I propose OSU themed content. With a significant that says JT is the next great QB of our generation for added effect.

Alshon guaranteed a win. Pats win confirmed. For as much as you guys said just ignore Phil, seems like a lot of you snapped and you're engaging with him again. What's the deal with that? For as annoying as some of his content is, it's getting almost as bad seeing people constantly argue with him. He says the same shit, but so do people who respond to him.

Sounds like Alex Smith is way cheaper than Kirk Cousins. I don't see how the 'Skins have the talent around him (on either side of the ball) to elevate them, though. So in terms of this putting them closer to winning a title? Yeah, I'd agree that they lose on this one.

Maybe if I watched it more it'd have more impact on me, but I didn't enjoy it as much as others. Still a very good episode.

Which one? Can't recall any from 3 I'd consider THAT good, lol. Assuming you mean Black Mirror, that is.

Jordan Peterson On the Wage Gap: Opinions Needed
OSUViking replied to Favre4Ever's topic in Politics, Religion & Science
I can understand your logic, but personally I can't support MRA. I tend to agree that in terms of legislation, there's not much else to do. Comes down to people treating others with respect regardless of demographic, and that's something culture needs to address. Considering how people plan to address the issues they see, it seems that we are a very long way off from basic respect between individuals. -
Lots of donating between fan bases lately.

Jordan Peterson On the Wage Gap: Opinions Needed
OSUViking replied to Favre4Ever's topic in Politics, Religion & Science
^exactly that I still struggle mightily in being assertive. But I don't victimize myself if something bad happens to me. I was having a convo with my sister. She went to culinary school that was quite expensive, and all she does is complain about the loan system. Yeah I get it, loans suck. But who created those circumstances? Her. She refuses to accept that this is a consequence of going to culinary school in a culture that DOES NOT value trade or vocational schools. It's unbearable being around her and others I used to love being around because they just complain about people fucking them over. That used to be me too, lol. Fuck that. It's revolting if you see it happen every time you talk to someone. -

I think insecurity in general is not addressed. Just about everyone is insecure about something, and it drives so many people. The general emotional intelligence in the US is nothing short of pathetic. Seriously, spend a few months shoring up emotional competency and then you'll see how awful everyone else is. Sarge talked about this in the Shoutbox. I'll save what he said for him if he chooses to share again, but it was relevant here. My own experience is from working to overcome my own issues, and now I see how toxic various friends and especially my family are. -

I can only speak for myself, but if I'm saying it's a myth I mean that the notion it is entirely driven by gender is a myth. Saying that women are paid less because they are women is oversimplifying the issue, hence why I call the gender wage gap a myth. -

Frankly Ngata, men's rights uses THE EXACT same logic as radical feminism. Any group that pits the "us against them" narrative is toxic, and men's right activism does that in spades. Circumstances are always extremely complex and they fall into the same trap as feminists in thinking these complex issues have simple causes. Peterson nailed it. Treat people fairly regardless of demographic. That's the goal. Fuck someone's identity, it really doesn't mean much. -

^It is absolutely ridiculous that Jordan Peterson is seen as controversial. The majority of what he says is stuff my doctors have shared with me. I'd imagine people don't like him because he annihilates the fantasy realities people come up with to excuse their own shortcomings. Edit: just finished the video. Lady was insufferable. Won't go as far as saying she deserves some backlash (definitely not death threats), but if I'd been Peterson I'd have walked out. She was not interested in having discussion with him, she wanted to tell him he was wrong. Peterson 10/10 -

I didn't like either. I should have clarified that you're the first I've met who enjoyed it period. To each their own of course, it just stood out to me. I didn't like it, but most people (at least irl) hated it lol. I do know someone who loved it basically (though they'd never confirm this) because it was directed by and starred women. I don't include this person's opinion, as it didn't seem to be based on the quality of the episode.

Don't have a source to quote, but did read that Ryan Day is staying at OSU and will get a promotion of some sort.

You are the first person I've encountered that enjoyed Arkangel.

Yeah if we could seduce a guy like Cousins I think it'd work well. I'm a little iffy on free agent QBs but who knows? If we invest in a line and put him behind it, with our defense, we could be set.

There are unique circumstances. I'd root for Aaron Rodgers (I actually really like Rodgers) over Brady any day, especially in the Super Bowl. I don't hate the Patriots nearly as much as some of you do, but I hate the Patriots dickriding that goes on with media and fans. I wanted the Packers to beat the Steelers as well because I had some pretty obnoxious friends who incessantly boasted about the Steelers.

Gunning for the NFC as I always do if it isn't the Bears or Packers. Props to the Eagles. I think the game is closer if it's at Minnesota, but in general Pederson outschemed us in every imaginable way. They were making some great defenders look very pedestrian all game.

Definitely thought Gilmore basically used the receiver to jump and get the ball on that last 4th down. I was surprised they didn't call that because it seemed like it knocked the receiver completely out of the play.

That bit at the end there makes me think this is a ploy to clear out those agencies/departments, but I literally know nothing but what is in that quote block so take that with a grain of salt.

Radicalism and its Ongoing Repercussions
OSUViking replied to BwareDWare94's topic in Politics, Religion & Science
https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2018/01/17/gun-violence-masculinity-216321?share=74fe4312 On phone so don't feel like quoting text, but it's a Politico article titled "Don't Blame Mentally Illness for Mass Shootings, Blame Men". It almost immediately mentioned "toxic masculinity". My reaction: I had never before seen "toxic masculinity" used in a serious context. I thought this was akin to something from the Onion at first til I saw it was Politico, but who knows maybe this is just a super sarcastic piece that went over my head? Please tell me it is.
