SteVo+ 3,702 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) For the first time since May of last year, Nick Saban will be forced to deal with an off-field legal issue involving one two three four of his football players. And, at first blush, it’s not your run-of-the-mill underage drinking citation, either. While details are scant at the moment,. what’s known is that four reserve Tide football players — running back Brent Calloway (pictured), linebacker Tyler Hayes, defensive lineman D.J. Pettway and defensive back Eddie Williams — were booked by the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Department on various charges Monday. Hayes, Pettway and Williams were charged with second-degree robbery, while Calloway was charged with fraudulent use of a credit/debit card. Williams was also hit with a fraudulent use of a credit/debit card as well. The individual booking pages for Calloway, Hayes, Pettway and Williams can be viewed HERE, HERE, HERE and HERE. From TideSports.com: Williams was released on $65,000 bond. Hayes and Pettway were released from jail on $60,000 bond. Calloway was released on $5,000 bond. Jail records indicate that they were arrested around midnight and released between 3 and 5 a.m. Neither Saban nor the school have commented publicly on the situation. This is Calloway’s second arrest since coming to the Tide as a five-star recruit in 2011. In October of that year, he was charged with misdemeanor possession of marijuana. All four of the players charged are either true freshmen or redshirt freshmen.
