New Slipknot Next Tuesday

The long awaited return of the Knot is officially upon us. Their new album will be released next week, and so far the songs that have been released from it are absolutely stellar. Here's a link to some streams:

These songs don't appear to be the trend-hopping kinds of tunes that appeared on All Hope is Lost. Song structures aren't immediately clear in any of them, and there are a ton of influences flying around. A new element to Slipknots amalgamation of heavy metal genres is the moments of traditional death metal ferocity that appear on songs like The Devil in I, The Negative One, AOV, and Sarcastrophe. Absolutely excellent material.

 

There's even some Doom Metal influence on here. It's so awesome.

So for years you talked shit to those of us that liked Slipknot, even going so far as to disparage Paul Gray's musicianship in the tread about his death. Now they release a bunch of atrocious songs for their new album sans the original bassist and drummer, and you love it?
