Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 24, 2011 (edited) Didn't think I would be churning out another mock so quickly and with many days to spare... but here we are. This will, in all likelihood be my final mock. May make a few changes here and there, because its... 4 am and I probably made numerous mistakes. So... If you could point them out, please let me know Same song and dance as last time... If I left off a Mega prospect, like projected in the Top 10, let me know. Obviously probably a mistake. And CnC if you have time. ------------------------------------------ Favre4Ever Mock Draft v2.0 ------------------------------------------ 1. Carolina (2-14) - Nick Fairly, DT, Auburn And we officially have the first "Oh Snap" moment of my mock draft. Not so long ago, Fairly was dominating the top of the mock drafts. Then everyone started on the hate fest, saying he has a questionable motor etc and have him falling to the bottom of the Top 10. I just don't see it happening... Fairly is arguably the most dominant defensive player in this draft class... And while Dareus may be safer, the Panthers are looking for dominance in the trenches. And they get that with Fairly. 2. Denver (4-12) - Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama Seems to be an overwhelming majority that have Dareus going to Denver if he is still available, and I will continue to ride that bandwagon. But... could it be an elaborate smoke job to nab Patrick Peterson? Quite possibly, IMO. 3. Buffalo (4-12) - Cam Newton, QB, Auburn Oh... I know what you are thinking. But, but, but.... Von Miller. I absolutely agree with you that Von would be the better selection for the Bills. But you also have to remember that we are dealing with the Bills... They thought Aaron Maybin had talent as a pass rusher. They just don't know what they are looking for. Although... I must say... I am very intrigued at the possibility of my original prediction (pre-mock v1) of Cam going to Cincy. 4. Cincinnati (4-12) - AJ Green, WR, Georgia Bengals are just a little bit of a mess. Ocho and TO both should be hitting the road, so the Bengals are going to be looking for a replacement. There are numerous QBs to like with a 2nd round grade, so they pass on Gabbert and Co. 5. Arizona Cardinals (5 - 11) - Blaine Gabbert, QB, Missouri I was sitting here trying to convince myself that the Cardinals will do the right thing and take Von Miller. One... you get the best player at a position of utmost need. It is quite literally, the best scenario for the Cardinals to fall into on draft day. But... like the Bills at #3... they are borderline retarded and Gabbert is going to the desert. 6. Cleveland Browns (5 - 11) - Von Miller, LB, Texas A&M Too good to pass up on. Simple as that. 7. San Francisco (6-10) - Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU Another one of those picks that just kinda makes sense. Peterson is atop many experts mega boards, and getting (arguably) the number one prospect in the nation at the seventh overall pick sounds pretty darn good to me. 8. Tennessee Titans (6-10) - Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina Wouldn't the Titans just love Nick Fairly to fall... But the more I think about it, the more it seems like a dream. Robert Quinn is the best player left on the board (IMO), and he could be quite the force in Tennessee. 9. Dallas (6-10) - Prince Amukamara, CB, Nebraska Everyone in Dallas was really hyped about the prospect of Amukamara falling to them... and all of a sudden, that excitement disappeared. Not sure what to make of that... But with how the board fell, it seems likely that Dallas could be hooking Prince up with the Star. My other option would have been JJ Watt. 10. New England, FROM WAS - JJ Watt, DE, Wisconsin No, the Patriots don't like trading up. But they have a TON of ammo in this year's draft. And why not go out and get Richard Seymour's replacement? Watt is the best 3-4 End in the draft, and is a dominating player coming out of the 5. Him falling out of the top 10, IMO, would be a travesty. And whoever nabs him, if he were to fall, would be getting one hell of a steal. 11. San Diego, FROM HOU - Aldon Smith, OLB, Missouri Seriously considered throwing Cameron Jordan here... but this draft is really heavy on the Dline prospects... So I think the Chargers are more than capable of grabbing a guy like Alan Bailey later on and filling any needs they have at 34 end. Aldon Smith is still raw, but with a little nurturing, can morph into the best pass rusher of this draft class. 12. Minnesota (6-10) - Tyron Smith, OT, USC I still think a guy like Cameron Jordan has a realistic shot of coming off the board here... but I have conceded to Viking fans everywhere by pitting Smith in purple, which I am sure he [smith] hates me for. 13. Detroit (6-10) - Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado Detroit's D-Line can't do it all. They need some help at the CB position, and Jimmy Smith's potential could really be that dangling carrot the Lions have been waiting for. 14. St. Louis Rams (7-9) - Julio Jones, WR, Alabama Jones has too much potential as an all around threat in the NFL to pass up at this spot. They could be looking at secondary help, but with Jimmy Smith off the board the Rams would rather not reach for the next best corner and end up with another weapon for Sam Bradford. 15. Miami Dolphins (7-9) - Mike Pouncey, OG, Miami May be a bit of a reach here at 15, but I highly doubt the Dolphins care much. Pouncey can come in, play next to Jake Long, and make an immediate impact for them for many years to come. In my original mock, I had the Dolphins selecting Ryan Mallet, and still believe that that is a possibility here. 16. Jacksonville (8-8) - Cameron Jordan, DE, California Kerrigan is a big favorite to go to Jacksonville. But with Cameron Jordan falling to them at 16, I am not so sure the Jags could pass him up. Granted... With DaQuan Bowers, and Cam Jordan still on the board, it would be classic Jags to pass on both and go with the Tyson Alualu of the three. 17. Washington, FROM NE - Christian Ponder, QB, FSU Skins trade back, get an extra pick or two, and get the most NFL ready QB in the draft. Ponder fits into Mike's scheme really well and would be an ideal fit in Washington. Win-Win for the Skins. 18. Houston, FROM SD - Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA Fart mentioned the possibility of this happening in the shoutbox and honestly... it just kind of stuck. First, it gives me another trade to add to my draft and it has a really nice ring to it... Akeem Ayers of the Houston Texans. It just fits. So we will go with this for now. haha 19. New York Giants (10-6) - Anthony Costanzo, OT, Boston College Originally had Indy moving up to grab Costanzo, but it might be time for big brother to stop being a bully. Costanzo looks to have a bright future in the NFL and the Gmen will be alllll over him. 20. Tampa Bay (10-6) - Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson I think that the position the Bucs are looking at is pretty unanimous across the board. But it gets interesting in this mock with both Bowers and Kerrigan still on the board. Bowers may have some question marks as far as his health is concerned, but I don't have any doubt that he can and will be the better player on the next level. 21. Kansas City Chiefs (10-6)- Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin I've been projecting this to happen for a while now, but it sure seems like everyone else has jumped on the bandwagon. Even though Albert sucks at LT, I am not sure the Chiefs are ready to give up on him. Carimi can play RT or kick inside, both of which are needs for KC right now. 22. Indianapolis (10-6) - Derek Sherrod, OT, Miss St The sheriff needs more protection, Sherrod fits that bill. 23. Chicago, FROM PHI - Nate Solder, OT, Colorado Bears want to avoid Solder falling to Seattle, and desperately need to shore up an offensive line that gives up a ton of sacks. Now... with Jay Cutler taking snaps from center, you need all the protection you can get... Because the dude likes to throw INT WITH protection.... imagine the the balls he would throw to the other team without an OLine... I mean, he threw 4 balls right at DeAngelo Hall. Ouch. 24. New Orleans (11-5) - Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue Kerrigan has definitely fallen quite a bit from his nice comfy project of going to Jacksonville in the middle of the 1st, but I doubt anyone complains going to Nawlins right now. New Orleans fills one of its biggest needs and gets great value. Who can hate that? 25. Seattle (7-9) - Corey Liuget, DT, Illinois And Seattle gets fucked again. Call it karma for beating the Saints in the playoffs. The best QBs are off the board, the best OT are off the board, the best DE are off the board. Yes, Jake Locker seems like a Lock (Ha!) at #25, and I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if that's the way they went. But I really like the value here, and it's the smarter pick, IMO. 26. Baltimore (12-4) - Cameron Heyward, DE, tOSU Not sure how sold I am on this, but everyone else is... Just jumping on the ol' bandwagon. 27. Atlanta (13-3) - Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa Come on BucD... Look what you did. You made Adrian Clayborn made by making fun of his strong arm and now he is looking for revenge. 28. New England (14 - 2) - Brooks Reed, OLB, Arizona Reed really came out of nowhere to claim this bottom of the 1st round selection. Most have him going early-mid 2nd... but the Patriots passed on the blonde bombshell a couple of years ago and have been punching themselves in the dicks ever since. They try making up for it here, with a long haired beats of their own. 29. Philadelphia, FROM CHI - Brandon Harris, CB, Miami Haha... Fuck you Stevo. You are getting Brandon Harris one way or another. lol 30. New York Jets (11 - 5) - Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor The Jets are going to be in desperate need of a guy to replace Kris long term, and they are obviously trying to get younger at the position... Shown by the fact that they let Howard Green walk, or waddle rather, his way to Green Bay. 31. Pittsburgh Steelers (12 - 4) - Aaron Williams, CB/S, Texas Pretend I am Sudowoodo for a second... "Use your 'mimic' attack". Right on duder. Williams isn't the best corner coming out of Texas, but he is going to make a heck of a safety. 32. Tennessee, FROM GB - Ryan Mallet, QB, Arkansas Just seeing how many QBs I can fit into the first round. Edited April 25, 2011 by Favre4Ever

Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 24, 2011 Von could be a great Sam backer in a
KeVo 176 Posted April 24, 2011 Von could be a great Sam backer in a 43 I think Miller could be a solid player in both a 3-4 and a 4-3. I like the mock. I hope somehow that either Dareus or Fairley falls to us.
Purple Pride 4 Posted April 25, 2011 Perfect pick for the Vikings
RANGA+ 1,210 Posted April 25, 2011 Wooo Peterson...and screw you, Redskins aren't taking Ponder in the first. I want him on the 49ers I like the mini-run on OTs that you have in between picks 19-23. I can definitely see that happening, especially if the Big Blue pickup Costanzo at #19. Though I do think Locker will get picked up before Mallet

Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted April 25, 2011 One small change. Instead of Miami trading up for Mallet, I have predicted the Titans will do that instead.
