  1. My immersion in the movie wasn't broken over that 'feminism' stuff at all. I think the context of Poe's character and the actions he made, like blots was saying, justify how Laura Dern's character handled the situation/how it was written.

I also liked Rose's character...aside from the cheesy ending w/ saving Fin but I enjoyed the backstory of her sister's sacrifice. I am going to ask that you don't ruin her for me.

  2. Jameis has proven that he is a bone head, many times. At a certain point, you can't defend him anymore and the excuses run dry. He is a great QB talent but he really doesn't have the mental make up to be a consistent, top QB. Coaches can't really fix that and we have seen them get on him in the past for the dumb shit he does....

  3. Sorry for double post but this is a completely diff topic:

And one more thing re: Hillary and gay marriage since facts mentioned it: She is not anti-gay marriage and just came out in favor of it for political reasons. She was for it years before she publicly admitted it and didn't out of fear of political consequences. Obviously you'd rather that she did the right thing earlier, politics be damned, but I want that to be cleared up.

I mean to me that shows she is not fit to be a leader regardless. But I am biased and would lean towards her being a snake rather than 'honest' or good all along.

But anyways the very last quote of this article from Hillary herself seems to contradict with what you are saying.

    https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/hillary-clinton-marriage-is-always-between-a-man-and-a-woman/

Gross pressed the issue, and Clinton provided a firmer answer as to why she changed her position in 2013:

GROSS: “You know I’m just saying, I’m sorry — I just want to clarify what I was saying — no, I was saying that you maybe really believed this all along, but, you know believed in gay marriage all along, but felt for political reasons America wasn’t ready yet and you couldn’t say it. That’s what I was thinking.”

CLINTON: “No. That is not true.

  4. It needs to get to a place where illegally entering the country is just wrong when **insert substitute** is available.

I think heavy penalties for illegally entering the country seems to be the easiest way forward that I can see to deter illegally entering the country. However, prior to implementation we should do something along the lines of offering/implementing a refuge/temp visas/probation program for people already here and in the future for people from countries where they are fleeing for their families safety. Potentially lowering the barriers of entry for specifically the Americas overall isn't a terrible thought either.

Detaining, holding, and deporting is too costly and separating families is not right when they are coming here for better opportunity and safety. If there were an easier way to attack the issue at the source in the future (other than heavy penalties), I would be for it but I don't really see one. But I do think we need to figure out a way to get it under our control for many reasons.

  5.

    Because.

People have been riding his nuts all year long and esp. during the Eastern Conference playoffs for hitting GW shots over mediocre at best teams.

Go to 7 Games with the Pacers?

    Sweep the lolRaptors

Go to 7 with the Celtics without Kyrie, Hayward AND Smart?

Then proceed to get swept by the first competent opponent you face.

Not only that. The game where you DID have a chance and you did go to OT he clearly gave up. Too much wrapped in the honest mistake of a teammate, when you have a chance to still win the game.

The whole hand thing after game 4 is BS too, he's full of excuses.

Also. What's the deal with him not wanting to guard KD... instead making Kevin Love guard him when him and KD are more comparable in skill set and athleticism. He literally passed off KD to George Hill and Lebron stuck Curry at the end of game 3.

    Are you kidding me?

He has no killer instinct, he has no balls and he has officially been defeated at his own game with the idea of perfecting superteams.

His legacy is nothing more than Peyton Manning. Great reg season performances, but subpar playoff performances when it matters.

I do agree with you on the KD and super-team stuff but your last sentence is just...wrong, statistically. As for this years playoffs, we already knew coming in that the Cavs weren't that good but were good enough to go to the finals in the East solely because of Lebron. It is also pretty standard to not disclose injuries during a playoff series.

Honest mistake of a teammate is a pretty funny way to put it...it was a really dumb mistake and in that series the Cavs room for errors was slim. I would have been pissed too.

  6. I agree with people on the LeBron playing gm and then whining thing but...

Why are people giving him shit for getting swept by the most ridiculous team ever? All of the discredit being thrown around should be towards KD.

  7. Rodgers has earned every penny no question and you pretty much have to pay him. He gives you a chance to win year in and year out. But I just think there will always be better teams that he can't overcome. The Saints look to have rebounded a bit with Brees being highly paid so it is possible. But if you factor in injury risk and all that...that kind of contract is just ugly if you ask me.

Brady taking less money has definitely helped the Patriots stay on top which gets overlooked by many.

  8. The big question is, will Lebron give up ball handling duties? I don't see that happening so it doesn't really make sense for CP3 to team with him. I would argue Philly should avoid that as well considering they have Simmons to do it. It is one thing to have stars but the team composition needs to make sense as well.

  9. Warriors getting all the calls tonight too. This is pathetic.

Also, Klay Thompson is scarier as a shooter than Steph is on an every day basis. Steph is scarier when he gets hot, Klay is scarier every day. He's more consistent.

I think what Curry does is more impressive though because of his position as a ball handler and how he can create his own shot.

  10. I am definitely hyped for a pokemon game to finally hit the Switch. I missed the announcement though so I will have to check it out. Probably looking more forward to the 2019 games as I am sure the new RPG will set the stage for those to be REALLY good/adopt the good things from it.

I stopped playing Go pretty early but I have picked it back up recently. I am not well stocked atm so it is kind of hard for me to play it consistently. But I think it will be my go to mobile game for the summer.

  11. Mental illness is it's own issue but I feel like our society breeds it. I think it's the direct cause of the mass shootings but in all fairness I don't know shit. Lol

Much easier to do some of the things I said then attack mental illness from the ground up. I'm not saying we shouldn't address it but regarding guns, I think there are easier things to implement/do.

Just look at my first point: isn't it sad that most of America knows who Nicholas Cruz is? But I bet very few know who Officer Caprio (Google it) is.

  12. To me, the big stumbling block for gun restrictions will always be hunting. Sure we can take away civilian ARs but shotguns and rifles can do significant damage as well. For the record I am against banning guns, even ARs.

    My ideas:

    1. Law banning the media from naming shooter

    2. Harsh penalties on parents who allow their children access to guns without supervision or beyond practical use.

    3. As oochy said, let the states decide for themselves

    4. Could look at increasing the age limit

    5. For ARs, instead of banning, just bring new barriers of entry for owning them. Something like requiring training, certificates to get. Yearly tax and mandatory recertifications required. Heavier punishments for misuse.

A big issue people need to understand is that there is also a lot of misinformation spread against guns and often times the media and politicians have no idea what they're talking about.

As for schools in particular, I don't know. Arming the teachers is terrible for many reasons (think of the cost of arming every teacher and training them). I would rather have police officers man the front door with metal detectors and lock every other door, only faculty have keys to the other doors. No solution in mind for colleges.
