  1. do they have ot have been in the league since 2007 to now or just int he league in 2007 ? jim Harbaugh has not been in the league since then so I am assuming it is just as long as they have been from that point in time. If so.

HC: Bill Parcells / (Mike McCarthy if not)

    OC: Gary Kubiak

    DC: Rex Ryan

  2. Except for the fact that he won 2 rings coaching up a nasty Giants defense in the early 90's.

I love it... it's either ''Brady would be nothing without Belichick!'' or ''Belichick would be nothing without Brady!''. Just fucking stop already.

Yeah that is all fine and good an all except that the Giants during that time had Bill Parcells who would have succeeded with or without Belichik and that really cant be argued considering he has done it everywhere he has gone.

AS a HC honestly he sucked before he came to NE and we will never know if he could have turned the Browns around or not, but what we do know is the success he has had with Brady there. Not saying he needs him or vice versa but those are just the facts.

On his own Belichik has not done much, but with Parcells and Brady he has been wildly successful. Not saying it has been because of Brady but as I mentioned he was probably successful because of Parcells because well everybody who worked with him was for the most part. The Brady Belichik thing we will never know because Brady wont play for another team. Now if he retires and BB struggles we have a pretty good idea what kind of HC he is.

  3. First...I was thinking without him on the roster and the receiving corps he already has. But honestly we could evaluate him with or without another #1 receiver like you just did

Second...Gronks is only going into his third year and second year as an Elite talent at TE. And Welker was a bench warming return man in Miami before he came to NE. Graham just had his first huge season and Colston was a 7th rounder out of Hofstra. Not saying none of these guys can't play just a quick point that QBs like Brady and Brees (the two best IMO) have been doing it before they ever had legit WR especially Brady who has had WR who would not even hold a starting position on other teams in the past. So the same question wouldn't apply as strongly to those top guys.

Third...I agree Moss on NE = Brady having crazy numbers. So to that point we have to say a top flight guy most def gives your season a nice boost and leaves me to believe that Stafford without Megatron and no other new WR would fall in numbers. BUT I believe in his talent so they still win games.

Its hard to try and predict where they were drafted to the production they would have in a career. I mean as Cam Cameron has proved for years now that if you try to run a vertical offense with guys who dont fit then your offense will suck. Boldin was one of the top receivers in the game when he came to Baltimore and Cam sent him on deep routes and he has not been the same receiver he was in AZ when they had an OC who could use him well. This is was the case with welker, he just didn't fit and was buried on the depth chart. The Dolphins at that time were a run first offense and then deep to marty booker off of play action so he did not really fit the scheme as a third WR in the slot in that offense. He was perfect for the patriots.

As to Colston if his college was not Hofstra he would have went before the seventh.

Those two are still great receivers and in the right system would have been good anywhere.

  4. His highlights are impressive but they dont show you how many times he had to try those to get them.

I would rather a guy be able to hit a 15 yard out than throw a football into a trashcan.

  5. ^^^I just want to know how you see his career going without Megatron? I like your assessment. I think he wins without him, but not with the numbers he has put up.

I think he still would be just fine without him I have no problem with seeing him throwing for 4000 and 25 + TD's.

And when you say without hiim what do you mean. If he is just dropped form the roster than of course his numbers would suffer because his receiving corps is now Nate Burleson and Titus Young as his two primary targets. There are not many QB's in the league who would be successful under those conditions. Would he be elite who knows ? I doubt it and even with him he si not elite there are only a handful of people who can lay claim to that title such as Brees, Brady, Ben, Rivers, Rodgers and when playing Manning.

Now when looking at those guys they all have legit receivers and people who are going to help them with their numbers so if we are going to chastise Stafford who he has then why dont we do it to Brees for having Colston and Graham, or Brady for having Gronk and Welker, or Rodgers and Jennings, Nelson, and the like. And honestly stacking them up with Stafford he is probably at a disadvantage because Brady has two top tier targets, Rodgers has 3, Brees has two, Ben has three, Rivers has always had two or three. So that said what is better having one but him being the best or having 2 or 3 top tier guys. I would rather be in Rodgers situation where he has 3 guys who can all make plays on a consistent basis. So why is this not the question for them.

Rodegers has Nelson, Jennings, and Finley. Who does Stafford got Megatron Burleson and Scheffler or Pettigrew. It think I will stick with Ridgers.

He would not put up amazing numbers without Megatron but I guarantee you take away most QB's #1 they would suffer as well. Do you think it coincidence Brady put up his best numbers when moss way there? Now if you replaced MEagtron with Nicks, Wallace, Fitz, and so on he would put up similar numbers.

  6. I think another legit one with first rounders is they buy into their own hype. They think they are going to go into the league and be contributors with their natural talent. Not enough of them report straight to team HQ and eat, sleep, and breathe team codes of conduct, playbooks, weight rooms, and chemistry with their respective groups.

I am not sure of other teams players that do tihs like I do my own but I know torrey Smith the day he was drafted called Flacco for a work out in New Jersey since they could not get the playbooks. Then He called Boldin and started working on formations routes and more of the offense. his first three games were rough but he kept working and started improving very quickly. But the end of the year in the Texans game they put Jonathan Joseph on him instead of Boldin. That told me he had finally started garnering respect from the league through his play.

More rookies need to have that attitude. Instead a lot of them show up out of shape with no knowledge of the system so then they are behind the 8 ball come time to play.

  7. I think it is a good thing to pay your playmakers but this much at the TE spot can put you in a cap crunch if Tom Brady hangs it up in the next couple years and one of your Backups light it up, which in NE is a distinct possibility.

this also makes me wonder is this a changing of the guard in NE and we do not know it. What I mean is for a while now NE is trying t get their defense better so that way TOm Brady does not have to carry them all the way to the SB because that has proven to be a flawed strategy.

With that taken into account, if it pans out like the pats are hoping then in a couple years they are going to have some defensive playmakes they are going to have to pay like Chandler Jones, Donta Hightower, Ras I Dowling if he ever lives up to his potential, Devin McCourty. That is far more playmakers than they have on offense now.

So is NE going to become a defensive team once Brady retires ? I mean they have Gronk and i think hernandez leaves because there is no way that if he has a good season that NE can afford to tie up that money in the TE spot. I dont see any premier LT's getting paid the kind of money they usually command.

This could turn out to be an interesting couple of years for NE.

  8. He should have been honest with everybody from jump street on how he got hurt.

That said I think he was honest with everyone in the organization after both sides consulted a PR rep because of the timeline of how it unfolded.

to his credit though I really think that Bisciotti is one of the best owners in the league, the players really want to work for this guy and he makes it a point to meet and get to know every single person on the roster. Their was an article not to long ago from Cary williams who spent two years on the practice squad and talking with Bisciotti at practice. Just a good dude.

  9. Thank you for proving my point...we've only seen one legitimate year of Stafford. All I'm saying is it's not exactly right to say he's anything above average right now. One good season behind center doesn't make you a good QB...just saying we haven't seen consistency throughout his years in him yet.

Vick had one good year with the Eagles and last year was a bum and yet people still tout him as elite. Is that what you are talking about because before the eagles he was a really fast QB nothing in the way of an elite or really average QB

  10. Now that I think about it Yes. It does.

Considering that using the past to predict the future constantly gets slapped down every time this game evolves. And also considering how much they improved I would definitely say yes. I think they have a sustainable offense as long as Megatron is on the payroll.

And being serious why not ? Are teams not capable of turnaround. Also another thing to consider the guy they pinned the rest of their franchise on was injured causing a season that kind of skewed the actual potential of that team. Once they get a franchise guy back then they become a playoff caliber team....why is that hard to fathom?

What happens when the bears have to play caleb Hanie? And then Cutler comes back and they improve right ? Same thing here.

  11. Repeatedly pushing people's head into the turf, clotheslining Delhomme, constant unnecessary roughness penalties--no, he's not dirty outside of the stomp! Not at all.

The dude is dirty and even if it was 1995, we would all know it and would all give a shit because he wouldn't be getting the punishment he deserved.

No you think you know. I remember Reggie White doing that stuff, that is just how they were taught to play ball back then. I remember several players doing things like that and back then it was just called playing ball which is why you didnt really hear about this until Goodell got here. Greene for the Steelers did it, Bruce Smith did it, Charles Haley did it, and the list goes on and on, just because you dont remember it does not mean it did not happen.

I feel bad for a lot of cats because this is the football you know.

  12. I dont know about the rest of you but I am getting tired of all this well white people are still racist shit. Really ? Fist Zimmerman is not white. Second I dont have a racist bone in my body and it irritates the shit out of me when any particular race blames another for an isolated incident.

This neighborhood Batman probably would have done the same to a white kid because if he had his hoody up how was he ablt to identify color from following him ?

Listen up black people, white people, asian folks, Jews, Christians, Athiests, Man, Women and children. Get the fuck out of the 50's. The only reason that shit still happens is because people start shit where there is none. All the friends I talk to that are black said if this was a suburban white kid nobody would give a shit, it would just be another wrong place wrong time tragedy.

I cant believe people actually think this was racially motivated.

  13. Well honestly you have to ask yourself what is the upside to McCoy ? I mean I just dont see him as a guy who you are going to be able to lean on come crunch time. Weeden we dont know is he can either but with the way Rookie QB's are playing when given the reign's why not see what Weeden has?

I think this will get interesting come preseason. I think Weeden will be the starter before this year is in the books.

  14. I love these topics because it really illustrates the point of fact that Roger Goodell is ruining the NFL. In 1995 people would not even be seriously considering this topic.

As to the question, yes Suh is a dirty player. Should he be considered that.....other than the stomp no. That stomp was bullshit and the way he lied to cover it up was a little ridiculous. Other than that I think he plays the game exactly how it was intended to be played. Unforgiving and making sure when you hit the locker room there was not one extra thing you could of done to make a difference.

James Harrison is a victim of his mouth and not thinking before he speaks. normally I dont care about his but man you cant run your mouth like that to Goodell and expect him to take it like a man so constantly aggravating the guy and then wondering why you get flagged is a little ridiculous. Now I dont think Harrison is dirty in the slightest. Honestly if he wasnt a bitter rival I would buy his jersey (that hurt to say). The dude is big, he is physical, he is nasty, he is tough, and he plays with a chip on his shoulder trying to kick all the people that passed on him right up the ass. So needless to say I love the way the dude plays, in MY opinion I think the dude is a model for how the game is supposed to be played.

I think this all boils down to the simple fact that QB's now are pusscakes (with the exception of a few). I have seen Vonta Leach and several LB's go head to head and not a single referee gave it a second thought. He is an offensive player and a defensive guy hit him in the head. So what is the difference ? Oh yeah he isnt a QB. I have seen Ray Rice do the same thing. But these WR's and QB's play in a bubble. When Ray lewis hit Chad Ochocinco shoulderpad to shoulder pad and knocked his helmet off and got flagged I knew the league had forever been changed and we would see more and more "dirty" player's.

As to wanting Suh on the Ravens...how do you say it ???? FUCK YEAH !!!!! Him and Ngata would be a ridiculous tandem to try to contend with.

  16. Nobody who knows anything about football thinks the Lions would have gotten the playoffs last year if Cutler hadn't gotten hurt. Don't worry about it. We all knew the Bears were on a roll. Hell, I expected them to beat Green Bay in the second matchup.

Either way, it's pre-season hype. Who gives a fuck? Why let it bother you?

Why is that ? I mean teams get hot and cold and it is not uncommon for both to happen in the same season. If the Lions start going ape shit and cutler has another one of his signature dont give a shit games and his oline dont show up (which is a very real possibility) then he has people in his face all day.
