  1. Folk was great at missing kicks before he came to Tampa, I don't know why they thought signing him was a good idea. He needs to go, like now. I mean, he's averaging a miss a game, barely clinging to a 50% success rate. You can't move forward with that... can you?

Although, the BUcs gotta be able to find the endzone in games like that. The defense was way too good against Tom Brady and Co to even think about giving a kicker the chance to spoil that one.

I agree that we have to punch the ball in, but fact is if Folk makes 2 of those 3 kicks then we beat Brady and Belichick. I just don't understand how we can constantly keep flubbing up at kicker, it's an easy and straight forward job but we can never find someone to consistently make kicks. It cost us the playoffs last year and if we miss by a game this year people will always point back to this New England game. At this point I don't even care about finding someone who can make 50+ yard kicks, I just want someone who can make the easier kicks when we need them.

  2. I want to say this team is ready to step up and get a big statement win early in the season, but I can't. I'm going to say Patriots win 38-17. We get stomped on Thursday night pretty much every year, and we struggle at home against AFC teams. Especially elite AFC teams. Belichick and Brady are steaming after losing to Carolina, and we're limping on defense right now. Kwon Alexander and Lavonte David are out, if healthy we can make the case that our LB corps is as good as anyone, but we're relying on a rookie (who is playing very well) and backups to slow down Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. We're also limping horribly at safety, T.J. Ward and Keith Tandy look unlikely to play and it sounds like rookie Justin Evans may be getting his first career start. That sounds like a recipe for a 400 yard, 4 TD kind of night for the GOAT. I believe in Jameis, but he'll be pushing it to try and keep up and make poor decisions.

I really hope I'm wrong but that's my prediction for the game, I still stand saying we'll go 10-6 or 11-5 but this will not be our best game. But I'll be a happy camper if they prove me wrong and get this one.

  3. For the Bucs...

    Good
-Jameis Winston. First 300 yard, 3 TD game of his career and huge bounceback from the poor performance in Minnesota.
-Jacquizz Rodgers. With Doug Martin's suspension ending after this game, Quizz had his first 100 yard all purpose game of the season.
-O.J. Howard. First career TD, even though it was a busted assignment I'll show him the love.
-Gerald McCoy. Blew up the Giants' run game throughout the day. We need some edge rushing though.
-Brent Grimes. How nice it was to have him back, last week's game showed how valuable he is.

    Bad
-Pass rush. Despite the Giants having one of the league's worst O-lines, Eli went into the locker room with a clean jersey. However, he also went into the locker room with his first career loss to the Bucs.
-The Jameis/DeSean chemistry. It's just not there, DeSean can beat his guy but Jameis is struggling to put the ball in the right spot. They need to get on the same page.
-Nick Folk. How hard is it to find someone who can make some fucking kicks?

  4. It's good to get the win, the performance was a bit shaky though. Nick Folk did his very best Roberto Aguayo impression, hell he just barely made the game winning kick when it was a chip shot from the middle of the field. The defensive line is just a disgrace outside of McCoy right now. We have ONE sack on the season and we didn't even bring the QB to the ground on the play! Noah Spence just knocked the ball out of Mike Glennon's hand in the pocket during the opener counting as a sack/fumble.

But Jameis had a nice bounceback game from last week's shitfest. 330 plus yards with 3 TDs and no turnovers. That throw to Brate to set up the game winning kick was money too. He still does not seem to be on the same page with DeSean Jackson.

Good win to avoid being in a early hole, but we got the champs coming to town on a short week and they're angry after losing today. Big test coming up.

  5. I don't agree with this guy much, but I have a lot of similar thoughts on this. I kind of wish people would care more about other humans more so than pride to make believe borders. I'm more interested in a person's individual values than the values of a collective group of people living in one part of the world.

  6. That's not true. They won the title in 2014 and were the 6th seed in 2015. They have their ebbs and flows. I'm not saying they're gonna be trash, just somewhere around the 3-4 seed.

I just don't see it. Kawhai could be the best two player in the league behind LeBron and they have the best coach of that group. We'll have to wait and see, but I think it will take more than collecting All Stars to be better than the Spurs.

  7. The flag is meaningless. Nobody is dying for anyone's freedom and have not for quite some time. You know what makes this country great? The fucking constitution. The right to voice your opinion and protest makes this country great. Maybe a bunch of rich white guys silencing the voice of their employee's would make this country great and I'm wrong though.

I will say two things here about your first two statements. Because I disagree with the first but agree with the second. The flag's meaning is up to the individual. It's why I hate hearing people bitch and declare that it represents our troops and freedom and what not, while that can the meaning to some, it doesn't mean that's what it means to everyone. No one person gets to decide the flag's meaning. I personally get no meaning from the flag at all, but I won't call it meaningless because it's everything to others.

The whole soldiers dying for freedom thing is a tough topic to discuss with some people, and I won't get into too much detail because this isn't the right forum to discuss it, but the actions of our military have been questionable for a long time and seem to have more to do with strengthening our power over the world than defending the freedom of our citizens, and I think centralized banks are kind of in the middle of this but again this is a discussion for another forum.

  8.

I think the important thing to realize is that freedom of speech is a two way street.

I don't think anyone has ever said that people can't voice their displeasure over someone's actions. Clearly plenty of people oppose the kneeling and plenty of us oppose their opinions. Nobody said they can't have the opinion, but some of us aren't trying to demand people participate in something that isn't necessary.

  9. Quite honestly, the Bucs were never going to run on Minnesota, even under perfect circumstances. Mike Evans was never going to be Mike Evans because of X. I should have had more faith in my team.

None of that matters from my perspective. The offensive line got man handled, and despite the talent Minnesota has on the DL they have to manage better then that if we are going to the playoffs. I honestly thought Evans had a solid performance, he was up against a tough physical corner and still was involved on offense. We clearly knew the matchup favored DeSean Jackson more and he had some success but Jameis and him are still off a bit so far. He missed on a few deep throws last week in the win where Jackson beat his man and overthrew him and in this game he underthrew him when he beat his guy in the end zone and threw a pick instead. We should have the options on offense to play well if Evans is facing a tougher corner, it's just obvious that they need more time to get the newer receivers comfortable with the QB.

Btw, I'm not trying to disrespect Minnesota or anything with this post I just don't like using the other team's talent as an excuse. With the expectations we have, we should've done better even with all the injuries on defense but that's why it's early in the year and there is time to learn and adjust.

  10. I dunno, Kawhi is a beast and Pop is obviously an amazing coach, but theres not really anyone else on that team I really like. I suppose they can surprise me but I think the Spurs take a bit of a step back this season.

Everyone says they are going to take a step back every year and they never do, lol. Besides, it's not like Houston and OKC have loaded rosters outside of their stars.

  11. Some people have no fucking empathy whatsoever.

Moving on to the anthem topic, this man basically says it all.

That was extremely well said. The big reason I am in support of these players is because I think this is a critical ideology debate in this country right now, whether to value freedom or to deny it in the name of patriotism. He's right, if we want to hold the American flag to some holy standard then people need to ban it on beer cans, undergarments and clothes in general too. It's a slippery slope IMO and hopefully we can move past the whole anthem thing to talk about the issues these athletes are bringing up.

  12. Kind of a shitty back to Earth loss for the Bucs. It's not time to go into panic mode, but our lack of depth at corner showed Sunday. Badly. I was not expecting Grimes to not suit up and it hurt us badly and he showed how valuable he is. Hargreaves is okay, but he hasn't shown enough for a player picked as high as he was and he ended up getting injured too. Robert McClain can't cover anyone (I know he had a pick six against Chicago, big whoop), Ryan Smith should never see snaps on defense. It's just ugly, we should've looked at some better veteran depth earlier in the offseason. Our safeties didn't fair too much better, especially Chris Conte who I'm honestly tired of seeing in the starting lineup every week. Even with being signed just weeks ago, T.J. Ward already looks like our best safety and needs more snaps ASAP.

The offense is still a work in progress. The line struggled, especially the interior and never gave our run game a chance. Jameis and D-Jax don't look totally on the same page despite connecting for their first TD. Jameis' accuracy for the game was actually pretty damn good for the most part, he just made several stupid hero ball throws. His last pick showed a wide open O.J. Howard but he forced it to Evans in triple coverage down the field instead.
