Jags concerned Cecil Shorts fractured a rib

Recommended Posts

Per Rotoworld.com:

According to ESPN's Josina Anderson, the Jaguars are concerned Cecil Shorts "could have fractured a rib closer towards the sternum."
Shorts' injury was called a shoulder sprain when he went down in the first quarter Sunday, but it sounds more complicated that that. Anderson was told that Shorts' lung obscured the X-ray film, so he might have a CT scan on Monday. He did leave the stadium in a sling. Oct 13 - 10:35 PM

Cecil Shorts has been diagnosed with a sprained sternoclavicular joint.

It's the same injury Ben Roethlisberger sustained in Week 9 last season. He didn't return until Week 13, but Shorts' sprain doesn't sound as severe. "He could play," coach Gus Bradley said about his wideout's Week 7 status. "He's sore now, so we'll know more in a couple of days. The good news is the joint is stable." The SC joint allows movement of the clavicle and is connected to an upper rib. Mike Brown, who had four catches for 49 yards against the Broncos last week, is Shorts' direct backup.
