The Patriots have won five straight games against the Steelers, including the 2016 AFC Championship Game; New England has scored at least 27 points in each of the five games. Since the start of the '13 campaign, Pittsburgh is 0-5 versus NE and 63-31-1 against all other teams (postseason included).

New England dropped to 3-4 on the road with last week's last-second 34-33 loss in Miami. The Pats have not finished a season with a sub-.500 road mark since 2009 (2-6). The loss was just their second under head coach Bill Belichick in a game in which they led by at least four points in the final minute.

The Steelers have dropped three consecutive games despite leading in the second half in each of them. In those games, Pittsburgh was outscored after halftime by a combined 54-21. For the season, the Steelers have a plus-74 first-half scoring margin, compared to minus-13 in the second half.

After throwing 16 TD passes and seven interceptions in the first seven games this season, Tom Brady has thrown a modest seven TD passes with only one pick in the last seven contests. In his career starts against Ben Roethlisberger, including postseason, Brady is 8-2 with 25 TD passes and four interceptions.

Roethlisberger's 282-yard effort against the Raiders last week gave him a sixth career 4000-yard passing season; he has the only six such seasons in Steelers history. Roethlisberger is 3-8 all-time against the Patriots, including postseason, despite passing for 350-plus yards four times.

Since 2001, the Patriots and Steelers rank first and second, respectively, in both regular-season wins (218 and 186) and postseason victories (27 and 15). In 19 of the past 24 seasons, at least one of the two teams played in the AFC Championship Game.

woo, threw the monkey off their back, and now the Patriots are looking at a wildcard game. Still 2 weeks to go, but this is a promising result for the rest of the AFC hopefuls.
