Packers @ Jets

Recommended Posts

The Packers have won their last two games against the Jets, coming in 2010 and 2014, but are just 4-8 against New York all-time. That's tied with their 5-10 record versus the Dolphins for their second-worst against any active franchise (3-7-1 vs. Chiefs).

Green Bay's 24-17 loss in Chicago ensures that the Packers will miss the playoffs for the second consecutive season. That hadn't happened since the 2005 and 2006 seasons, the two seasons prior to Brett Favre's final year as a Packer.

New York has lost seven of eight after opening the season 3-3. The Jets have failed to win any game in which they scored fewer than 23 points and they are 4-0 when scoring 24 or more.

The Packers have averaged 4.98 yards per rush this season, third in the NFL, but will be without leading rusher Aaron Jones for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. The Jets have averaged 4.01 yards per carry -- only the Buccaneers (3.97) and Cardinals (3.68) have been worse.

Aaron Rodgers' NFL-record streak of 402 pass attempts without an interception was broken by a fourth-quarter Eddie Jackson pick in Chicago last week. It was just the fourth game of Rodgers' career (and third start) in which he had zero touchdown passes and at least one interception (first since Week 15, 2014).

For the first time in his career, Sam Darnold had multiple touchdown passes and no interceptions last week. He also surpassed Joe Namath for the third-most passing yards by a rookie in team history with 2357, 87 shy of Mark Sanchez for second place. Geno Smith has the team rookie record with 3046.

The Packers suck but we’ve kinda had life the last two weeks. I expect to win and pretty handily - which means this is gonna be a lot closer than it should be.
