NaTaS+ 958 Posted July 24, 2013 via NFL.com The New York Jets just can't quit Braylon Edwards. The New York Daily News reported that Edwards will sign with the Jets if he passes a physical on Wednesday. Edwards stands a very good chance of sticking on the roster given both the team's dearth of receiver options and the uncertainty surrounding Santonio Holmes. Edwards isn't a difference-maker at this stage of his career, but he adds something to a unit that currently stands among the NFL's weakest.A deal would mark Edwards' third go-around with the Jets. The team claimed the veteran wide receiver off waivers last December after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks. Edwards previously played with the Jets in 2009 and 2010. The Jets hosted Laurent Robinson and Austin Collie for visits this week. It's unclear if signing Edwards would take the team out of the running for those players. theMileHighGuy 656 Posted July 24, 2013 I'm sure this move will be met with sneers and snarky grins, but I think there is plenty of upside here. Braylon just turned 30 and was at one time a productive receiver. If he's in shape he'll have a spot on Sunday in that receiving corp.
NaTaS+ 958 Posted July 24, 2013 (edited) BE will contribute if he's healthy. He doesn't have great hands (read bricks), but he runs good routes and can get open. Depending on who is throwing him the ball, I can see him having a --relatively-- ok season - 50 receptions, 600 yards and 5 TDs. JetsFan4Life 542 Posted July 24, 2013 I'd have no problem with Braylon coming back on the Jets.

Vin+ 3,121 Posted July 25, 2013 Jets re-signed WR Braylon Edwards to a one-year contract. This was fully expected to be finalized after Edwards went through a physical with Gang Green earlier on Wednesday. The 30-year-old appeared in three games for the Jets last season, catching ten passes for 125 yards. New York was in dire need of veteran receiver help with Santonio Holmes (Lisfranc surgery) still on the shelf. Edwards has a real shot to start in Week 1 against the Bucs. Source: Manish Mehta on Twitter The NY Daily News' Manish Mehta expects Braylon Edwards to start in Week 1. He'll likely get the nod over Stephen Hill at X receiver, with Jeremy Kerley at Z. More ominously for Edwards' already-poor fantasy outlook is the fact that Mehta expects him to draw Darrelle Revis on Opening Day against the Bucs. Edwards won't be worth drafting outside of exceptionally deep fantasy leagues. Source: Manish Mehta on Twitter
