It'd be far better for the Ravens if Rice got 40 touches a game than Flacco having 40 pass attempts a game.

What Game Are You Currently Playing?
Thanatos replied to Phenomenal TJ's topic in General Entertainment
The biggest and most glaring flaw in all of Bethesda's RPGs, really. On the other hand, I don't have to worry if one of them gets killed. They're just hired hands. (Although it is funny when we're talking about attacking a city and my house-carl, who is from that city, is just sitting there listening, but makes no comment. And even helps me take the city.) I don't understand why they don't fix it. Fallout:New Vegas had some pretty good interactions, and a character-specific quest, but nothing like Bioware's RPGs. If we could somehow combine the character interactions in the Dragon Age and/or Mass Effect series, with gameplay like Skyrim, there would be no need to ever make another RPG. Apparently, we're not capable of doing that yet. -
All they need to do is trade for Kyle Orton and they'd be Superbowl contenders, nevermind just making the playoffs.

What Game Are You Currently Playing?

Another werewolf! I just laid siege to, and took, an entire city with an "army," (a couple dozen guys really doesn't qualify as an army to me). Basically, it was my character and one other guy against the entire city guard backed up by the Legion, (I sided with the Stormcloaks). Fortunately once we took out their leader, the rest of them stood down. I'm about 25 hours in myself, at level 20. Dragons are suddenly a lot harder to kill, they are no longer mere Dragons, but Frost Dragons, Blood Dragons, etc. My 30% fire resist boots are no longer an auto-win against a dragon. (The Frost Dragon I ran into ate me when I still had 130 hp.) It helps a lot that I found an awesome enchantment on an axe, (and promptly disenchanted it so I could use it on any other weapon). It does 10 fire damage on hit, *and* it soul-traps the target for 3 seconds. If someone wants to know where to find it, just PM me. It's part of a mini-quest line, so I'm pretty sure the enchantment on the item is always the same. I had about a hundred empty soul gems since I hadn't used Soul Trap all that much. So. much. gold. -

The Maverick Series: Best Division by Position
Thanatos replied to Maverick's topic in General NFL Talk
CJ is speedy as hell, and he has a lot of good moves. I'm not saying he's bad by any means, just not as good as guys that I would consider elite RBs. I've seen him many times over the past few years, just for the record, and have always felt this way. -

Yeah, that 12-year old cousin of his was a dangerous fugitive we had to kill. Come on, Cardinal, did you even read the article? -
The Maverick Series: Best Division by Position
Thanatos replied to Maverick's topic in General NFL Talk
I meant he can't make people miss like AP, Forte, etc. Which is in the exact same line. What the fuck? Yes, I'm a Panthers fan, and not a team of a fan with a huge fan-base, so sorry. I have been since their inception. Yes, my team's been shitty the past couple of years, but if I was no longer a fan because of that, what type of fan would I be? And I'd rather be a Panthers fan than an Eagles fan. How's that Dream Team working out for ya? -
So close, and yet so far. Hmm, let's see. B/S: Denver finishes with a winning record.

How would you know how wobbly his balls are, sir?

The Maverick Series: Best Division by Position

How is this proof? You assume I accept their word that ALY is a good way to measure how good an offensive line is. I'm not even sure I understand everything that is going into their calculation. Lol. You do that. AP, Forte, Arian Foster, Steven Jackson, and LeSean McCoy, just to name a few, are all better backs then Chris Johnson. Did you even watch the Panthers game? Did you see how many times he failed to make cuts? He kept trying to bust big plays instead of just putting his head down, going north-south, and picking up the first down. You continually try to make this an argument between CJ being a bad back or an elite one. That's not my position- he's a good running-back, but only when people give him holes. He can hit holes like few in the league, but he can't run over people or make them miss. That's what separates a merely good back from an elite one. -
You yourself have the Browns, a 3-6 team, below the Panthers and Vikes, two 2-7 teams, and the Eagles, a 3-6 team, ahead of the 4-5 Broncos. Record is not a good basis on which to *solely* rank teams. For the record, I agree with you, the Dirty Birds are not a top-10 team to me. But this is an opinion thread, and that's why we have 10 or so people doing this. It will average out.
-
That's why we have lots of people doing these, Phail. Besides, if they had won that game, I'd have them in my top-10, and they came damn close. It's not completely ridiculous. Yeah, I'm comparing them. And I don't think it's all that asinine. The Niners still haven't allowed a rushing TD. They have a great defense. As good as the Ravens defense back in '00? No. But is it good enough to let them make a deep playoff run and potentially upset Green Bay with a QB like Alex Smith- which was my entire point in making the comparison? Hell yes.

The Maverick Series: Best Division by Position

CJ was never a top-5 back. He's a niche-back, he only does good when he gets good blocking, he's not capable of running over people like Adrian Peterson and Matt Forte, or making people miss. We explained it in the other thread about him, (and I notice it's still only Titans fans who think he's elite), as follows: Good run-blocking: Great rushing yards for CJ, Adrian Peterson, Matt Forte, Steven Jackson. Bad run-blocking: Still good rushing yards for AP, Forte, and S-Jax, but bad rushing yards for CJ. -
It was more of a tongue-in-cheek comment. The "boneheaded decision" was running the ball when everyone in the stadium knew you were running it, not going for it. I think that was a very arguable decision, especially when your defense just stopped them. They're at the 30. If they get a 40-yard net on the punt, the Saints need to drive at least 35 yards to have a decent shot at a long FG, (and keep in mind Kasay has missed a few from 40+ this year). If you put that against two things- 1) Falcons don't win the game with a conversion, they'd still need a good 35-40 yards themselves, and 2) If you don't convert, you lose the game, period- I think it was the wrong call. Punt the ball and let your defense handle it.

If by could you are using the any given sunday theme. Otherwise, no. Colts are going 0-16, I think the Pack loses first.

That would be if you think CJ is a top-5 back. -
Oh the defense played great, but that was a given. The Niners defense is the best in the league, IMO. I was talking about on the offensive side of things.
-
This hardly even qualifies as smack talk. It's just the truth.

Err, it was Alex Smith that won the game, not Gore. Gore was completely shut down for the short time he was in, (he got injured in the first half). Oh and Cromp doesn't like the fact that I have the Pats at #8. He thinks that's too high.

Very simple recipe for steak: Take salt, the coarser, the better, and pepper, again, coarser the better, but still pretty high quality. Put enough on both sides of the slice of meat to cover it. Then grill it to however you like it done. No marinade necessary, and prep time of about 5 minutes plus cooking time, (which varies greatly, obviously). It's just about the best recipe for steak that I've had. It sounds very simple, but I've been using this one for years, and still haven't run into anyone who doesn't like it once they've tried it.

I sure hope so. I just don't think you can pin an entire franchise on him at this point when there are QBs like Big Ben, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees still out there. I'd almost pick him after those 3, though.

This is going to be a massive thread.
