Manziel reportedly has a history with the punchee, and the tense relationship "came to a head" the night before the wedding. The fight was broken up quickly, and the police were not called. Manziel reportedly sent a bottle of champagne to the man's room along with a letter of apology. It does not sound like anything will come of this incident, but it is not a great look for a player who has publically claimed he is trying to get his life together. Vin+ 3,121 Posted February 28, 2017 The Dallas Morning News' Naheed Rajwani reports the misdemeanor assault charge against Johnny Manziel is "on track to be dismissed under conditions." Manziel had a court hearing in Dallas on Tuesday in which the presiding judge lectured him on his responsibilities moving forward. "I want to see from you that you are taking this situation seriously," Judge Robert Canas said. "I would hate for you to miss on on the opportunity that you've got." For his part, Manziel said "everything has been going extremely smoothly" and his "life is trending upwards." Self-reportedly sober, Manziel hopes to make another run at an NFL career. Clearing up his legal troubles is a step in the correct direction, but it remains unlikely he will get another shot. A CFL job might be his best option.
