Vin+ 3,121 Posted December 22, 2018 Quote http://hosted.stats.com/fb/preview.asp?g=20181222010&home=10&vis=28 Washington has won three of the last four matchups between these teams, most recently getting a 19-17 win at home in 2014. Washington's first trip to Tennessee came in 1997, the first year that the then-Oilers played there. Washington lost that game but has since won in its only two visits. Washington snapped a four-game losing streak with last week's 16-13 win in Jacksonville. It was the fourth time this season that the Redskins have held an opponent to 13 or fewer points on the road, the most in the league. Tennessee (three times) is the only other team to do that more than twice. The Titans won their third in a row last week, beating the Giants 17-0 for their first shutout since closing the 2000 regular season with back-to-back shutouts. That also had been the last time Tennessee allowed fewer than 10 points in a two-game span until giving up a total of nine in the past two weeks. In Weeks 1-8, the Redskins allowed 80.1 yards per game on the ground, second best in the NFL. Since then, they've allowed at least 100 rushing yards in every game and an average of 153.0, 29th in the NFL. Since Week 9, Tennessee is averaging 153.7 yards on the ground, fourth in the NFL. Josh Johnson earned his first NFL victory last week, going 16-for-25 for 151 yards and a touchdown in his first start since Week 13, 2011. It was also the first time in six career starts that Johnson did not throw an interception. One week after Derrick Henry exploded for four touchdowns and 238 rushing yards, he ran for another 170 yards and two TDs against the Giants. Henry's 408 yards over the last two weeks account for nearly half of his season total (882). He hadn't topped 60 yards rushing in any of his previous 16 games.
