SteVo+ 3,702 Posted March 22, 2011 Sources tell Tony Softli of ESPN 101 that the Cardinals are "enamored" with the skill set of Auburn QB Cam Newton.The NFL trade chart would require Arizona to send its second-rounder (No. 38), third-rounder (69), and first-rounders in 2011 and 2012 to Carolina to move up to the No. 1 spot. Such a trade is highly unrealistic, although the Panthers would definitely jump all over it. However, top Cardinals beat writers Darren Urban and Kent Somers both agree that Blaine Gabbert would be a better fit in Arizona. We wouldn't pay much attention to this "rumor." Source: ESPN 101 St. Louis I think we've all assumed to this point that the Cardinals would draft Von Miller and trade for a quarterback once the lockout ends, but this is a definite possibility if Newton falls to fifth overall.
