BLUE 1,026 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) Per Rotoworld.com: Bears OC Mike Martz is reportedly interested in the head-coaching vacancy at Arizona State.Martz spent nine seasons as the Sun Devils' QBs/WRs coach (1983, 1986-87) and offensive coordinator (1984, 1988-91). He's in the final year of his contract with the Bears, having rejected an extension last offseason. Martz's 2012 exit wouldn't be bad news for the Bears fantasy options other than teacher's pet Roy Williams, who wouldn't be invited back. BLUE 1,026 Posted November 30, 2011 Per Rotoworld.com: CSN Chicago's John "Moon" Mullin suggests OL coach Mike Tice could take over as Bears offensive coordinator in 2012.Mullin reports that Mike Martz is a "long shot" for the Arizona State vacancy, but he could still be ready to leave the Bears after turning down an extension without a raise in the offseason. The Bears denied Tice an opportunity to interview with the Titans, so he's obviously valued highly in Chicago. The offense has been moving toward his philosophy and away from Martz's since the middle of last season. Nov 29 - 7:11 PM Source: CSN Chicago

Thanatos 2,847 Posted November 30, 2011 Why on earth does he think he deserves a raise? The one guy who is making your offense look semi-decent, you're not even paying.
badgers 380 Posted November 30, 2011 Why on earth does he think he deserves a raise? The one guy who is making your offense look semi-decent, you're not even paying. He doesn't. None of this is about a raise. He turned down an extension last year so he might not want to stay with Chicago. And besides his salary isn't related in any way to that of the players. He doesn't pay them and he doesn't decide who gets paid more. He just coaches...

He turned down an extension without a raise, is why I was confused. I thought they were saying the reason why he turned it down was because there was no raise.
