Thought it would be cool to share my knowledge in graphics that I have accumulated over the past 47 years in photoshopping. Every now and then, this will be updated with a helpful tut to make those who want to become better at graphics, become better.

 

#1 - Pure Colors

This is mainly for wallpapers and cover-making, but can be applied in sig making if you want.

 

Desaturate your Whites and Blacks

 

(1) Go to, Layer >New Adjustment Layer >Hue/Saturation.

 

 

(2) Set saturation to -100.

 

 

This will show up:

 

 

(3) Invert the mask by selecting it and hitting Ctrl + I

 

 

(4) With the mask still selected, use a white brush on 100% opacity and flow to paint over them whites and blacks (and greys if you wanna get fancy).

 

 

Its the small adjustments nobody would notice that makes the overall difference in graphics. The end result looks alot better than if this was not done. As said before, this would be noticed more in a wallpaper and a cover more than it would be in a sig.

Enhance Already Present Colors

 

Again, used mainly in wallpapers and covers, but also can be applied for sigs.

 

In a render, you will notice how there are other colors present in a primary color, especially if you apply effects. For example, if an image is noisy, there will be unwanted greens and blues in an image where the color you want is probably red or purple. Or maybe in general there are unwanted colors in the skin or some shit. I dunno, either way, it brings down the quality of the image and looks really bad.

 

Example:

 

Look at that. He looks like an oompa loompa. His purple uniform isn't purple and there's just about every other color in there except the ones you want. This can be because of the quality of the image, how old it is (VC on the Raptors in the 90s brah) and the type of camera used etc.

 

But what we are worried about is how the hell to fix it. Easy.

 

(1) Create a new layer, right click it > create clipping mask, and then set its blending mode to color.

 

 

(2) We are going to work on the jersey first. Hold down Alt with the brush tool selected to sample a good looking purple from the image. Alternatively, you can also double click the foreground color box at the bottom left (you know, the two little box thingies that show what colors you can switch between) and select a purple manually. Obviously if you're doing this with your render, choose the color you need to enhance.

 

(3) Select a soft brush, set the opacity to 40-60%, and brush over the purples in the render (or in your case, whatever needs correcting).

As you can see (left-ish), the color looks WAY better after using this method. It is now pure and has no other unwanted shitty colors.

 

(4) Repeat this process for ALL colors (if needed). You shouldn't overdo this process to the point where it looks unnatural. Only do this if it is needed and after you apply effects. NOTE: EVERY DIFFERENT COLOR SHOULD HAVE ITS OWN LAYER.

 

(5) Repeat again for skins. Then use my above tutorial to purify blacks and whites. At the end, it should look a little something like this.

(6) If you find the colors are too strong, reduce the opacity of the layers n shit.

 

As you can undoubtedly see, this method is superior for keeping colors true. This image can now be used in a wallpaper, cover or even sig without bringing down the overall quality of the graphic. There's nothing more I can say besides HOW MUCH BETTER DOES THE END RESULT LOOK??

 

That sums up everything you need to know about Pure Colors. Next we will move on to text tutorials in sigs and wallpapers, coz that's what I believe we can never be perfect in

#2 Cut Tutorial

 

Very simple. Just be patient etc. A massive cut might take you 15-20 minutes. Average is about 5-10 minutes. It's pretty fucking boring. So I'll use this super hot picture of Jesikah Maximus to keep your attention. (special thanks to Maverick for introducing me to her the other day at the city)

 

(1) Equip your pen tool. Or polygon lasoo tool if you wanna get crazy (pen tool is far superior)

 

 

(2) Start clicking an outline on them thighs. Make sure you are A LITTLE BIT inside so you don't get any BG (background) in the cut. Be patient, little clicks at a time to get roughly the right shape of them thighs.

 

 

(3) Fucking don't take massive clicks with massive gaps. Or it will become jagged and choppy and look bad when you have finished. BE PATIENT BRO. Small steps like seen in the above image. DON'T DO THIS MAYNE.

 

 

(4) But wait bro. If you're pro, you can do it quicker. And for the new people, once you get experienced with making good quality cuts with SMALL clicks, you can start doing some crazy shit. For a curve to outline the amazing curves we see, click and DRAG in the opposite (I think) direction that you want a curve. So if you want to curve to the left (like we do below), DRAG to the RIGHT sorta thing. Just play around with it till you find its a perfect outline of that part. Not hard, just need practice.

 

 

(5)Continue all the way around. Around the parts you love.... (sorry if you're using this for cutting out a dude)

 

 

AYYY TITS OUT FOR THE BOYZZ!!

 

(6)Once you've selected all around the good thing, right click and hit "Make Selection"

 

 

(7) Use these settings. Don't try to be cool and feather. You're not a bird. HAHAHAHA GEDDIT?

 

 

(8) Once selected, hit CTRL + X. And the background should be cut out. NOTE: If you selected all around the babe/player, that means SHE would have been cut out. If that's the case, just open a new canvas and hit CTRL + V. Don't know about Macs because they aren't real computers. Should look like this.

 

 

Obviously, her hair isn't cut out. All you boys look for is just cutting out a player with a helmet, not babez, so that's all you need. But the next part of this tutorial will continue on and demonstrate how to cut out hair if you like sexy-ness. STAY TUNED BROS.
