Just how impressive of a job has Harbaugh done with the SF 49ers? Harbaugh took a team that had some talent with Alex Smith at the helm and Gore in the backfield...but overall an average offense at the time. There was no Crabtree like we know him today, still an unknown...there was a Randy Moss far past his prime and there was no Mario Manningham or Patton. An offense that lacked explosiveness, but the physicality on the offensive front was still there. The defense, relatively the same, just matured over the years of Harbaugh and Fangino (sp) He's taken them to the NFCCG EACH of his first 2 years as an HC being 1-1. A loss is a loss, but never has he been blown out when it's mattered most in the playoffs. The loss to the SB champion Giants in 2011, and a loss in a highly contested second half affair with the Baltimore Ravens. Now he's at the same place he has always been, the NFCCG. Where his team is once again, the underdog. To me, I think this is a huge make or break moment for Jim Harbaugh's legacy as an HC, and personally I think he can do great things if he does lead his team to a title this year. My question to all of you is, what are your thoughts on Jim Harbaugh? How great can he be?
