Yes the contracts we have had during the Payton era have had a bad way of coming back and biting us in the ass. It is our own fault though. I am not opposed to trading Brees and going into full rebuild mode but I don't think anyone will give us much for an ageing QB who has a recent throwing shoulder injury and 30 million cap hit. Depending on how this year actually goes I can see them restructering Brees after the season and adding a couple more years to the contract if he is willing. If he isn't then they may just outright cut him and hope for the best with Garrett Grayson. As for cap trouble we should be out of cap hell after next year unless of course we completely shoot ourselves in the foot in the offseason which is highly possible. We still have to resign Cam Jordan and Terron Armstead. Bad draft classes have really hurt us as well. With the trade of Hicks to the Patriots we have noone left from the 2012 draft class. This past class seems like our best draft class since 2006 in Paytons first year.

Yes but him losing a step is still better than what we had who had no steps. I know he is from the area and I think he would be good depth and a good locker room prescence which is what we need. But not for 4-5 million a year, would be too exspensive for us I think

not saying I didn't love having him when he was here, but I have bashed him here for his lack of blocking and his going down with minimal contact while he was a Saint. I have also said when Gronk is healthy he is the better overall TE. If he can stay healthy for the full year then great for you guys but I wouldn't run Lynch towards his side.

In my mind we traded a soft oft injured TE who couldn't block and dissappeared against good teams for a desperately needed quality center and a first round pick. Yes we only saved 2 milllion this year but with this trade and the Grubbs trade and releasing Lofton we save 30 million in cap space over the next two years. I liked the trade. Josh Hill (the backup) isn't the catch machine that Jimmy was but he is a red zone threat that can catch and can also block.

Saints are always 1 billion over the cap yet somehow we always find a way. Alot of contracts are backloaded and are being restructered to signing bonues I think, or something along those lines anyways. I just hope he can stay healthy for a full year and build on what he did last year. Still going to miss Pierre Thomas more than we think

So if he is getting fined for not talking to the media why aren't others? And if the others are why is the media making a big deal about Lynch not talking. The grab thing, well being a Saints fan I personally hate it because it happened to us but I am biased on that. In fact it may have originated with us which makes it worse for me but then again like I said I am biased on that subject. The Saints have players who refused to speak to the media Colsten for example didn't speak until closer to the end of season and they wanted to talk to him since week 1 when he fumbled in Falcons territory in OT to give them great field position. I don't remember hearing about him being fined for not speaking.

There is alot going on with this topic. From what fans can gather the main reason he did this is his wife is a New Orleans native and would want to keep the teams in New Orleans no matter what. His daughter and grandkids however are from Texas, San Antonio to be exact and have expressed a desire to move the teams ot at least the Saints there. His granddaughter Rita has actually worked with the team before and supposedly went thru like 30 asssistants in like 6 months or something is known for being really hard to work with. She was removed from team affiliations and now just works at Bensons main headquarters with nothing to do with either team. Rita was inline to take over the sports operations upon his death but he has realized she will probably destroy it rather than make it better. Our offseason right now is more exciting than our regular season was

Offensive MVP RB Mark Ingram When we fed him the ball our offense actually looked decent. When we didn't feed him the ball Drew ran for his life or forced throws. Defensive MVP CB Keenen Lewis Still our only cornerback worth a damn, Had some semi bad games but still 10 times better than anyone else we threw out there. Rookie of the Year WR Brandin Cooks despite the season ending injury was leading most rookies WR in offensive categories. Hope he improves next year Most Improved LT Terron Armstead Easily our best offensive lineman and the only tru bright spot on the line this year. Made great strides from his rookie season last year Biggest Disappointment The middle interior of the offensive line and everyone on defense not named Keenen Lewis Best Newcomer (Free Agent Signing) None, all of them got injured and none really contributed before their injury Mr. Overrated TE JImmy Graham but but but he is the best tight end in the game bullshit, he can't block he always has some kind of injury as an excuse and unless he leaps over the first defender he is usually down on first contact and even leaping doesn't guarentee he isn't downed by the first defender Mr. Underrated RB Pierre Thomas as usual most of the smart people on this board know him and don't think of him as underrated, but for those that don't he is the most consistent RB we have in the passing game and running game and pass block.

I'll try to explain it. The Saints suck The Panthers suck The Panthers sucked considerbly less today. The whole NFC South sucks. Noone wants to win the division. At this point the division winner would pick 20th in the draft with at least 6 wins. When was the last time someone with 6 or less wins picked that far down in the draft? The Saints mecca of talent that is sussposedly there is all smoke and mirrors. The Panthers have Mike Shula as a OC so they have a legit excuse for the offense being woeful most of the time. The Falcons have no offensive line and not enough talent on defense. The Bucs...well. The NFC South is just a disgrace this year. The NFC South should just hand their playoff spot to another team that deserves it. As a Saints fan I will definately say we don't deserve it even if by some miracle we win the South.
