Garrett tries to defend shaky clock management

Donavan: That strategy is playing not to lose. Surprisingly enough, it normally makes you lose. You play to win the game. If you can't trust Romo, then run the ball. You would have had 24 seconds and a timeout in order to do so.

That was right after Newton's record-breaking rushing TD, (they haven't even kicked the XP yet). LaFell is just a bit excited. He was excited all game because we started him as the #2 WR like we should have been all year long and put Nanee in the slot. You're still missing the point. It was TJ Yates' team to lead, I'm not saying he is completely responsible for beating Atlanta. What I am saying is that if a team that has TJ Yates as QB can beat the Falcons, then Carolina certainly can in our home stadium.

Why did your team win/lose this week?

The Bucs could not stop Newton and the offense. We ran the ball effectively, and completely shut down LeGarrette Blount, (12 carries for 19 yards). We played a complete game, and didn't collapse in the 2nd half. Thus resulting in a dominating win over a division rival in their house. Bring on the Falcons.

    AFC Playoff Rush

If you don't and the Texans beat the Bengals, I think you're done. At least as far as the AFC South goes. Houston would be 10-3 and Tennessee would be 6-6, and Houston has the tiebreaker at that point even if they lose out and you win out.

From what I understand, stage 4 is the end limit. In order to reach stage 5, you have to be a stage 4 vampire and die. Apparently you then return to life as a stage 5 vampire. This, however, is only a rumor, though I did see it happen to a friend, kinda. I saw that he was a vampire, and I saw he died and came back to life, (the game did not load a save, I mean). However, I can find nothing on this anywhere on the 'net. Maybe no one else has found it yet, unlikely. Or maybe it was a really weird glitch that also gave him better resistances. And yeah it was. Like I said, if you had listened to the NPCs the very first one would have mentioned you look rather pale and should probably go pray to whatever god was closest to their town in order to get cured.

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

No? I'm pointing out that the main point of the argument is Bama doesn't deserve a second shot because why do they get the title if they split the series with LSU and LSU is half a game ahead? Ok State has the harder schedule, they are 6-0 against ranked teams. We don't do strength of defeat as a tiebreaker, so why was it used here? Strength of victory goes to OK State. Strength of schedule? OK State. Team that hasn't already lost to LSU and so wouldn't cause a clusterfuck if they do beat LSU? OK State. Bama also had their chance and they blew it. They all had their chances to make a knock-down argument and they ALL blew it. So it should go to tiebreakers, and OK State should win the tiebreakers, but because of name recognition, we have the fans and coaches picking Bama.

Garrett tries to defend shaky clock management

Romo and the team had just moved the ball down the field very nicely. You have to trust your QB. At least run the ball a couple times. You had two timeouts, use them.

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

The two best teams as ranked by the humans and the coaches. The two best teams according to the computers are Oklahoma State and LSU. Why is Bama a better team than Okie State? Okie State is 6-0 against ranked teams, Bama is 2-1. Okie State has the harder schedule, the better strength of victory, which as far as tiebreakers go is ranked above strength of defeat, which is what you and all other Bama fans are arguing eliminates Okie State. Strength of defeat isn't even a tiebreaker in most sports. Strength of victory is ahead of it in every sport that I know of. Bama has the softer schedule, the softer strength of victory, they didn't even win their own division, must less their own conference, and yet, somehow, we assume Bama is the better team because they hung with LSU, in Bama's home stadium, on the Tigers worst day and that makes them better than a team that hasn't even played LSU yet. Good teams do trip up. Look at Nawlins. The Saints lost to the Rams 31-21. Yet no one is arguing that the Giants are a better team than the Saints even though the Giants just lost to the best team in the league by 3 points. The main point, however, is regardless which team is #2 in the nation, Bama should not get a 2nd chance at LSU. It makes the first game meaningless. So while I'd argue that Okie State has a legitimate argument for being #2, in the end, that does not matter to me. What matters is Bama already lost to LSU and LSU should not have to beat them again. Stanford should play in the NCG over Bama, as well as Okie State. As Mathias so aptly put it: Rematches are stupid.

    K.C.'s run of luck continues....

Err Badgers, while Bowe appreciates your enthusiasm, your math fails. KC cannot finish 10-6 since they are already 5-7. The best they can finish is 9-7, and that assumes they beat GB, which is not going to happen. Realistically, the best they can hope for is 8-8. Both Oakland and Denver would have to drop 3 out of their final four in order for KC to tie them, (and then we have tiebreakers involved, no idea if that's even enough). I mean, you're assuming that the Matt Forte-less and Jay Cutler-less Bears beat Denver, for one. Ain't happening.

    NFL.com fail

TJ Yates's team put up more points than the Falcons. Carolina is not going to be held to as few points as Atlanta, was the point. Yates and the Texans are going to have to put up more than 17 to beat the Panthers.

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

So good teams never lose to bad ones? I guess there is no way the Saints should be considered #2 overall in the NFL because they lost to the Rams. We can strike out the Ravens while we're at it, since they lost to Jacksonville. So OK State blew a game. They had a harder overall schedule, by far, and more importantly, they *haven't already been beat by LSU.* If Bama wins, why does a 12-1 team who didn't even win their own division, much less their own conference, get the national title over a 13-1 team who did win their conference and split the season series with said 12-1 team.

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

Glad you've decided that on paper and OK State doesn't have to go to all the trouble of playing a game to actually find out. You're acting like there has never been a big upset in the history of college football. The point is not how good OK State is, that doesn't matter. If you think Stanford is better, then put them in the NCG. The point is, if you let Bama play, and Bama wins, there's a split national championship, despite how the BCS people will try to spin it. Does LSU win handily if Stanford or OK State plays against them? Probably. Is that an argument against setting up that matchup so we can find out? No, not when Alabama has already lost.

You can talk trash all you want today, you beat Atlanta with a 3rd-string QB, and I love the Texans for that. So you get a free pass. (Carolina's not going to fall as easily as Atlanta did to TJ Yates, though.)

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

I think it's more like an 8 in 10 chance. The point is, it completely puts to shame their mantra- every game counts. No, every game doesn't count. If Bama beats LSU the first game, they still have this same matchup. The problem isn't that these two aren't the best teams in the country. The problem is that LSU has already beaten Bama. They shouldn't have to beat them twice. Yes OK State would be a huge underdog against either one, so what? Why does Bama get the National Title if they beat LSU the second time, especially when they already lost to them IN Alabama? They should have to beat LSU twice. If LSU wins, it's all good, and it probably ends the same way. If Bama wins, we have a clusterfuck. And why do the coaches and fans, (fans being idiots by nature, and coaches admitting they don't really follow many other teams, and grading teams that they have played higher so as to look better- look at Mathias' article), outweigh the computers, which gave Ok State the #2 seed and Bama the #3 seed? Why is this horribly broken system still being used so that a group like the system that votes people into the pro bowl decides the frikkin national championship? (The computers are no better, by the way, the entire thing is broken. It's just name recognition that propelled Bama into the NCG over OK State.) OK State has a harder schedule than Bama. 6 ranked teams, I believe, they beat to go 6-0, while Bama has faced *three teams with a winning record.* You can say they are underdogs, but they deserve the shot to prove you and everyone else wrong. Bama had their shot, and we saw what happened: they lost. They shouldn't get another crack at LSU. This is not even pointing out the fact that Bama got to sit on their couches and watch the SEC Championship, while LSU had to go out there and play another football game. If Bama wins, a 12-1 team will be champions over a 13-1 team, who *has already beat them once*, and so the series is now split 1-1. Why does Bama deserve the title more than LSU in this scenario?

Did someone put a gun to your head and force you to go get cured? Seriously, play as a vampire. Or reload one of the autosaves. If you seriously went through all four autosaves without realizing that you had vampirism, that is NOT the fault of the game. They do everything in their power to let you know, "Hey, bud, you're contracting vampirism." This is a role-playing game. Meaning that to give you a "choice" as to whether or not you contract vampirism is stupid and immersion-breaking. You wouldn't get a choice if there really was such a thing as a vampire who bit you. "Oh no, thanks, Alfred, I don't think I would care to contract vampirism." "Oh very well, sir. Would you care for some tea?" What exactly did you want, a message to pop up on screen asking, "You have been bitten by a vampire. Would you like to contract vampirism?" You DO realize you can still cure vampirism even once it's reached stage 5? It's actually an awesome quest. There was no time limit on rushing to do it as if it was the only thing you could possibly have done in the game.

LSU-Alabama set for rematch in National Title Game

The team that didn't win their division, much less their conference, could beat that champion of their conference, split the season series with them, and somehow that gives them the title of best team in the nation. Lol. So much for the BCS's mantra: Every Game Counts. That first game is now meaningless. Whoever had won that game, we would have the exact same matchup now. I'm so glad that all you people have already played the matchup on paper and decided that OK State wouldn't have a chance. It's too bad they're not even going to be given one when Bama already had their shot on their own home turf, no less, and couldn't pull it off. We know LSU is a better team than Bama, they already showed that. Why does another team not get a shot?

    Rob Gronkowski sets TE record

It was originally counted as a passing TD- Brady did throw the ball to him, but it was a backwards pass, and thus officially is a rushing TD, (which means Brady didn't get credit for it in fantasy-land. )
