Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted October 23, 2011 Why to watchChristian Ponder makes his NFL starting debut against the defending Super Bowl champions behind a depleted offensive line and on a team with one win. Welcome to the show, rook. Inside story Only four teams in the NFL have more three-and-out drives than the Vikings this season, and if they can't sustain drives and move things on the ground, Green Bay might hang 50 points on them. The Vikings are hoping Ponder can keep the chains moving; the Packers can swallow up young QBs. Minnesota usually plays us really close. And Ponder showed some nifty moves in the pocket to escape pressure. Could this be a shocking upset?
WindyCitySports 407 Posted October 23, 2011 This is going to get nasty. Viking splattered everywhere. 49
Vin+ 3,121 Posted October 23, 2011 Vikings declared Bernard Berrian inactive for Week 7 against the Packers. Berrian isn't known to be injured. It looks like the Vikes have moved on to Devin Aromashodu to go with the changing of the guard at quarterback. With Chris Cook (arrest), Antoine Winfield (neck), and Jamarca Sanford (concussion) out, the Vikes are without three of four starters in the secondary against the best passing attack in the NFL. Also out for the Vikes: C John Sullivan, OL DeMarcus Love, and DL D'Aundre Reed. Packers declared CB Sam Shields, LT Chad Clifton, G Ray Dominguez, DE Mike Neal, LB Jamari Lattimore, LB Robert Francois and LB Frank Zombo inactive for Week 7 against the Vikings. Coverage liability Jarrett Bush will take over nickel corner duties with Shields battling the aftereffects of a concussion this week. With the exception of Clifton, the Packers are healthy on offense.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted October 23, 2011 No Sam Shields... He's huge in coverage against Harvin. This probably won't end well. Although Davon House is active for the first time this year. I will be interested to see how he plays. If he sees any field time, of course.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted October 23, 2011 Bad defense and other various mistakes killing our chances right now.
Packers Dynasty 2010 116 Posted October 23, 2011 Wasn't the prettiest win but we got the job done. Woodson was such a ballhawk out there with 2 picks and being close to at least 4 other picks. Rodgers once again looked unstoppable for most of the time. The line was able to make gaping holes for Starks to run through on that final drive with 3 key 1st down pickups. The D still needs work, hopefully Williams can fully recover from his shoulder injury over the bye week and we can find some way to generate pressure. AP did work against us, along with how Steven Jackson ran last week; the Packers' run D isn't looking so great. Need to fix that as well. Glad to be 7-0 heading into the bye, hopefully we can improve and be ready for San Diego :beerchug2:
badgers 380 Posted October 23, 2011 Rodgers shredded Minnesota again lol......... Idk why we kept trying to run against them. Other than 3 plays we really didn't get much done on the ground. Defense played well later but I hate starting bad. Play good the whole damn game you're champions for christ sake.
Favre4Ever+ 4,476 Posted October 23, 2011 We have a LOT to work on during our BYE week, that's for sure. Little to no pass rush, inability to stop teams on 3rd down, WR drops
