    Brian Urlacher retires

Full page ad taken out in the Trib today by the Bears. This guy has been with the team ever since I started watching games. What an honor to have been able to witness this legend throughout the years. He truly is a piece of the Bears organization and not having him out there will definitely feel like something is missing, but I am glad I never had to see him finish somewhere else. Let it be known that he kept up the defensive dominance that this franchise has held for years in an era when the fans and league demanded offensive excitement. I'll still take a goal line stand on defense over a deep TD pass any day. Bear Down!

    My Logos

I'm not that great at making these look crystal clear, but I have been doing them for a long time and I think I am getting better. Check them out, let me know what you think, and if you want me to try one out for you, I would be happy to.

    2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs

What a game last night between NYR and Boston. Can't wait for the Hawks to be back on ice tomorrow against the team that shall not be named. Also, why hate on Eddie O? I'm also biased, but I think he's a damn good announcer.

Al Harris Retires As A Packer

I feel obligated to post this. Definitely what I will remember most about this guy. I have to say that I always disliked him, but I recognize his talent and have watched him play quite a bit being in the NFCN and in a TV zone close to mine.

    Happy summer everyone.
  7. Congrats to Minnesota and Rhode Island. This issue has really been evolving in recent months and I expect a lot of activity in the coming year. Illinois should be voting in the House pretty soon. It easily passed the Senate a couple of months ago, but they didn't have the 60 votes they needed in the House. The campaigns have been hitting pretty hard since (Brendon Ayanbadejo, among others, have been doing robocalls) and they now have about 60 or 61 votes, exactly what they need to pass it (including my Republican representative ). They will have to vote on it (as well as medical marijuana) soon or else it will expire with the end of the session approaching. If it passes, which it looks like it will, the Governor has promised to sign. I really hope it gets done because I want to be able to say that my state was one of the first ones to do this, considering that eventually all states will do it, and rightly so.

    Jason Collins Comes Out

Perhaps, but it will definitely make it easier for anyone who was questioning whether or not they should come out to do so.

    Jason Collins Comes Out

Good for Collins. His announcement should get more attention than the assholes who decided to jump on it with criticism. They have their right to free speech, but I also have the right to ignore them. Respect for Collins for opening up the gate for gay sports players, as I am sure there are others that are struggling with whether or not they should come out. He has made it easier for them.

Two blasts occur at Boston Marathon

BuzzFeed has done it again with a compilation of all of the amazing acts of kindness coming out of this terrible incident. Check them out: http://www.buzzfeed.com/erinlarosa/boston-marathon-tragedy-met-with-amazing-acts-of-kindness Also, Chicago Tribune Sports included a touching tribute this morning, as seen in my signature.

Two blasts occur at Boston Marathon

Thoughts and prayers to Boston and visitors today. Why people must kill each other is beyond me and makes me terribly sad.

  14. Absolutely ridiculous. There is no legal precedent that establishes that an individual is not committing a crime if they are unaware of the law. I know it is in a different country, but I can guarantee that the precedent is absent there as well.

My Republican Senator supports freedom to marry

I respect the hell out of him. I was not of voting age in 2010, but if he runs again in 2016, I will give him my vote, my public support, and possibly my money. He is the definition of a public servant because he is willing to put his health and his personal interests aside to do what is best for his people. Consider it an endorsement.

My Republican Senator supports freedom to marry

I don't know how much you know about Mark Kirk, but he has been representing me in Washington since 2001 (8 years in Congress, 3 years in the Senate) and this is honest. To be honest, he has been in favor of this for awhile and never endorsed it for party purposes. He has gotten great rating from socially liberal organizations, and I don't want to spread dirt on him because I like him a lot, but people have suspected that he could be a closet homosexual. This may have helped him politically, but it is a truthful and honst endorsement.

    Prop 8 and the SCOTUS

I have known people who became gay and suspected that it was because they were exploring or looking for attention. I have also personally spoken to people who were raised in conservative families and conservative towns where being gay was taught as wrong. These people have told me that they DID NOT want to be gay and grew up wishing they were not gay. However, they had homosexual urges despite wanting them to go away, and they eventually came out. In conclusion, there are some that may have become gay because of their own choices. However, there are many, many more, in my opinion, that are indeed born that way. Saying otherwise is incorrect and also insensitive.

Where are you seeing him? I am not a huge fan, but he is on Lolla's line-up this summer.
