Ray Lewis Says He Can't See Playing Past Age 37

Recommended Posts

Baltimore Ravens All-Pro middle linebacker Ray Lewis rarely entertains questions about retirement, insisting that he's like wine and grows better with age. However, Lewis suggested that he might not play more than another year or two as he approaches his 36th birthday next month. The two-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year was asked by NFL Network if he would be able to play long enough to play on the same team as his son, Ray Lewis III, a Florida prep standout running back who will be a junior this fall. “That’s another four years!†Nah," Lewis said. "Because I’m real with myself, that would be a very hard task. I can’t see myself playing football past 37.â€

Well he can't play forever. It's been a blessing having him on the Ravens, sad day when he has to hang em up.

This will be one of the most difficult retirements for me to see. The guy is so fun to watch.
