  1. It's got to be the Bills. 2-0 or not, they haven't went 2-0 looking very good, that's for sure. EJ Manuel is going to sink that ship. Doug Marrone should have drafted his guy last year, Ryan Nassib.

Josh McCown expected to miss 'several weeks'

I'm 95% sure that a Glennon lead Bucs offense will be better than a McCown led Bucs offense.

    Chargers @ Bills

EJ Manuel is absolutely KILLING the Bills. They need to get a real quarterback behind that offensive line. Just terrible how many open receivers he misses every week.

    49ers @ Cardinals

Cardinals are straight up getting in the heads of the 49ers right now. The 49ers are complaining and yelling at the refs after every play that the Cardinals run.

    Goodell's Press Conference

This is true, but if you look at the suspensions or the way these things were handled, they were on par with how they were handled in the past. Goodell admitted he made the wrong call on the suspension length of Ray Rice. If he's committed to trying to change the problems they are having now, then let him. In a way, it's his job to make mistakes and fix them. You don't make ground on rules and regulations if you don't pinpoint the problems as they are revealed. By this time next year, this entire issue will be a non-factor in any sort of discussion.

    Redskins @ Eagles

Kirk Cousins has made a few small mistakes, but man, he seems to be the perfect fit for Grudens offense. I can't imagine that if Cousins keeps playing the way he has up to this point, it would be easy for RG3 to regain the starting job as soon as he's healthy. So rooting for Cousins to keep that job. Seems like he's got all the tools at this point.

    Vikings @ Saints

Honestly I'm starting to believe the rumors and assumptions that the Saints coaching staff isn't on the same page. Nothing seems to be clicking for them. For a team that many considered one of the top teams in the NFC (Much more maybe the NFL), it's starting to look like this could turn into a long season for them regardless of the outcome of this game.

Josh McCown expected to miss 'several weeks'

You know, the McCown thing never really made sense to me from the start. I get that he's a guy Lovie Smith is familiar with, but I thought Glennon did pretty well last year considering what he was working with and how poisonous the coaching staff was. Much more so, I think that this is solid news for the Bucs. You never want to see a guy get hurt, but if ever a better situation, this is it. McCown was all over the place against the Falcons on Thursday night. He's got two great receivers on the outside and he was over-throwing them, under-throwing them - just completely missing on his throws, and that's when there were times they were wide open, I mean he could have easily chucked a couple of touchdowns to an open Mike Evans. Glennon came in, and even though they still didn't look that great, I thought the offense looked like it ran a little more well oiled. Seemed like the offense had more chemistry and rhythm once Glennon was inserted. Just my opinion.

    Week 3 Predictions: NFC South

Great write up. I will say on the Falcons though, the ass handing they received against the Bengals wasn't really due to the defense faulting. Atlanta doesn't have a good defense right now, their front 7 is shaky and we have no pass rush what-so-ever. They did what they were supposed to do though, bend but don't break. The real killer against the Bengals was that our receivers couldn't break off 1 on 1 coverage and it was allowing the Bengals to send the house nearly every down. Against our already shaky O-Line, that's a serious problem and it showed. As far as Matt Ryan being over-rated, while I hate his ability to choke in big situations, I don't feel like he's over-rated. You're talking about a guy on par with some of the best quarterbacks of all time in their first 5 years. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the stinker in Cincinatti was an outlier. Take that as a biased Atlanta fan or what-ever. But I can't really call Ryan over-rated. Outside of those choke jobs he helped us along with (they weren't all his fault though), he's backed up that rating he gets. Not really sure why, but I think Cam Newton is ready for a big game here. Just one of those gut feelings. Definitely think that the defense will step up and hold the Steelers offense at bay. It's all about containing Antonio Brown IMO.

After last night, I'm not sure the Bucs would stand a chance against the rest of the teams on this poll list.

Are you for real right now? If ever a time where it's absolutely crucial you don't get yourself in trouble, players are still causing trouble? Just ridiculous. You actually have to start feeling bad for Goodell and company at this point. They just can't catch a break with this domestic dispute stuff. Just keeps happening.

Jamaal Charles diagnosed with high ankle sprain

From an ESPN Fantasy update. Andy Reid won't rule Charles out yet, and it seems like his limited practice yesterday went well. We're going to hear more today and tomorrow. I doubt he plays this week, but I definitely think if he keeps practicing, their going to let him play in week 4.

    Bucs @ Falcons

This game is getting ugly. The Coaching staff laid into the team real hard during the short week, they practiced until damn near 830p Monday night. They clearly were pissed off at their performance week 2. The Bucs are pretty bad this year, but it's not so much that the Falcons are winning, it's the physicality their using to do it. Our defense looks like they WANT it. Past weeks they've just been letting people do as they wish and hoping for field goals. I mean, everytime Worrilow has made a tackle he has been trying to rip the ball out of the carriers hands. That's insane. Regardless of how bad our defense actually is against better teams, if they played with that kind of mentality every week, no doubt they'd be better off. Much more so, The Bengals are a great football team. I don't believe the Falcons are bad, I think they've got fixable issues that are works in progress.

    Falcons @ Bengals

Whether I look like an idiot for thinking this game would be closer or not, I don't care. That was definitely a wake up call for Atlanta. Honestly, part of me wonders if they got TOO confident. Matt Ryan was all sorts of confident heading in, I'm sure he felt unstoppable after last weeks performance. The Bengals overwhelmed him big time. Bengals were superior in every facet of the game. Right now I'm just trying to figure out if Atlanta is bad and just defeated another bad team in the Saints in week 1, or if the Bengals are just ridiculously good on defense. You guys were absolutely right, that secondary is nasty. A lot of the pressure the Bengals were getting were just from blanket coverage on our receivers. What's scary is that the Bengals are so confident in their secondary coverage that they'll send 7 or 8 it seemed almost every down without having an issue. They were faster and stronger than our offensive lineman. Just really disappointed with our offense as a whole. Quite frankley, I'm pleased with how our defense played. Considering how terrible our defense was projected, I think that us holding them several times and even starting the game off with several field goals (even though they missed 3 of them I think lol) was great. At some point, you've got to keep the defense off the field, and our offense didn't do that. Steven Jackson looks as old as he is. He's slow, he's not able to avoid defenders like he used to, and he is really just not showing the burst when he hits open holes. There was one play that was a 10 or 11 yard gain half way through the game, he had a huge hole that he made it through. He didn't have enough burst when he got through it though to get up to speed. If that was Jacquizz Rodgers or Antone Smith with a hole like that, touchdown. Literally, there was one safety to beat and he was way off path if Jackson ran to his right. The speed just isn't there and it breaks up the entire offensive drive when he takes a hand off. Then there was the play early with the PA pass play, he cut left a little and put his foot right in the path of Ryans drop back, just a mistake that can't be made. I can attribute that to missing all of off-season. Jackson and Ryan haven't been on the same page yet this season, it's concerning because he's our lead back. I wish the Falcons would just drop him on the depth chart. Quizz, Freeman and Smith all have looked better in both games. So what's the running bet on how many consecutive games the Falcons will go before getting a sack? Our pass rush is non-existent. We can't send anyone extra because of how horrid our linebackers are in coverage right now, we need every man in coverage in the middle of the field we can get. I watched 3 or 4 times Worrilow messed up coverage. He was supposed to be in a hook zone on one play, he didn't drop back from the LOS as quickly as he should have, stayed on the run too long and it wasn't even a PA. Lots of work to do, nothing that's not fixable though. Bengals fans should be excited, that team looks complete right now. Hopefully Green and their lineman will be alright heading toward the playoffs. They should easily take that division IMO. PS - Mohammad Sanu has the best deep ball on the team. <_< Yeah, how about that! I knew that would happen. Bernard is an absolute stud, great career ahead of him. I think I may begin to say that about Jeremy Hill in the near future. He did great against our porous defense, but it wasn't that which surprised me. Hill has great vision on the field, and he's got a surprisingly good amount of speed to him. Scary that two running backs like that are on the same team.

    Update: AP returns to Vikings

Again, that's where the whole child abuse/discipline debate comes in. You can't compare an attempt at disciplining your child the same as molestation. Why? Because molesting a child isn't right, period. There is no gray area AT ALL. There's a massive gray area in the area of child discipline and it's been that way dating back to the early 50's. What you just tried to compare is like comparing slavery and employment with unfair wages IMO. Do you know how many Americans wrongfully discipline their child in the country without realizing that the way they are disciplining is incorrect/wrong? You should have a good idea that the number is absolutely huge. I guarantee that you can walk into a department store like Walmart or KMart on any given day and hear a woman or man saying something along the lines of "....and you're going to get a whoopin' " etc. Much more so, the black community draws different lines in terms of discipline. Before we start replying that it's racist to "assume" such, there have been studies done and it is a fact. Much more so, you can go more in depth than just black and white, you go look at studies of children discipline and establish that people who live in the south have different and more "hands-on" methods than people in the north. It's an adaptation of lifestyle, generational opinions, and family history. It's sad that people hit their kids with objects, especially in this generation, but it happens and it is something a lot of people in the world believe works best. Again, goes back to the "shock" factor. This is a terrible comparison as well but it gets the point across, much like people think that putting a shock collar on a dog will quickly teach them not to bark or to stay in the yard, people believe smacking their child or hitting them with a ruler/switch will give them a shock factor not to perform the frowned upon action. It takes so much patience to put your kids in a corner, have a time out chair, or any sort of time out. Patience isn't something Americans have, especially when it comes to disciplining a child. They want the unnecessary actions ended quickly, unfortunately their going about it wrong by using unnecessary actions to discipline the child. Which, is why you get the full circle that people grow up believing it's "ok" to use switches and other tools. Stupid and unfortunate? Yes. Is it completely their fault they think this way? No. Can it be stopped? Doubtful. These days you can't even tell you're child that if they don't eat the dinner in front of them, they aren't getting any more food - without someone claiming neglect. I believe that the Vikings need to declare Peterson inactive for at least a few games before the league even decides what they are going to do. This will look good on the NFL's part and help the league buy time before their decision is made official.

I don't know. I guess we'll see. Any team with 4, possibly even 5 receivers who can be on th efield all game for most teams is dangerous. Drew Davis is our 5th receiver, and the guy has looked like a stud when he's gotten play time last year. I think it's going to be one hell of a game. Hence why I can't really predict a winner outright. If the Bengals torch us, it'll be with Geo Bernard and Jeremy Hill.

Not giving an excuse. I'm only saying that when you are raised a certain way and you feel like you turned out great as a person, you're going to try and instill the same values and discipline on your own children. It's a common theme that just repeats itself over and over throughout a family. It's not an excuse, but I really believe that's what happened here. And I agree with your first notion about it being for lazy parents, in a way. But I don't condemn people from the 60's and earlier on punishing their kids and grandchildren (Which is us now) like that. Back then, that was how it was. Teachers, when you look at the scope of things, didn't lose their ability to whomp a kids hand with a ruler that long ago. Punishing a child the hands-off approach is the most frustrating thing that you could possibly try doing with your kids, because they aren't getting that "shock" factor that kids get when their parents take the physical approach. It took me near a year for my daughter to understand that when I put a chair in the middle of the kitchen and tell her to sit in it until she can understand what she did was wrong and she could stop throwing a tantrum that she was actually in trouble. She hates sitting in the chair. It's the closest thing to solitary she can get LOL

    Falcons @ Bengals

Last week, the Atlanta Falcons weren't going to put up big numbers on the Saints, nor were they winning. This is a tough match-up. I think the Bengals can put up 20-30 on us easy. I also believe that I will take Matt Ryan on a dime before I would take Andy Dalton. Matt Ryan vs tough defense. Andy Dalton vs defense with holes. Don't under-estimate our young starting corners though, they're real good on the outside. If the Bengals get ahead early, it's going to be on the heels of their ground game, not Andy Dalton passing. Despite how tough the Bengals defense can be, I don't see them being able to match-up with our receivers when we go 3 and 4 wide. This entire game will come down to offensive line protection for Matt Ryan.

    Update: AP returns to Vikings

I think the biggest problem with the whole "dad stuffed leaves in my mouth and was punching me in the face" is that there hasn't been any physical proof of it. I would love to believe, and normally would take what his son has said as the truth, but if Adrian Peterson hit his son in the face, he would have bruises on his face to go with it. There hasn't been anything mentioning that. At this point, I'm not even 100% sure that the son said that, rather than it being something that "hearsay" reported to the media and so on. If it turns out that part is true, then absolutely, put this guy to the dogs. He deserves to sit in jail, because that's going too far. As far as the switch though, I've got to maintain that a lot of times this is learned behavior. While I don't condone it or agree with it, we can't assume it's wrong. Marks were left, and it's horrible. I do believe though when Peterson says he doesn't believe any wrong doing was performed. He was raised like this, and that's what he thought an acceptable punishment for whatever terrible act his son did. If he Peterson felt it was wrong to punish a child like that, he wouldn't have cooperated up to this point. In fact, the text messages sent from his phone even provide proof that Peterson had no outlook that this was wrong, but rather that he was providing discipline to his son to shape him how his parents shaped himself. So was it wrong? Yes. Did he cross the line? More than likely. Did Adrian Peterson know and mean to abuse his son? That's the debate going on, and I don't believe he was purposefully trying to abuse his son. All I am trying to say is that using a switch for punishment isn't uncommon.
