Pretty pathetic. First responders on that day would have been the first people to invite...

Got the McCoy sig done. Was kind of expecting a different result, but hopefully it still looks alright. I'll understand if you prefer something a little less busy. Working on the Cole sig now.

Hey, GA. I'd like to take both of these if nobody is opposed. I could use the practice. Do you prefer any type of style? Grunge vs. Clean, etc.

I haven't seen one of these topics in a long time, and seeing that there are many people here who dabble in GFX I thought it would be cool. So how about it? Post your first ever sig as well as your most recent (or the one you consider your best).

Most recent (and probably my best)

I understand that football is a business, and that very good players should be well compensated for their talent. However, I feel like more and more talented young players are demanding veteran level contracts. The system just feels lopsided. I have enormous respect for CJ's talent, but I have zero respect for him as a professional, because up to this point he has shown very little class. Offered a top RB contract and still turned it down?? Seriously?? So I totally believe he should be paid well (he's paid far too little compared to some backups who make the same or more), but he should bring a more humble attitude to the table. It could make a world of difference.

I don't understand this move.

Very moving. A dog's loyalty to its family knows no bounds.

Saints have a very talented backfield, and most likely one of these guys will be gone. Who do you think is the best of them though? I know he's only a rookie and hasn't proved anything yet, but I really like Mark Ingram.
Ingram had the NFL ready physique since his freshman year. If he mentally adjusts to the pros as well as I think he will, he'll take that title pretty quick.

Ya... I think trying to hide somewhere in the middle of the sig, behind his shoulder would be better... Although it's hard to visualize in my head without actually seeing it...
Also, I think this would be a nice font to use to compliment the sharpness of the graphic:

Of course... It very well could look even worse... . Just a suggestion.
That's actually a pretty awesome font. I was trying to stay away from anything grungy, but that one pulls off a clean enough look.

Grabbed a random render and snagged some steps from a tut I forgot I had saved. I think it may be one of my strongest. Let me know, peeps. :beerchug2:
v1.
v2.
Third version with a blue lighting middle ground and a few other tweaks. Not sure how to do the tearing effect with a stock render yet. Might take a bit more practice.

placement is worse than font IMO but outside of the text this is really nice.
It's funny because I was feeling the placement but not the text . Although it's possible the flow gets disrupted by putting it at the bottom corner like that. I'll probably mess around with it later on t perfect it. Text has never been my strong point.

Serious props, PW. I'd rock it.

So a pretty resounding "no" on the text....which I don't totally disagree with. Is it the style and the placement, or just the style?

Going with the flow of traffic is the best way to avoid sticking out like a sore thumb. I rarely go 10 over, even if the general flow is moving faster. The less attention I draw the better.

Trying to play around with the marquee tool and gradient maps in this one. Now that I think about it, this looks a bit like the Nick Collins one I did a while back.

if Todd Haley don't want his third stringers getting their asses whooped then stop the Ravens next time.
The Ravens have more depth and it showed.
Haley needs to grow a pair, He's the Drama Queen of the NFL.
Directly from the dedicated KC fan. Pretty much says it all.

Kind of stumped. It's been a long time since I tried to make a cut, and I can't remember how to change it to a PNG cut without ruining the res or keeping the white BG. I'd appreciate a tip to point me in the right direction.
Edit: Nevermind. I think I figured it out. All I had to do was merge the cut with the bottom layer. I'm dumb.

I agree that it varies from case to case and person to person. I think people who are thrown into rapidly changing situations are more likely to favor them later on because it's what they are accustomed to. Take the military, police forces, or EMTs as quick examples. Growing up at home I was strongly opposed to anything that messed with my daily routine. 6 years after being on my own, I've become a little more open to it due to my career, marriage, and even a drastic shift in religious views. A lot of people only view change as bad because we are instinctively inclined to be wary of unknown scenarios.

The LLWS cracks me up every year. These kids celebrate K's like Jose Valverde and do the Eric Hinske strut on homers. Someone needs to remind these kids that they're 12.
Hinske strut:
Considering the higher level of impressionability with kids that age, they probably draw the inspiration from those exact type of Major League players. Maybe someone should remind those pros that they are humans whose shit also stinks from time to time.
As for the exploitation angle, I don't know, either way. I enjoy seeing what kids that age are actually capable of, and after seeing that Sports Science bit on ESPN, my respect for them has grown substantially. Seeing a kid throw a 70+ heater (or hit one considering I don't even know if I can do it) is nothing short of impressive.

I think the whole thing would have been a non-issue if Suh hadn't brought his hands so high for the tackle. From my comfortable seat at home, it looks like he had time to adjust for a lower hit, at least below the armpits. But I wasn't lined up and I didn't see what he saw or deal with a lineman in my face. But the rules are the rules, and the commish warned this was coming. Nowadays, when you tackle a QB that high, Goodell and the zebras are going to react pretty swiftly, not likely in a way that will make the tackler happy.
