BLUE 1,026 Posted August 31, 2011 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: The Seahawks will work out free agent Clinton Portis this week.NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that no signing is imminent, but we wonder if the workout indicates concern with Marshawn Lynch's ankle injury. Lynch has been sidelined since last week and is already ruled out for the preseason finale. Portis is no more than a blitz-pickup specialist at this point. Sacks98 28 Posted August 31, 2011 Portis has nothing to offer at his age i hope they go with Clayton if Lynch isn't ready by the opener.
CARDINAL 205 Posted August 31, 2011 Portis has nothing to offer at his age i hope they go with Clayton if Lynch isn't ready by the opener. Even with his "advanced" football age for the running back position, Clinton portis can still be an effective backup for Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks were terrible for total rushing yards last year, so I doubt this year that they'll be that much better.
BC 331 Posted September 1, 2011 John Clayton was talking up Clinton Portis' pass blocking ability and how it's the biggest asset Clinton brings to the table at this stage of his career. It's true, it is a crucial need as Tarvaris never is able to let the play develop.

I don't see him as an upgrade over Forsett in the run game and its not our RB's that are the problem its the line guys are getting into the backfield or shoving them back into the RB's.
