Two timeless legends gone on the same day. Can't recall a day like this in any sport. RIP Earl Weaver and Stan the Man, and thank you for your contributions to this great game.

RIP to the legend that is Mr. Earl Weaver.

 

I don't mean to disrespect Earl at all, but I am closer to Stan. One of the greatest players in the history of maybe not only baseball, but in all of sports. Didn't strike out, got on base all the time, had some nice power and tons of extra base hits while driving in a ton of runs. This might sound crazy, but I often think Stan doesn't get the respect or recognition he deserves. You have guys like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Lou Gherig, ETC ETC... Stan belongs not just in the same breathe as those guys but in the same sentence.

 

What a great man and player. His legacy shall live on forever. :yep:
