SteVo+ 3,702 Posted April 10, 2011 An interesting mock, though I have a lot of little complaints here and there. Instead of listing every pick I disagree with I'll try to point out my outstanding gripes. -Even if Nick Fairley had no red flags and was worthy of being a top 3 pick, the Bills wouldn't be considering him. I'd say that pick is a toss-up between Blaine Gabbert and Von Miller. -The Lions will draft the highest player on their board, and at 13th overall, that is definitely not going to be Brandon Harris. At this point I'd say Harris is a stretch to even be drafted in the first round at all. -I realize that the Akeem Ayers pick makes a lot of sense for the Giants, but it's not happening. The Giants don't take linebackers in the first round, and BLUE will back me up on that one. -Good job on the Eagles pick. You nailed it. -There is no way Cameron Jordan falls all the way down to 24th overall. He's a top 15 prospect and will not escape the first twenty picks. -Bruce Carter in the first round? Not sure that will happen, though I applaud you for being different.
HadenIsland23 42 Posted April 10, 2011 Thanks SteVo. I may extend my mock out to 3 versions since reading more stuff, appreciate all the help though. I had a hard time placing Miller and Fairley, but I agree, I should have placed Miller at 3.
HadenIsland23 42 Posted April 10, 2011 Made kinda a mock 1.1. I edited some things here and there, bolded. I think Ayers will go to the Giants though, it just seems like a good fit.
BLUE 1,026 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) -I realize that the Akeem Ayers pick makes a lot of sense for the Giants, but it's not happening. The Giants don't take linebackers in the first round, and BLUE will back me up on that one. I will. For whatever reason, we don't touch them in the first round. I see us going o-line with our first pick (Pouncey, Costanza or Solder). I'd also like to see us trade down. But, like us not taking LB'ers in the first round, we also don't trade down, even if it means we could get great value by doing so.... HadenIsland23 42 Posted April 10, 2011 Makes sense, but I will leave him there just because he seems like a great fit.
BLUE 1,026 Posted April 10, 2011 (edited) He's a better fit for a 3-4 defense, IMO, which we are not.... Edited April 10, 2011 by BLUE
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 10, 2011 I think Blue really wants you to change that pick.. hehe
AllYouNeedIsLovie 377 Posted April 10, 2011 Good mock. Some comments I have: -With the recent reports on Bowers, I am not sure he will go in the top 5. -I think the Lions will go OT over CB. Both are pretty big needs, but we've seen Stafford go down a few times already. They are going to want to protect him as much as possible and improving that o-line will definately help. -Like the Bucs pick. -If Locker is still on the board like he is in your mock, I think the Seahawks will take him. Xaos 1 Posted April 10, 2011 if Houston is on the board, the falcons are taking him. Bank it. And we're not taking a corner in the first round, we have Grimes and Robinson. The corner would be a nickel at best, and its not our biggest need.
DonovanMcnabb for H.O.F 2,241 Posted April 10, 2011 I would kill someone if the Lions drafted Harris in the first.
