Former NFL QB Johnny Manziel has been released by the CFL's Montreal Alouettes.

"I look forward to exploring new options within the United States," Manziel said. The NFL has no interest in Manziel, who was terrible in the CFL, but perhaps the AAF could be in play. It is believed the San Antonio Commanders would have the first shot at Manziel if he were to want to play in the AAF. The Commanders have been rotating Logan Woodside and Marquis Williams under center with no real success. Manziel would be a popular draw for fans, if nothing else.

  2. My guess is we all laugh about this when he's playing for the Steelers next season. (Maybe traded after '19-'20)

No I don't want his headaches on my Texans either. Amazing talent, but I like what the Texans have built in their locker room of no drama bs, and team first guys.

My question is...would Irving honestly ever consider the Knicks, based on a hypothetical that they MIGHT get Zion, if LA were making considerations to woo him?  Unless Kyrie just wouldn't want to play in LeBron's shadow again...

Well Kyrie had been on record saying he wants to play for the Knicks before being traded to the Celtics, and this was before any chance of Zion being in the plans. Doubt he plays with LeBron ever again. I didn't even know the Lakers were even rumored to be pursuing Kyrie...

Julius Peppers announced his retirement after 17 seasons.
Peppers, 39, was selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2002 draft and won Defensive Rookie of the Year honors after recording 12 sacks in just 12 games. Peppers spent the first eight years of his career with the Panthers before striking a mammoth free-agent deal with the Bears and spending four years there before a three-year stint with the Packers. Peppers returned to Carolina in 2017 with 11 sacks as a 37-year-old. Peppers' 159.5 career sacks rank fourth all time behind Bruce Smith, Reggie White, and Kevin Greene. He also picked off 11 passes. Peppers was a nine-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro and missed only six games in his career. He made just as big of an impact off the field. Peppers is a first-ballot Hall of Famer.
