What are the worst movies you've ever seen?
Phins4life replied to BLUE's topic in General Entertainment
Battlefield: Earth. I've tried on 3 separate occasions to watch this movie...not because I thought I enjoyed it, but because I figured it would teach me how not to write. I still couldn't get through it, even from an analytical standpoint. -
8 in the Box Myth A discussion about AP in the 2500+ thread led me to post this article which I found just recently. CHFF is doing a piece on the top 4 football myths, and this was one of them. A pretty informative read, as seems to be the norm with their stuff. I admittedly used this argument in the past as well, and I was surprised to see how little 8+ in the box was actually used in the big picture. The QB must always be respected, even if his name is Ponder.

It's interesting to note that Barry was the only guy who managed MORE carries than the previous season. But that may also have to do with zero improvement in the QB situation .

Johnson didn't get 2000 yards...either way that doesn't really make the situations the same. As much as people like to say Peterson WAS the offense, it simply isn't true. A team HAS to have some semblance of a passing game (yes, 2700 yards counts) for a runner to pull it off, even him. Because the pass is less dependent on the run than the other way around, one could even argue that Johnson has a better chance of hitting 2000 yards than Peterson does, especially with so little balance in Detroit's play selection.

Read a Phinsider article that got me thinking about who on our team might have a shot at the Pro Bowl...the one that occurs in a vacuum where talent is rewarded over popularity. Anyway, going over our projected starting roster I saw a great deal of names with slight to great potential. One of those feel-good homer moments. Don't judge me. Let's go with Tiers...1-3. 1 is great potential...3 is the dark horse. Tier 1 Cameron Wake Mike Wallace Reshad Jones Caleb Sturgis (if the hype about his leg and accuracy are true) Vonta Leach* (purely a projection based on if we get him) Tier 2 Ryan Tannehill (a crowded list to fight through) Brian Hartline Dustin Keller Randy Starks Paul Soliai Jonathan Martin Mike Pouncey Tier 3 Lamar Miller (highly unlikely, but I can dream) Brandon Gibson (depends on how well Ryan spreads it around) Brent Grimes (has to stay healthy) Dannell Ellerbe (new face - new scheme) Dion Jordan (not even certain how he'll be used) Richie Incognito (depends on how well he blocks for Miller)

At least Stafford doesn't consider the ground a valid target.

If I were the judge, and knew I was bound by state law to pass that sentence, I would try to recuse myself. Don't even know if it would be possible in that case, but I don't think I could live myself. 20 years for a warning shot that didn't hurt anyone.... -
I actually take a little comfort in this...knowing that once the smoke clears the prices will likely drop for one of two reasons...age of the system, or lack of sales.
-
I don't think anyone with half a brain would argue against that point. Just a matter of all the factors and things that would have to go right.
-
Which kind of surprises me for a guy more known as a bruiser than anything else. I think we instinctively just associate smaller guys with being the bigger receiving threats...or at least I do.

Not diggin' this news. Give me Tecmo Super Bowl back. I'll just run bitches over with Bo Jackson all day.

Gotcha. Kind of a side note...it seems like VT gravitated towards scramblers quite a bit more than other schools for a while. Vick, Vick 2.0, Taylor, etc. Might just be me.
-
Were you a VT fan or just a Vick fan?

Any kind of gummy candy, especially sour ones. Sour Patch Kids are quite possibly the best candy ever created.

Goddamn that was an awesome hit. I remember watching that play and holding my own ribs. But you nailed it...Rhodes wasn't even blitzing the blind side...how the fuck do you not read that blitz pre-snap? He never even looked at him.
-
My fault for not looking it up We can merge it with the other thread if need be.
-
And I completely forgot about Gale Sayers, too.

I'm not sure how this whole treadmill fad has much to do with anything applicable to on-field potential. It's impressive either way, though.
-
That's definitely the other part of it. The Vikings run blocking got very little attention compared to AP, for pretty obvious reasons. But they still deserve a nod.

Careful...bad things might happen if you look him in the eye. -
I think Alexander is going to be one of those tricky draft picks. Half are gonna view him as potential steal and try to wait as long as they can. The other half are gonna snatch him up, reaching way before they should. He's tough to read, but either way I think his role increases, and he has legit WR2/Flex value, imo.
