Great defense (and great special teams) can get you to the playoffs, but to win in the playoffs, and to win a Super Bowl, you need an offense that can generate points when you need it, as evidenced by San Francisco's loss today despite a stellar performance from their defense.

So...what's everybody's opinion of Joe Flacco after this game?
-
You kick the field goal because it's a chip shot (or should have been--lolBillyCundiff). But more importantly, you don't have to make this decision if Lee Evans catches the football.

Really sad news. One of the most legendary head coaches in all of sports. Rest in peace, JoePa.

I am not a fan of this genre of music, but instrumentally speaking, 3:38 is the sickest fucking breakdown I've ever heard.

I was hoping someone would notice that, Cuda.

Three reasons why Matt Flynn is the next Tom Brady:
1) They both had success at big name schools.
Brady was a QB at Michigan, before Lloyd Carr's demising years. Though he was regarding as more of a leader than a passer, he survived high expectations. Flynn was in a similar situation at LSU, taking the leadership role while players like Jacob Hester and Early Doucet got all the accolades. He was still a very smart quarterback and led his team to a National Championship.
2) They were both drafted late by good franchises.
Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots 199th overall in the 2000 draft. Under Robert Craft and Bill Belicheck, Brady had all the tools to flourish. Flynn was drafted by the Green Bay Packers 209th overall in this year's draft. The Packers were the youngest team in the NFL last year and still went to the NFC Championship Game. Flynn is developing with talent all around the organization.
3) They both look like Matt Damon.

Our non-conference schedule was left intentionally weak this season because our conference schedule is strong enough. Miami, Florida State, Clemson, and Virginia Tech will all be tough opponents, though we have the edge on paper over all of them. In fact, our team overall grade is now an A (was a B/B+ last season), which means in terms of talent, we're already elite in the land of college football.

OT Maurice Copeland, 6'5" 335lbs, Big Spring, TX, 4 stars
OT Casey Boyd, 6'2" 336lbs, Daytona Beach, FL, 4 stars
As you can see, we're going ham for a right tackle this season. It seemed to work for running backs last year, and that was only for depth. With any luck we'll find a guy who can be a starter at RT next year.

Notes
I'm rather excited about the recruiting of McDuffie...he's a talented receiver who happens to be 6'5". Between him, Matthews, Powah, and Stark on screens/flat routes, our offense should be downright lethal in the red zone.
Another note of interest: TGP received commitments from seven 5-star prospects, more than any other school. Ohio State received five, Texas and West Virginia received four, and no other school received more than two.

Welcome to the offseason, Crusaders.
In my experiences running the Trolls I've found that you guys usually don't like to get bogged down in offseason activities, so this process will be speedy. The two big things I'll be recapping is recruiting and summer training.
School Budgets
Training: 55%
Discipline: 25%
Recruiting: 20%
Normally a relatively even combination of all three is optimal, but since we already have a good starting team in place, our focus should be on making them as good as we can. We will be dedicating enough money towards recruiting so that we should be able to fill a few holes with a respectable class (more on that later).
Recruiting Central
Strategy
We were pretty successful with our in-season recruiting this past year, getting commitments from 4 running backs, 1 wide receiver, and 1 cornerback. The running back position is thus pretty much covered, so we'll continue to recruit receivers and corners in the hopes of building depth, as we all know slot receivers and nickel corners are very important, as well as tight ends. The bigger priority, however, is to find starters at positions where we do not have a TGP member: right tackle, kicker, and punter.
Targets
Lance Foster, WR, Spring Valley, CA, 5 stars
Anthony McDuffie, WR, Culver City, CA, 5 stars
Nick Brown, TE, East Moline, IL, 3 stars
Courtney Mosley, OT, Sarasota Springs, FL, 5 stars
Karl Garcia, OT, North Laurel, MD, 4 stars
Kenny Lindsey, CB, Coral Springs, FL, 5 stars
Brian Guidry, CB, Bellefontaine, OH, 4 stars
Austin McLaughlin, P, Lake City, SC, 4 stars
Richard Dunn, P, Lamar, CO, 4 stars
Stay tuned. More posts coming on recruiting results and then summer training.

The Dolphins coaching search is down to a two-horse race between Broncos OC Mike McCoy and Packers OC Joe Philbin, according to the Miami Herald.Interim coach Todd Bowles is a fallback option if owner Stephen Ross "cannot decide between Philbin and McCoy." If it was any other front office, we'd be shocked at that line of reasoning. McCoy is reportedly GM Jeff Ireland's man, though Ross "also thinks very highly of Philbin." Bowles remained in the mix until the end because "his presentation to Ross, Ireland and consultant Carl Peterson was impressive." The Dolphins' decision is expected to be announced on Friday.

Anyone that has Davin Joseph in their rankings fails.
Dude. Do you even know what you're talking about? Look at how many consecutive Pro Bowls Joseph has made. Learn football, retard.
