Vin+ 3,121 Posted February 26, 2017 Jaguars acquired LT Branden Albert from the Dolphins in exchange for a 2018 seventh-round pick. We are marking this as official after EVP Tom Coughlin said he does not "see any reason" why the trade will not go through when the new league year begins on March 9. It is still unclear if Albert took a pay cut on the $8.9 million he was scheduled to make with the Dolphins. Albert is 32, has averaged 12 games a season since 2011, and appears to be trending downward. The Jaguars still need to be looking toward the future at left tackle. RazorStar 4,025 Posted February 26, 2017 It finally happened. Prolly won't amount to much, but he could be decent.
Warhorse 132 Posted February 27, 2017 Colts finally addressing their o-line as well. I see the entire AFC South as trending up. As Razor said...might be decent.
Vin+ 3,121 Posted May 13, 2017 Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said he’s still yet to talk with LT Branden Albert. "No. Probably don’t expect him to now," said Marrone. "You just want to know where everyone is at." Albert has been a no-show at voluntary workouts. The Jaguars have made clear they won’t be giving him a new deal, but it sounds like there’s some concern over his 2017 status. Albert will face competition from second-rounder Cam Robinson whenever he reports. Source: Florida Times Union
Vin+ 3,121 Posted March 2, 2018 Free agent G/T Branden Albert was arrested on charges of criminal damages and willful obstruction of a law officer Wednesday in Atlanta. There are rumors Albert was involved in an altercation at a jewelry store and was tazed, according to TMZ, but that hasn't been confirmed. Albert has been out of the league since being released by the Jaguars last August after quitting on the team. He worked out for teams last season but appears done.
