You don't many play RPGs do ya? You have a map, bud, use it. There's no mazes.

    Cam Newton is making history

Oh come on. That's a low blow. He's a rookie. Remember how many INTs Peyton threw in his rookie year?

He turned down an extension without a raise, is why I was confused. I thought they were saying the reason why he turned it down was because there was no raise.

What Game Are You Currently Playing?

So TOR is a nearly complete and total rip-off of Trion's way of doing MMOs. They just didn't go far enough to make it actually better. You have four classes on each side, (Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler, Trooper vs Sith Knight, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent). There are also four races which give varying racial bonuses. Each class gets two specialty classes. The Jedi Consular, for example, can become a Jedi Sage, (Healer), or Jedi Shadow, (Rogue). Each specialty class gets three "tiers" that you can mix and match points. Each tier has a special ability when at least 31 points have been put into the tier, (the exact same number from Rift). At least on Rift, you had 4 classes with nine sub-classes, and you could have up to 5 different soul combinations, (tiers in TOR), at the same time that you could swap to on the fly with no cost for swapping, (there was a minimal cost to reset points that increased with level, and maxed at half a plat at level 50, which was essentially petty cash at level 50). So TOR, as far as how it does classes, is a less versatile version of Rift. Perhaps this is also how WoW functions. I never did really get into that one. If that's the case, get with the times, Bioware, we've figured out how to do things better. It's like a step backwards. Rift started to go in the right direction with versatility, GA made it so that you could only have one soul, but you could change points on the fly with no cost. The obvious next step is to combine the two, not go backwards to only one soul that you have to pay for in order to change, with the cost increasing each time. It doesn't make a character too powerful, they still need gear in order to do much with a new soul/tier combination, but it does give someone a ton of options, like mixing and maxing gear so they're not the best at any one class combo, but they can do all of that class's roles well. The graphics are absolute shit. Knights of the Old Republic *1* looks better on my computer, both with everything maxed. This game's graphics are ~2002. This is not even going into the class balance issues. This was supposed to be the last beta, why am I still able to kill a guy 10 levels higher than me on a consistent basis as a Jedi Shadow? They've made no real balancing changes between the first beta and this one. In short: If you really want some more Star Wars, go play KotOR again. TOR is not worth the $60 release price with $15/month after.

    The NCAA screwed me

This just seems... wrong. You should have a right to use your name- as long as you're not trying to use the fact that you play football in the NCAA- in order to promote your own product. Have you thought about looking through the rules and seeing what the exact phrase is? I just don't get this. If a student-athlete was doing paintings, for example, and selling them under their name, (which would make sense since they're the ones that , ya know, did the painting), the NCAA could tell them they're not allowed to do that? I ask because a friend of mine who is really good at painting did exactly that and they didn't ever get told they had to stop.

    TGP week 12 power rankings

To be fair to Julio, they targeted him a grand total of one time, I believe, on Sunday. Complete mystery there to me. He was wide open on several plays due to some nice route-running and Ryan doesn't even glance at him.

    TGP week 12 power rankings

    1. (-) -A dominating performance in all phases against the Lions in Detroit along with a loss by the Niners gives them a two-game lead in the race for the #1 seed. If they get past the Giants next week, they have a very good shot of going 16-0- if they want to. It'll be interesting to see if Green Bay decides to go for it, if it comes to that. 2. (+3) -The offensive powerhouse that is the New Orleans Saints might be the best shot the NFC has at stopping Green Bay from waltzing into the Super Bowl. Their defense is a little shaky, but that doesn't really matter when Brees and Co. puts up 49 points. 3. (+5) -Winners of the Harbowl, Baltimore is looking good for an AFC North title. The division matchups against Cleveland and Cincy will be key in determining if they can hold off the Steelers, especially the ones against the Browns. The Ravens play down to bad teams, and they cannot afford to drop either game in order to keep pace with Pitt. 4. (-2) -Still an excellent job by the defense, but Alex Smith and company were unable to do much of anything outside of a 75-yard pass play that got nullified due to a Frank Gore chop-block. The Niners were able to beat the Giants without a run-game, but not Baltimore. However, does anyone in the NFC have an equivalent defense to do the same to San Fran? 5. (-2) -First they lose Schaub for the season, then Leinart. So now they're stuck with rookie T.J. Yates. It's as if Fate is trying to keep the Texans from making the playoffs. 6. :Patriots: (-) -The offense had no trouble against an Eagles D that had held Eli and the Giants to ten points. The defense gave up a lot of yards, but only 20 points- the recipe for a win for a Patriots team that just needs its defense to play decent in order to win football games. 7. (-3) -Yes, they won, but their offense was entirely shut down by Kansas City, and without Tyler Palko throwing 3 picks, the Steelers drop that one. They're going to need to play a lot better down the stretch to keep up with Baltimore in the AFC North. 8. (+2) -I re-iterate: When Oakland gets DMC back, look out. Carson Palmer is playing rather well, and the Raiders run-game and defense is doing the rest. 9. (+2) -The Boys nearly dropped that one to the Fins. Rob Ryan's redzone defense pulled them out of the fire. An opportune turnover inside the Miami 10-yard line gave Dallas 7 of their points, and then 4 trips that the Fins made to the redzone only resulted in 4 FGs. 10. (+3) -The Browns played the Bengals a lot closer than many were expecting, but Dalton kept his cool in this one and lead Cincy back in a must-win game. Of course, it helped that Cleveland's defense couldn't seem to catch an INT to save their life. 11. (+3) -Struggled against the Vikes at home, but by virtue of everyone else around them losing, they move up. They're still going to need to play better if they have any shot at beating the Saints in the Superdome, which they will have to in order to take the NFC South this year. 12. (-3) -Green Bay's defense pretty much shut down the Lions for the entirety of the game until it was all but over. Detroit needs to figure out a way to put some wrinkles into their offense, because without Suh for the next two games, I doubt the defense is as good as it used to be. And the Saints are up next in New Orleans. 13. (+2) -Yet another comeback win for Tebow and the Broncos. The defense is simply playing lights out, and Tebow is not turning the ball over, which is critical for a team that plays low-scoring games. Can they put up enough points to beat a team like New England? 14. (-7) -Caleb Hanie is not Jay Cutler. The Bears put up a fight, but fell in a game they probably win if Cutler is the QB. Can Hanie eke out enough wins to get this team to the playoffs? 15. (-3) -The Saints offense pretty much had their way with the G-men all night on Monday. The defense has to be fixed going into the rest of their very tough schedule, or their once-promising season will translate into a mediocre finish. 16. (+1) -The Jets did manage to beat Buffalo, but just barely, courtesy of a dropped TD by Stevie Johnson. Sanchez looked pretty good on that final Jets drive, but it was really the only time he looked solid all game long. Still don't believe the Jets will win on a consistent basis if they put the team on the back of Sanchez. 17. (+4) -Here come the cries of CJ is back again. He was playing against Tampa, the 3rd-worst run D in the league. Tennessee had to have this one in order to keep pace with Houston and it did manage to hang on for the W. 18. (-2) -A blowout loss from the Patriots when your team had a ten-point lead in the first quarter is just inexplicable. Why? Because the Eagles continued to insist on using Vy to throw the football instead of feeding it to LeSean McCoy. When you have a lead, grind it out and keep Tom Brady on the sideline as much as possible. 19. (-) -Blew the lead against the Titans and all but ended their season. They really need to fix the holes in their run-D, especially with the Panthers triple-threat in rushing coming to town. 20. (-2) -And the Hawks show that they are still a schizophrenic team at heart. They beat Baltimore at home, but can't take care of the Redskins? 21. (-1) -A great performance by the defense was derailed by the offense's inability to get into the endzone. Any one of those 4 redzone trips that ended in FGs is turned into a touchdown and we have a whole different ball-game. 22. (-) -The Bills put up a fight in New York, but their chances of winning and turning their season around slipped through the fingers of Stevie Johnson. You gotta think that if they had had Fred Jackson, the outcome is different in this one. 23. (+1) -A victory over St. Louis by 3 points isn't all that impressive, but a win is a win. Patrick Peterson looking good in the return game for Arizona. 24. (-1) -And the Chargers join some illustrious company this season for teams with streaks of six losses in a row or more: The Rams, Redskins, and Colts are the only other three teams to do it. Norv Turner's time in San Diego is most likely coming to a close with yet another disappointing season. 25. (-) -They played well on Sunday, and if the defense could catch a football, they probably pull off the upset. Their offense is certainly playing better the past two weeks than it has all year. 26. (-) -Yay, you beat the winless Colts. Barely. Thanks to an opportune pick by Sherrod Martin. Carolina lacks a killer instinct, you have to go for the throat in these kinds of games. After a 75 yard kickoff return by Pilares with the score at 24-19 with 7 minutes left, instead of trying to put the ball in the endzone, Carolina runs it 3 times and kicks a FG, leaving Indy still very much in the game. Good teams finish. I'm still not seeing that from the Panthers. 27. (+4) -The Skins managed to look like a team that wanted a win Sunday, as they snapped a six-game losing streak to beat the Seahawks in Seattle. Whether or not they will win another game is anyone's guess. The victory certainly came too late to salvage their season. 28. (+2) -Well at least one part of K.C. came to play on Sunday night against Pitt. One really has to wonder if the QB job is still Tyler Palko's after that performance and with Orton on the sidelines. 29. (-1) -The offense on this team is just pathetic. Defense is solid, but without an offense that can score or protect its QB, you're not going to win many football games. 30. (-3) -The Vikes put up a fight against Atlanta, but some questionable play-calling left them with yet another loss. This team really shouldn't be 2-9, but they can't seem to put it together. 31. (-2) -A loss to the Cardinals at home. Not sure what else I can say about this team. Bradford can't do it all by himself, if he indeed is a good QB, and 2010 wasn't just a fluke. 32. (-) -Another week and yet another loss. That may have been the Colts best chance to avoid an 0-16 season. Curtis Painter played pretty well, but made key mistakes in crucial situations that cost them the ball game.

Where does Jack Del Rio land?

Because he called him out in regards to two specific plays at the end of games, where HE should have been the one with the final call as to what play to run, not just the OC.

Official TGP Pick'Em Thread Week 13

You're 12 games ahead of him. Considering it was a week with only 13 games, I highly doubt he gets 12 wins. You'd still be in first.

    Coaches on the hot seat?

I actually agree with part of that: I don't think he should be. However, I do think he is, merely because of the unjustified hype that the Rams were going to take the West by storm this season. Not as much as these other guys, but if St. Louis fails to at least put up a fight a few more times... (they put up a good one Sunday, but it was against the Cards).

    OROY discussions

Why? Newton's the better QB with better stats in almost every category. Note, this is offensive rookie of the year, not offensive rookie QB of the year. Rushing stats count. Personally, I'm beginning to lean towards Murray. Dalton's not really in the picture to me. He's not putting up the same numbers as another rookie QB, with a much better defense. Cam has Andy beat unless something weird happens. Murray on the other hand, is playing ridiculous. I think Newton will take it because the award is biased towards QBs in the first place, but Murray is the clear #2 and only real shot to take it away from Cam.

Carolina? Please? I'm kidding. We need something on defense, but I don't think its a new DC, I think its lack of talent, or rather depth.

It's lost in translation. Kiin= rough equivalent is kin. It just means you're related. After all, they're not saying your mother/father was a dragon, merely that you have dragon blood somewhere down the line.

CJ's Big Day Comes After Munchak Calls Out O-Line

L.o.l. CJ2YdsPerCarry beat up the Panthers and Bucs, two of the worst teams in the league against the run, and now he's back and it was all on the O-line, every time? Kevin SMITH ran for more yards on Carolina than CJ did. When you're looking at his 2011 season, he has put up *decent* yardage totals against a good run defense a grand total of ONE time. That is called a *fluke* performance. The point the rest of us "ignorant people" have been making is that if you put LeSean McCoy, Matt Forte, Adrian Peterson, Steven Jackson, Michael Turner, hell, Johnathan Stewart behind that exact same Titans O-line, they would not be performing at the same crap level that CJ2YdsPerCarry is. Elite runningbacks still perform behind crappy O-lines. They may have not have absolutely great stats, but they at least perform. CJ got one of the biggest deals in terms of $$ in NFL History. He invited scrutiny. He didn't want to be paid merely as a running-back, but as a playmaker. And he is NOT performing at the level he was paid for.
  24. Thanatos

    Razor's Runner Watch 2011

We basically have a triple-threat in the backfield. Newton is as much a RB as he is a QB. Stewart is better than D-will, which is why I was asking. D-will is faster, but if he gets hit, he goes down at first contact, (ala CJ). J-Stew runs through and over people.

Wow, the first few hours were some of the best to me. It was like, wow, how big is this place? Don't just follow the main storyline, it's not supposed to be a linear game. Oh and also, there is no Dragonborn group of people, just fyi. You are the only Dragonborn, the Greybears are just there to help you along, but they're not Dovakiin, (Dragon-kin), themselves.
