I don't think many players would attend if it's held weeks after the Super Bowl. I'm sure many guys use that time to go on long vacations.

I'm fine with your 2nd and 3rd points. Nothing more needs to be said really. You're missing what I'm saying though about my first point. You're analyzing the matchup trying to break it down on the football field - which is fine - but I'm not trying to do that. Similar to MHG's post above, I'm looking at the underdog factor. Denver should have been blown out a couple times now according to the majority, but they keep winning. My prediction is that the same thing happens in this game. That's the beauty, or some would say ugly side, of sports. Fans, experts, and analysts can make all of their predictions based on statistics, matchups, etc, yet in the first five minutes of a game all of that can be completely thrown out the window.

What Game Are You Currently Playing?
Maverick replied to Phenomenal TJ's topic in General Entertainment
What exactly did Destiny fail to be? The game is held in pretty high regard, IMO. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I used to think Tom Clancy came out with a new game every six months and they were all the same. If that was true, has it changed? Not sure what to think of The Division but it's certainly getting a lot of hype. -
1) No, the two scenarios weren't the same. Carolina was the favorite. A lot of people were saying Arizona was going to win, but just as many if not more people thought Carolina would win. Denver was at home and New England was favored to win lol. The majority of fans out there believed that game was going to be a blowout. I know you love to play the "Carolina gets no respect" card, but it doesn't apply here. The predictions going into championship weekend weren't the same...at all. 2) I wouldn't say it's entirely false. Of course the balanced team usually wins, but the team with the better defense usually wins, too. Most of the time they go hand in hand. I already stated that it's a little different in this case since Carolina's defense is really good. 3) Denver is #1 in overall defense. Seattle's defense is great, but I still think Denver will be the best defense they have faced this season.

Give me Denver 20-13, for a couple of reasons: 1) A lot of people picking a blowout in this one - which is a little concerning. Same thing happened last weekend with the Pats and look what happened. 2) Defense wins championships. Great offense vs great defense. We know how that usually ends up. I'll note that the difference here is that Carolina's defense is still pretty damn good so the motto doesn't entirely apply to this situation, but it still carries some weight. 3) It's worth mentioning Denver will be the best defense Carolina has faced this season. Having said that, I like both teams and wouldn't mind either winning. I prefer Denver because of Peyton and Ware, but I wouldn't be upset if Carolina won.

I thought it was a good call. Denver's defense was playing great. You finally get the ball deep into Denver territory and only need one yard for the first down. Who knows if you'll be able to drive down the field again because even if you kick the FG, you'll still need a TD on your next possession to win the game.

Really Chern, that's your prediction? Did you forget you were on TGP? Even if Five Head played lights out (which he didn't), there would never be a "Peyton jerkfest".

This thread won't end well on a board like Democratic Underground TGP. -

^your playoff hopes live or die by me. Show me the respect I deserve you insignificant piece of dirt. Awesome chapter. I loved the team coming together. Quite a twist by Harden, there. Wilkes is a bitch. I loved Mav putting him in his place. -
^Good man for using a gif containing a Liverpool player. I always knew you were a Red at heart. <3

Anyone above that used the words wife or girlfriend....you know the drill.

I'd like to see Peyton win another so TGP cries and Ware finally get one. Next 2 are interchangeable Fitz tho Big fan of Cam, Olsen, and Luke. I used to like them when I was younger, too. :Patriots: I don't despise them, but I don't like them and I'd like to see another team win it for a change.
-
Not sure who that could be lol
-
QB controversy LOL that's cute. Excellent chapter. I liked the parallels during the game that were referencing our SB loss against Seattle. Damn Seahawks. I hate them in real life and your book. -__-
-
Awesome stuff as usual. I love your endings. Always gets me pumped for the next chapter. Special moment between the star on D and the star on O.

Defense is going to have to step up big time for the rest of the season. Good chapter though, Steve. You're an excellent writer.

What does TGP think about re-seeding the playoffs?

I still love you blots, but you know it's true.

Ignore blots. He's by far the most condescending member here. The fact that he makes condescending remarks towards you and you don't bite back tells me you're a lot more mature than he is regardless of how much older he is than you.
