80+ passes. He is also the first Giants player to ever accomplish the feat. Andrew Luck needs just 49 passing yards to reach 4000 for the fourth time in the six seasons he's played (missed 2017 season with right shoulder injury).
