  1. Quick question, for all the NFC south guys.

If I am Tampa's GM I pass on Claiborne. I do not think he is the best cover corner in the draft, although he is very good.

With this draft being DEEEEEEEEPPP at a lot of positions of need, would you shop the 5th pick ? TO be honest I think you could pull great value from trading back to the teens and getting Keuchly, and then landing at least two other day two picks. I havent really given it much thought but what about something like

    Keuchly

    Jenkins

Adams/Zach Brown/Ronnel Lewis (whoever is there)

    Polk/Trumaine Johnson

    Zebire Sanders.

I think that would address a lot of whole in the first two days with guys who can compete day one.

I may be way off, but what do you think ?

  2. I hate to see any franchise lose their team because of economics. I am not sure what else can be done to save them though. That and LA has a bunch of money and the revenue would only go up with the population what it is and the big wigs who live there. This is terrible news.

  3. True enough Zack, but that Woodley thing and the steelers bending on him have put them in this cap hell they are in. Not saying it is woodley specifically but this new CBA seems to have Colbert's number for now.

  4. I dont know what it is in society now that makes all these rich people think they have to document every thought that occurs to them. Most cases it is useless information, and sometimes you get these.

What they dont realize is people are starting to follow them just because they are a mockery. Not saying Jab personally but in general.

I despise twitter because if you can some up what you believe to be an educated thought in less that whatever the character limit is, than either you are supremely intelligent and introspective or are an idiot. 95% of these are indicative of the latter rather than the former.

  5. Yeah, especially when you commit to picking for two teams

Also, my bad on having to be skipped for my 5th round pick, I was away all last weekend at a music festival and had no internet access, plus I was inebriated most of the time and frankly didn't give a fuck about no draft game :troll:. Normally would have sent a board but I honestly didn't think it would get to me, based on how slow it had been going.

Also, Ngata Chance know's his prospects and has made some nice picks, good job, sir :yep:

    Agreed

    Thanks gentleman.

  6. Something I noticed at the store today... You know how people always try to say eating healthy is expensive? I think it's time for a new excuse because you can get a pound of fresh fruits and vegetables for the same prices as candy bars or less.

Maybe that's just for me locally, though. I don't know what the national trends are for that.

It is correct but incorrect as well. You can get fruit from much cheaper than you would pay for other "snacks" now trying to cook with organic foods that are deemed "healthy" like the whole grain spaghetti noodles is more expensive than the others. Organic Ketchup (not exactly a meal unless you are a bachelor but just to illustrate the point), Leaner meats are more expensive and many other examples.

    *Votes for Ngata as President*

Ha I appreciate it and all, but do you know how fast I would get assassinated. Those big businesses and crooked politicians would make sure I did not escape the first year of presidency.

This country's elite does not want a no bullshit straight shooter and there is no way one would get elected.

  8. Have you watched his tape or are you talking out of your ass like everyone else on the internet that's trashing Poe?

I have seen some of his tape and it was unimpressive, he was not even double teamed most of the time. It is the conference USA so a dominant lineman like Brockers would have ate that conference alive. Poe had a really good combine true, but nobody knew who he was before that and if they did they were not talking 2nd or 3rd round pick much less top 15.

I see Amobi Okeye written all over him.

  9. SO if we have decided that the vast majority of voters are inept or that they cannot be trusted to vote on issues with any kind of logical persuasion or that they are so superficial and petty that race is the biggest issue this country is facing.

Not saying that this is my particular opinion but is the vibe I am getting here.

What about the electoral college ? I mean how big of a sham is this. These people are selected by the people who are most loyal to the party of the state that is electing the president.

And if you honestly believe that more black people did not come out to vote more for Obama than ever before you are nuts. Same goes with all the racist bigots who think this is still pre Jim Crow laws. And this is the sad state of affairs considering we are a country who is supposed to be past this. Being real though this country just glosses over the fact that there is still racism by both sides. You have self entitled black people who think reparations should be paid 200 years later while shaming their ancestors they are complaining about, and thinking white people are keeping them down. Then on the reverse you have white people who saying black people being in power is ruining this country and should have no representation in the shaping of this country. How about looking yourself in the morning and taking pride this is a country where any man can live comfortably if he is willing to make a honest living. Don't whine about how the good old days were good/bad depending on the color of your skin, but embrace a united America where we can learn from each other. But no instead we would rather vote on race because that candidate has my race's best interest in mind. That is what is killing this country are those idiots. And if that applies to you well then sorry you are an idiot, if it does not just take it as the venting of someone who is getting tired of race being a huge issue when there is millions of homeless people of all races in this crumbling fuckin economy. Maybe we should fix the real problems instead of voting over race.

Second lets not kid ourselves most Americans will listen to the talking heads in this country because if it is on TV it is true. The value of the written objective word is next to nothing, and in its stead we have biased media telecasts and podcasts who donate big money to candidates that they are backing which makes the platform bigger. If the media is biased towards an election with that much control over the masses it is not a wonder we are in the mess we in. Bush is an uneducated draft dodging hippy who could not tie his own shoes according to the media. And Obama is a Kenyan trying to play white and communist at the same time. And the sad part is I could make something up and people would believe it if the money was there and I wore a spiffy suit.

What happened to an honest America ? WE happened. This isn't a democrat and a republican thing this is an AMERICAN thing. We allow this garbage, we allow this assholes to reach our children's ears, so each one of us bear the burden of blame.

I am hoping a candidate who is a factory worker runs, he gets my vote. until then it is Ron Paul.

  10. With the 34th pick in the 5th round the Baltimore Ravens Select:

    Travis Lewis

    OLB/ILB

    Oklahoma

    Travis-Lewis.jpg

Cutting to the chase, If it wasnt for Ray Lewis and Suggs Baltimore's linebackers would be pretty terrible. Sure Kruger may be good if the coaches ever decide to solidify his position. That said we aren't young there anymore and this was the draft to go to the well. With Mychal Kendricks on board as well as Shea McClellin Baltimore gets some much needed youth and depth so they can sleep somewhat easy when Ray Retires. As they have learned you dont have to be any good to look good next to Ray (see Bart Scott.) I don't see Jameel McClain being nearly the LB he is when Ray leaves. While adding Lewis you are going to get a thumper in the middle who has good instincts. He also has the ability to fight off blocks well while making the tackle. He is athletic enough to be play well in coverage. He also can come from the edge or up the middle and play well. his frame is at 246 right now and with his speed will probably get the shove inside with 5 to 10 pounds of muscle and a 4.74 forty which is still respectable for a MLB. He will go nicely with Mychal Kendricks. The linebacker restoration in Baltimore is complete.

  11. With the 29th Pick in the 5th round

    The Baltimore Ravens Select:

    Sean Richardson, SS, Vandy

    9192_3897031.t.jpg

The guy has all the physical tools in the world. At 6'3" 220 he is a big safety, and he is one hell of an athlete turning in a 4.5 combine run with 22 reps and a 36 inch vertical. The schemes he ran did not really give him what he needed to showcase his ability. He has showed glimpses of being a playmaker and had an extremely successful year regardless. He needs to get better in coverage but he will sit behind the best center field safety ever. He already likes to hit so this could be a guy who is two years away from being a star, or a special teamer, but with that size and athleticism and the coaching he will receive from a very good Baltimore secondary and secondary coach he will be fine. he is very tall and rangy as well as a vicious hitter.

  12. I see what is happening here and I understand the concept. But megatron is the once in a generation player and could go down as the greatest at his position ever (although tracking Jerry will be hard) If youre doing the Calvin comparison then you have to put them in the same class. Like Jonathan Ogden vs Calvin.

That said though I would take LT all day. If your QB has six seconds to through somebody will break loose in coverage.

If I am the vikings though I draft Kalil.

  13. With the 35th Pick in the 4th round the Baltimiore Ravens Select:

    Micheal Brewster

    C

    Ohio State

    Brewster.jpg

He was considered a top 20 pick a year ago and then faded into obscurity. Not sure it was his talent more than the scandal of Ohio State and Tressel not putting a top 5 program out there. The Ravens have their heir apparent to Matt Birk and he is a big strong center, with measurable comparable to Peter Konz.

  14. Yup. It is very interesting how we pounced on this story. What made the news media make a big ruckus out of this tragedy, and not of, say, the 40 people who were killed in Chicago over St. Patrick's Day weekend? Including a 6-year-old child who was caught in the crossfire between gangs?

I do think it's because they thought they could make this one about race and the one in Chicago they couldn't do so, since the shooter and the victim in that case were both black. And it's terrible. They're both horrible tragedies, but the media really needs to quit playing the race card. Morgan Freeman was completely correct on that count.

What happened in Florida was a 17-year-old was killed by a 28-year-old in what was probably a vigilante attempt at keeping the 28-year-old's neighborhood safe.

What happened in Chicago was a 6-year-old being killed by a 21-year-old in a gang war. They're both equally tragic. The color of the shooter and victim's skin should have nothing to do with the story.

And this is true the media acts as if they are socially motivated about an injustice but that is rarely the case. I mean the whole fair trial thing in this country is getting harder and harder to have in this country. The media muckrakers like to make sure that everybody goes into a courtroom that is biased. These people do not live under a rock and it is almost impossible to have an unbiased jury.

The boy that was killed in Chicago is an equal tragedy I just think that in a gang war though it is harder to put a face on it.

I will say regardless of whether it was to protect his neighborhood it was not his job to take the law into his own hands. In my opinion it was murder plain and simple. You are going to have to show me that he was in fear of his laugh, which if that was the case he needs to stay the hell in his car and drive on or walk away.

  15. Exactly. It doesn't fit the storyline.

Half the people I talk to about this still think Zimmerman was white. When I said he was a hispanic, their comeback was "Well, he's a white hispanic."

    ...

    Really?

The more I read about this the more I think it wasn't an issue of race at all. The guy may have simply been an idiot, but he wasn't racially profiling.

I dont think it is race at all for him at least, he actually has a good track record of interacting with young black people in his community.

  16. The intake of oxygen is more what I am referring to. Until a child takes his/her first breath of air, the parents have every right to terminate the pregnancy. I know that my opinion may be harsh, and maybe this comparison isn't fair but; I see a fetus much like a brain-dead individual. When is it okay to "pull the plug"? When does a person cease to exist as a person?

The act of breathing does not make it a human being, but it makes it 'real', that is to say the baby is no longer a theoretical life. Until the moment of birth, the child could be born a chimpanzee, there is no way to know until it is born.

    {Slightly Tangential to main point, but just to give you an idea of my moral compass (or lack there of)}

I may not win many friends with this next thought, but here goes; I don't think that murder is that big of a deal. The only crimes that make me angry are rape and child molestation. Life is not that sacred to me, honestly it never has been. I have tried to take my own life, why would I care if I took someone else's?

Don't take that as me saying that I am going to randomly murder people for no reason. I am just saying that if the circumstance arose, I would do it without even a twinge of guilt or remorse. Age and/or gender have zero bearing, either. I would take the life of a woman or child just as easily as the life of another man. The only reason that I haven't done so is that I have not had reason.

the difference between brain dead and a child is the child still has potential and in all likelihood would develop past the point of being brain dead.

And all that other shit is easy to say....until you have to do it.

  17. Just as a preface: I have not now, nor do I plan on ever; 1) Taking any sort of criminal justice courses and 2) Really giving more than a half shit about this case...that being said: I shall play the devil's advocate role that I love.

    1) If I see someone, regardless of race, walking around my neighborhood at night, I am going to be suspicious. More so if I happen to live in a high-crime area. I have a duty to protect my home and family as well as the homes of my friends and neighbors. It is called being a neighbor.

    2) In order to give the police solid information on suspicious people, I would certainly follow them, even if instructed otherwise. Simply following them is often enough to dissuade any criminal activity.

    3) I would even go so far as to get their attention and let them know that I see them and that they are being watched until they reach their destination or leave my neighborhood.

    4) If the person I am following starts to act tough and feigns an act of aggression, I am going to do whatever I can to protect myself. If all goes well, the person won't have even had a chance to harm me physically.

As previously stated; the reason this person has not been charged with a crime is that there likely was NO CRIME committed. Sure it sucks that a child is dead, but that shit happens every fucking minute of every fucking day. This god damn nation has bigger shit to worry about.

...and now, let the neg-repping commence...

I will go point by point on this, I am not insulting you or anything or your ideas on being a neighbor because I do believe that in a perfect world communities would band together to lighten the load. Without further ado...

1.) Yes you have every right to protect your neighborhood and you household. That said no gun was found on this kid. So really what would you be protecting them from ? Getting litter int their yard from his skittle wrapper? If you are following the kid and he is aware you have eyes on him I seriously doubt he is going to attempt a burglary with you in your car right there. And as a part of protecting your family I am a firm believer that if lethal force is justified then use it. However Trayvon was gunned down with no means of defending himself, when Zimmerman was taken to the police station it does not look as though he had been beaten at all. So again with what was said what is it you were protecting people from ? A kid that was armed with skittles and iced tea which is all that was ever found. I cant believe that a man with a gun had no further alternative than to shoot someone with no means of lethal force themselves, especially considering that guns have quite a bit longer effective reach than punches.

2.) Yes by all means follow them....IN YOU CAR. Where you are safe so as to not get injured. Second in the Army as with self defense if you initiate contact now you have become the agressor. Sure follow him in your car and make your presence known to dissuade any wrong doing. Although you dont know if that was going to take place you dont know, you are GUESSING. So if you want to say hey dont do anything stupid fine, he may tell you to fuck off which he has the right to do since you are being presumptuous you can expect less than a friendly greeting. If you asked him what he was doing and he said getting out of the rain (if that is indeed the case) then ask him if you would like to call him a cab in the efforts of being neighborly. If you wont pay the ten bucks to get the kid a cab then you dont want to be neighborly nor is getting him out of the neighborhood a priority.

3.) Was answered in the previous two.

4.)I am sure that if you roll down a car window and asked me where I was going when I was just walking to a friends for the superbowl, I would reply, "Going to a friends house to watch the SB." If you then asked me well does he live around here I would reply, "Yeah he lives....." Any question outside of that is none of your damn business and I would tell you that. It is a gathering among friends and during a break in the action I decided I would likes some skittles. You have no business asking me what I am doing after I had answered the first two questions. You are not a cop or any sort of being in a position of power so what gives you the right to antagonize people. You also have the advantage of being in a car if things go south you can definitely get away fast enough to avoid bodily harm. If you are on the street what protection do you have. Also in any class you have taken about strangers as a kid the instructors as well as common sense tells you to get to a well lit area. If the person who owns the house comes out I will explain the situation because at least now there is a record of what has happened in case anything happens. And I would ask them to call the police. Who the hell is going to call the police on themselves if they are about to rob a joint.

I am also assuming you dont live on a private island (I could be wrong) but if you do not then it is likely you have houses next to you. If my friend lives 6 blocks away I may have to walk past your house, you do not own the sidewalks and can not tell me when in where to be if I have an invite from someone who lives there.

And he may not have committed a crime but a lot of things look weird when you follow an unarmed man and then someone dies and you claim self defense.
