BUCK3Y3 44 Posted September 8, 2013 BUENOS AIRES, Argentina -- Wrestling has been reinstated for the 2020 Olympics, seven months after losing its spot. It beat two other sports in a vote by the International Olympic Committee. Wrestling received 49 votes, while a combined baseball-softball bid got 24 and squash 22. This is a big big moment for the wrestling community.
oochymp 2,393 Posted September 9, 2013 that's awesome, there are so many great reasons for wrestling to be an olympic sport, primarily that a gold medal in wrestling is actually the biggest accomplishment in the sport, I don't think a golf gold medal will ever really be seen as on the same level as a green jacket
BUCK3Y3 44 Posted September 9, 2013 Not to mention wrestling has been present at every Olympics ever. I don't know how they ever even considered removing it from the olympics. Doesn't make sense.
blotsfan 2,112 Posted September 9, 2013 Yeah, this really didnt make sense. Is wrestling less than beach volleyball or water polo?
