I think most people would and he will go before Stanzi in the actual draft. But I like Stanzi has a better shot in the long run. I don't like Gabbert, Newton, or Mallet at all. Colin I'm iffy on. Really like Ponder and Stanzi, and I think McElroy will be a good backup somewhere.
Good call on McElroy. I agree that he'll be a quality backup in the NFL.

Eh? YOU guys ruined the surprise by telling everybody about it. Silly bastards. You coulda just said nothing or been coy about it. It's not like I said there ARE new skins coming. I just said there should be. :beerchug2: :grinno:
Smart-ass.

+6 Justin Tuck
+5 Ahmad Bradshaw
+4 Barry Cofield
+3 Eli Manning
+2 Hakeem Nicks
+1 Chris Canty
The top two are on a level by themselves. It was tough narrowing down the other guys in consideration to four slots.
+6 London Fletcher
+5 Santana Moss
+4 Albert Haynesworth
+3 Vinnie Holliday
+2 Donovan McNabb
+1 LaRon Landry
Not a lot of talent on this team at all.
+6 DeMarcus Ware
+5 Jason Witten
+4 Tony Romo
+3 Gerald Sensabaugh
+2 Miles Austin
+1 Andre Gurode
The Cowboys really have a great team on paper. Really good players like Anthony Spencer and Jay Ratliff don't even make my list.
+6 Trent Cole
+5 Quintin Mikell
+4 Asante Samuel
+3 LeSean McCoy
+2 Michael Vick
+1 Jamaal Jackson
Vick and Jackson are both lower than they should be. Vick because he's just a one-year wonder right now, Jackson because of injury.

F4E is right; a reputation-related upgrade of the sort is coming. Actually we've been slacking so this thread is a good reminder. Stay tuned.
-
It's all good Titanswin. This is actually a good opportunity for me to get this out. And this is for everybody.
Since I can't PM everybody the second they go on the clock, check the draft order in the selections thread to see when you're next pick is coming up. All seven rounds have been posted in there, including compensatory picks. Know when your pick is coming up, and even better, if you don't plan on trading, send me a mini-board of the guys you want. This will all just help speed up the game and make things more efficient.
-
Alright fair enough. I'll start posting around shortly.
-
24 hours is up, so via auto-pick, the Washington Redskins select CB Brandon Hogan (West Virginia).
The St. Louis Rams (seanbrock) are on the clock.
-
Gabbert and Newton are both overrated, overhyped prospects who will probably bust, but I think that between the five to seven guys that could go in the second round, there will be some future starters. Christian Ponder and Ricky Stanzi in particular.
-
Well we were gonna surprise you guys, but an NFL Draft skin and team skins for all 32 teams are in the works. Stay tuned.
-
I guess this is a plot hole in our mock draft game now
-
Am I the only one who thinks that the field is too large? I mean, let's be real. Do guys like Brandon Lloyd, Marcus McNeil, Darren McFadden, and Glenn Dorsey really have a chance?
-
Bowers just became the most intriguing top 10 prospect in this year's draft.
-
On behalf of Durant4MVP, the Dallas Cowboys select, Jacquizz Rodgers, HB, Oregon State.
The Washington Redskins (Titanswin472) are now on the clock.

I think Houston would be a bit of a reach at 20th overall, but I could definitely see Tampa trading down to the end of the first round to grab him. That could also give them more ammunition to trade back up for a corner in round two.
-
Considering that Miles Austin is twice the receiver that DeSean Jackson is, it would be ridiculous to sign DeSean to this kind of money. Trust me, Philly, worry about locking up Maclin before you sign DeSean to so much that by the time Maclin's contract is up you can't pay him what he'll want.
For the record, Maclin really hasn't done anything to deserve anything more than what he's making right now. In fact, considering he was a first round pick, I'm actually a little disappointed in his production so far.
-
Awesome. This should be worth watching.
-
Mike Wallace disagrees....well, in my drunken opinion, anyways....
Hence why I said maybe the best.
Stevo, one question... Do you dislike diva WR by any chance?
Of course not. What would give you such an indication?
-
How many games will be missed in 2011?
Right now I'll say none. Call me an optimist, but I think they'll get a deal done sometime this summer. Training camp and such may end up being abbreviated in some way, but in the end I think we'll still get a full sixteen-game season.
Who's more at fault in this whole mess?
I've said before and I'll say again that both sides share fault, but since you asked who's more responsible, I'll say the owners. I think you can boil this entire situation down to the owners simply wanting more money. If they really needed it, they would have been a little more willing to open the books, in my opinion.
If there is no NFL in 2011, what will you do for a football fix?
Well, for the record, nothing will replace the NFL. I suppose I'd give the UFL a look, but mostly I'd just focus my attention on college football.
-
Actually, when you consider that nobody has sent me any boards and we're already in the fifth round, we're doing quite well.

AL East
1. Red Sox
2. Yankees (WC)
3. Rays
4. Blue Jays
5. Orioles
Red Sox are the best team in baseball on paper, and if they avoid injuries this year, they'll be on top of the East again. The Yankees may have starting pitching issues, but their lineup will put them in the playoffs. As for the Rays, as much as I want to see them fall to 4th or worse, their pitching will prevent that from happening.
AL Central
1. Twins
2. White Sox
3. Tigers
4. Royals
5. Indians
Gonna be another close race at the top, but I just can't see the Twins losing in the end. This could easily come down to who makes a bigger move at the trade deadline.
AL West
1. Rangers
2. Athletics
3. Angels
4. Mariners
I really want to call the A's to win the division this year because I really like them, but I don't think they'll get it done. Texas is too good. They will be close, however. Book it.
NL East
1. Phillies
2. Braves (WC)
3. Marlins
4. Mets
5. Nationals
The Phillies are probably not going to dominate everybody this year because they'll have lineup issues, but I can't see them not winning the division with their starting pitching. Also, don't sleep on the Marlins. They have a lot of young talent and could be contenders if their bullpen improves.
NL Central
1. Reds
2. Cardinals
3. Brewers
4. Cubs
5. Astros
6. Pirates
There is a lot up in the air in this division, so I feel weird about making such a seemingly gutless prediction, though it is my gut that tells me the Brewers aren't quite there yet--even after acquiring Greinke--and the Cubs will still be the Cubs. The Machine will carry the Cardinals the best he can but it won't be enough. I really like the Reds; they're gritty and know what it takes to win.
NL West
1. Rockies
2. Giants
3. Dodgers
4. Padres
5. Diamondbacks
So here's my surprising division winner of the year. (Last year it was the Rangers winning the AL West, by the way.) This is slightly homerish, as I've always liked the Rockies, but I think that second half surge you saw from them last year will be a full dosage this year.
AL Cy Young: Justin Verlander
AL MVP: Adrian Gonzalez
NL Cy Young: Josh Johnson
NL MVP: Albert Pujols
Divisional Series
Red Sox > Rangers
Yankees > Twins
Rockies > Phillies
Braves > Reds
Championship Series
Red Sox > Yankees
Rockies > Braves
World Series
Red Sox > Rockies

Pretty sure this game was destined for failure when BLEU included BC's name in the title.
