badgers 380 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) Haven't done a sig in a while, thought I'd try one out. Before you critique me, remember that I was never very good to begin with lmao. I can never get the text to look good, so major help on that is requested, thanks. I tried to do the same style that I've seen on some recent sigs posted here. Edit- Now that I posted it here, it looks really big, is it too big? Version 2: Edited July 14, 2011 by gobadgers77
Titanswin472 29 Posted July 10, 2011 I cant tell if its too big because im lookin at it from an ipod, but i like the background and effects but text is ugly. Try duplicating the font and putting it behind real text. Then make the back text black and gaussian blur it. It creates like a drop shadow behind text and makes it look a little better. Wouldn't a regular drop shadow work the same?

әightninә. 39 Posted July 10, 2011 Post the PSD. It's a good start, just needs more, and better text.
badgers 380 Posted July 10, 2011 What do you mean? What is a "regular" drop shadow? I'm assuming you use Photoshop? Layer > Layer Style > Effects > Drop Shadow You just select color, opacity, distance, and spread and stuff. I'll post the PSD when I'm back on the computer that has it, eight. Later today probs. BoneKrusher+ 1,276 Posted July 11, 2011 i like this and i've always liked Impact font man. it looks better in all caps IMO tho. maybe last Name all caps and first name small letters, just to see how it would look.

Thanks, Impact was just a backup plan I couldn't find anything I liked better so I went with that. And by small letters do you mean lowercase Adrian or smaller font size Adrian? And by small letters do you mean lowercase Adrian or smaller font size Adrian? you could try both ways. last name with Impact (all caps) and lower case on the first name or you could use a smaller font with all lower case on the first name. badgers 380 Posted July 12, 2011 I'll try that and does anybody know how to make the font slanted in Photoshop? Was trying to figure it out but I couldn't. Thought that angling the letters toward Adrian would make it look nicer text.

(just click ERASE anywhere on the text layer where theres no text and you'll get the option to do this.) click ok now click edit/transform and then Perspective. just play around with it till you get what you are looking for. BoneKrusher+ 1,276 Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) i dont use this option a lot for my text but pretty sure this is how you do it. (i did just remember this will require all your text to be on the same layer i think.) funnygunny will know he's really good at it. an example with Impact font: Edited July 12, 2011 by BoneKrusher
badgers 380 Posted July 13, 2011 No sorry I mean like this (the bottom row)
BoneKrusher+ 1,276 Posted July 13, 2011 No sorry I mean like this (the bottom row) my bad. you want Italic. when you add your text, look for this option. with my version of CS3 i dont have this option with Impact tho.
badgers 380 Posted July 13, 2011 That's what I thought but I couldn't put it on Italic (couldn't remember what it was called). So it must be prevented with the font I am using.

So it must be prevented with the font I am using. ya i have 2000 fonts installed and prolly only a third of them have the option for Italic. one of the better ones i have with this option is Arial Black and Arial Narrow just in case you wanna try those. badgers 380 Posted July 14, 2011 Version 2: BK I figured out that you can do Italics with Impact. Idk what you have but in CS5 you have to open up the paragraph window and click the arrow and it'll bring up a bunch of advanced options for text. & since nobody really said anything about improving anything but the text, the only thing I changed was the text. If something else looks bad tell me.

Titanswin472 29 Posted July 14, 2011 I like the second one gobagers. I think you should either change the shade of purple in the subtext or take it out because that shade doesnt match with the purple in the background.
badgers 380 Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) I'll edit the text, and post two versions one with edited and one without it. Thanks guys. Edit: Edited July 14, 2011 by gobadgers77
