Big Match-ups in Week 6

Recommended Posts

Sunday:

Bengals @ Bills

Why We'll be Watching:

Can Buffalo get out of its recent offensive slump, and can its defense do anything to slow down a suddenly prolific Bengals offense? Will loud-mouthed diva WR Sammy Watkins play? There are so many questions surrounding this game that it is easily the most intriguing of Sunday's noon games. It'll be interesting to see if Buffalo's front 7 is the first grouping to truly keep Andy Dalton in check for 60 minutes.

Prediction:

27-23, Bengals

Chiefs @ Vikings

Why We'll be Watching:

Minnesota has a chance to prove people right and be above .500 as the season becomes established. Kansas City has a chance to start digging themselves out of the hole they've dug. It all comes down to Teddy Bridgewater, for Minnesota. The young QB has only thrown 2 TD passes on the season, and that simply isn't enough. In order for the Vikings to be consistent winners, they need to trust that Bridgewater's arm will have something to do with 1-2 touchdowns each Sunday.

Prediction:

31-21, Vikings

Cardinals @ Steelers

Why We'll be Watching:

Bruce Arians returns to his old stomping grounds--a place where he underwhelmed and where his now beloved passing attack didn't work consistently because Big Ben had no offensive line. Can he lead the Cardinals into Pittsburgh and remind Steelers fans that while he wasn't great there, he's a lot better than the oftentimes puzzling Todd Haley? We shall see. Arizona flies in with a plethora of weapons while Pittsburgh is trotting out the hilariously bad Mike Vick at quarterback. Le'Veon Bell needs to control the clock in this game in order for Pittsburgh to be in it.

Prediction:

38-20, Cardinals

Panthers @ Seahawks

Why We'll be Watching:

We all want to see Seattle fall to 2-4, and what better defense to continue to bring that to fruition than the Carolina Panthers? Though they are not nearly as well-coached as Seattle, Carolina has Cam Newton, and that may be enough to lead them to a victory over Seattle and their mediocre quarterback. Nevertheless, Seattle's defense is a different beast at home, and I expect that to take Carolina out of the game. 2-4 would sure be sweet to see, but it'd only happen if this game were on the East coast.

Prediction:

23-17, Seahawks

Patriots @ Colts

Why We'll be Watching:

The whistle blowers will be waiting for the final whistle by the middle of the second quarter in this one, as Tom Brady will go off. Rob Gronkowski will have none of Indianapolis' defense. Bold prediction time--4 touchdowns for the Gronk Monster. Tom Brady will be the Colts' personal Twisty the Clown in this game.

Prediction:

55-24, Patriots

Monday:

Giants @ Eagles

Why We'll be Watching:

The Giants have reeled off a few wins in a row while the Eagles have been somewhat a of a Jekyll and Hyde squad. They have a chance to put themselves in a tie for the division lead, however, as the Giants come to town somewhat beat up. Can the Eagles defense contain the fire-breathing Eli Manning who has shown up at the beginning of the season? Can the Giants defense help the Eagles offense revert back to the pure garbage that they've been for most of the season? We shall see.

Prediction:

30-24, Eagles
