Its sad that I'm so happy that the Sabres look like a mediocre team this year rather than a complete dumpster fire. At least at this point its clear Dahlin is legit.

Because it was was sucha comically sexist screed that's a serious response was honestly not worth it. Maybe a twinge of guilt would do some good but obviously not. I honestly don't feel the need to spare others feelings when they're being shitty. Sean, maybe one day you'll be a good person but you honestly aren't one now. You aren't the word that person I've ever met, or even the worst person here, but its still true. I know you won't give a shit hearing that from me but that's what it is. And to the rest of you, why does it bother you so much more when I make an asshole comment specifically to Sean, but not when he makes several about women in general? You shouldn't need a specific face to sympathize with people.

It doesn't matter that im not a woman. That doesn't make it ok for Sean to go off on this massive sexist rant. Like, comically sexist. Whether or not something is shitty to say doesn't depend on whether or not it personally applies to someone listening at that exact moment. If he went on a rant about how black people are dumb criminal thugs or something should I just say "meh that's fine I'm white." That level of selfishness (a defining characteristic or Sean) is garbage. He made a comment about how women don't get hit by men? Well I pointed out a damn good counter example. And ngata, if you actually gave a shit about not making stuff personal, I don't know why you'd say Phil was such a great guy. As I recall, he was the one that's called me a "Jew weasel" when he was mad about losing a bet.

And that's the difference. I think saying something shitty is bad even if it's behind someone's back. Also this is funny in the context of you men getting so offended.

Dude literally says this: But civility is so important? Stop being such sensitive snowflakes.

Glad your mom could help buck the system.

And what makes you think that?

I mean...being a white man?

What the fuck.

That article you just sent explicitly says she isn't claiming tribal membership. "I'm x% Cherokee" is such a cliche. Is it a bit dirty to use it on a college application? Sure. Equating it with legitimate accusations about attempted rape is ridiculous.

She just said she has some native ancestry. Not that it was a defining part of her life or that she grew up on a reservation. Just that she had a small bit of native ancestry. She proved she was right. And the reason this is different than Kavanaugh is that even in the most damning way to look at Warren, all she did was embellish her resume to get into law school. Kavanaugh's lies lead to attempted rape as well as other crimes. Conflating the two is absurd.

Sure. A month that she doesn't even run and an additional year if she does run on whether she wins?
-
Lol 0 chance Hillary even runs in 2020 and if she did 0 chance to win the nomination
-
Elizabeth Warren released a DNA test she took showing that she has a small amount off Native Ancestry, consistent with what she's been saying all along. Obviously the people that have been using it against her don't really care and are saying it means nothing but that's not surprising. What I think is interesting is that after all these years she finally chose to do this. Given that the people of Massachusetts clearly couldn't care less about this stupidity, I have to think this is a sign that she's at least considering a run in 2020 and doesn't want this to be a talking point.

Don't be a prude.

By "every indication" it looks like its Dana Roarbacher, one of the most blatantly compromised Republican congressmen, who is in a super-tight race. Looks like just trying to make some of the democrats in his district less passionate about getting rid of him by appealing to something popular.

Of course I'm not insulting you. My insults are never subtle. My point is that Christians love to pretend that the interpretation of the Bible wasn't used to justify things that society has later determined was bad (or at least they explain why that was wrong). My prediction that assuming in 50 years homosexuality is as accepted as interracial marriage is now (reminder that interracial marriage didn't hit 50% approval by the the American public until the 90s), Christians will have all sorts of reasons for why the Bible doesn't actually say homosexuality is bad. However whatever the new bigotry they're pushing in 2060 is absolutely justified by the Bible.

Voting is a personal choice. Not providing a service to the public through running a business. My point was if you didn't vote for Hillary, it meant you didn't really have a problem with trump being president since voting third party was equivalent to not voting. Im arguing that the US has already decided that "making a statement" of that nature is not legally protected in all circumstances. To me there is no logical reason for gay marriages to not be included. Also, my #HotTake: in 50 years when homophobia is a fringe belief in the US, Christians will say the arguments used against it were just as dumb as the ones you say about racism.

Oh btw the republican candidate for governor in Georgia, running against a black woman, purged 75k people from the voter rolls, 50k+ of them black people.
-
I'd argue there's a big difference between "Congratulations Tom + Joe on your Wedding" and "I, the owner of this cake shop, am a proud supporter of gay marriage."
-
The constitution defends all religions. Not a specific list of them. However, here are some verses used. The author has rebuttals, but there are other interpretations for the verses about being anti-gay too. http://www.religioustolerance.org/marracbib.htm And I keep putting them together because there is no rational reason that one should be ok and the other shouldn't. So I want bware to either say the exact specific reason (which is that he's homophobic) or more optimistically, change his opinion and support equal rights for gay people.
-
Again, you need to stop assuming Christianity is the only religion. If I truly believe that a God comes to me and says interracial marriage is wrong, and this is now my religious belief, should I be allowed to refuse service to an interracial couple?
-
In fact, I'd say that sexual orientation is way less of a choice than choosing to marry someone of another race. So, again why is discrimination against gay marriages ok, but discrimination against interracial marriages isn't?
