  1. I really like Gary Welton. I don't exactly have a word for his style but he's very into catching form in motion

  2. This show is so much higher on the Holy Shit scale than anything I've ever watched. Even in episodes that don't end with a big death or crazy turn of events it still gets a holy shit. Way more so now that I don't have as much of a read on what's gonna happen next.

  3. The Inhumans movie might have references to AoS, but that movie is so far off now that isn't even worth discussing IMO.

I thought they had removed it from the lineup. To be honest, I'd be surprised if it gets made. I didn't know all of that about the TV and movie aspects of the MCU being handled almost completely separately. Might explain some things.

I guess I'm more saying just a little acknowledgement that things are happening in other parts of the universe, similar to the obit of Peggy Carter that Coulson was reading a couple episodes ago.

  4. I finally got to the AoS finale last night, and that was fucking awesome

the LMD definitely opens up some interesting possibilities, but the biggest question they raised was when Coulson said "better call the director" who the hell is the director now and why did Coulson step down? Daisy separating from SHIELD could also be a great dynamic, and I have a feeling that has something to do with Coulson no longer being the director, but I really have no idea where they're going from here. As far as Ward/Hive, Brett Dalton has been a fantastic antagonist, but I kinda hope they go a different direction, though maybe using him as a LMD would be a different enough direction, resurrecting Ward as Hive definitely mixed things up, but at this point I think that line may have run its course. The evolution has been great and Dalton has done a fantastic job with what has to be one of the most difficult roles in the show just based on how much it's changing, but I think it's time to move on to something new.

I'm still beyond pissed that Marvel's Most Wanted isn't going forward, hopefully they find some way to bring Bobbi and Hunter back

You guys went way in depth on why the AoS finale was awesome and I agree. The actors have really gotten comfortable in these roles and its night and day from where they started. I would love it if they'd make it relevant to the MCU and give the inhumans and the AoS from the show some effect in movies. Even if it was just a mention or a couple of Easter eggs.

  5. Glad they didn't use the attack one at a time trope. Dayne was awesome, but they could have done more to flesh out his character and show how good he really was. Also, Bran seems to be able to affect history - pretty badass!

I wonder how that's going to play out. It seems like a pretty big effing deal that they just dropped in that scene.

  6. I would assume Jon is still a bastard as well because Rhaegar and Lyanna weren't married under these rules. :smug:

My guess is that Rhaegar and Lyanna were married secretly, if he was going to devote the kingsguard to her and the baby. Dorne be damned, Targaryans do what they want, and Rhaegar wanted another wife.

Also it's sad they did Arthur Dayne like that. Could've had him demolish with that valyrian sword like in books. Instead they wanted him to be some SUPER GOOD MLG TWO SWORD PRO. Also disappointed it was two kingsguard not three. I guess they just wanted to do Hightower and Dayne and not add in Oswell Whent.

I think there is so little time to set up the backstory mythos about specific swords in the show as compared to the books that it was easier to just make him look bad ass in another way. Plus Dawn would have to look pretty badass, would probably stretch the effects budget for a set piece that has never been mentioned previously in the show (as far as I can remember) and is not going to play a major upcoming role most likely.

  7. I'm fascinated by reading opinions on this because up until a few months ago I'd never even given it a second thought. I honestly don't think it's an issue. I work with a transgender man that you wouldn't ever realize used to be physically a woman. A full beard and deep voice, etc. I've never asked and never will ask if he has had surgery because it isn't appropriate in the environment but if he went into a ladies room, people would be more afraid of that then the other way around.

This seems like another non-issue to argue over while there are other things we can be worried about.

  8. Shall we protect drug dealers too?

No. We should put them out of business by legalizing the drugs... at least the violent ones I assume you are alluding to. If I can go to friendly and safe Grandpa Joe's drug shack for my coke or weed instead of Spike and Ace's Dirty Needle Dome, then I will (hypothetically since I haven't done drugs in 12 years or so). If someone prefers Spike and Ace's, well good for them. Likely there would be some regulation anyway in this scenario and Spike and Ace would probably have to use sterile needles or face Uncle Sam.

Same basic argument applies to all vice or morality crimes including prostitution. If adults consent and no one is being harmed (against their wishes) then increase people's freedom to make their own damn decisions. It's my right as a person to seek happiness. If that's how I choose to do so and IF I'M NOT HURTING ANYONE (besides possibly myself) then I should not be stopped.

  9. I work with police, Chern. I think this was was uncalled for if all the details are correct and nothing is left out. I also know some at least one cop that is a little too trigger happy when it comes to dogs.

That being said, I agree with you that the vast majority of cops are very good people.
