The Saints had won just three of the teams' previous 10 meetings before this streak. The Saints came back from a 14-3 halftime deficit to win 28-14 at Tampa Bay last week. It was New Orleans' fourth road win by double digits this season, most in the NFL and tied for the most in a season in franchise history (2006, 2007, 2009). The Panthers have lost five straight after opening the season 6-2. Carolina has a minus-6 turnover margin during the losing streak after posting a plus-8 differential over the first eight games. The Saints have 31 touchdown passes this season, tied with the Buccaneers for third most in the NFL, and lead the league with 21 rushing touchdowns. The last two teams to rank top three in both passing and rushing touchdowns were the 2016 Falcons and the 2015 Panthers, both Super Bowl runners up. Drew Brees has just 499 passing yards over his last three games, his fewest in a three-game span since 2006 - his first season with the Saints. Brees is 37 yards shy of his 14th straight season with 3500+ passing yards, the second-longest streak all-time behind Peyton Manning's 16 straight (1998-2014). Cam Newton did not throw a touchdown pass last week, snapping his franchise-record 11-game streak of throwing multiple touchdown passes. Newton has 2+ TD passes and 25+ rushing yards in five straight home games, tied with Russell Wilson for the longest such streak in NFL history.
